Preparing Your Site
1. Determinewherethelocalhostsystem(i.e.computer)willbelocated.
2. DeterminewheretheremoteUSBperipheralwillbelocated.
3. Ifyouareusingsurfacecabling,ensureyouhaveenoughCat5/6
unshieldedtwistedpair(UTP)cablingtoconnecttheLocal
ExtendertotheRemoteExtender’slocation,andthateachend
isterminatedwithaRJ45connector.Thecablingshouldnotgo
throughanynetworkingequipment(i.e.router,switch).Iftheactual
devicesarenotsetupyet,makesuretoleaveenoughexcesscable
slacktoaccommodateforchangesindeviceplacement.

twistedpair(UTP)cablingbetweenthelocalExtenderandthe
RemoteExtenderhasbeenproperlyterminatedinawalloutlet/
