C-MAC®Videolaryngoskop richtig anzuwenden,
zu reinigen und zu sterilisieren. Alle notwendigen
Einzelheiten und Handgriffe werden anschaulich

sorgfältig durch; bewahren Sie sie zum etwaigen

Ladestation für C-MAC®PM
3 WARNUNG: Patient und Stecker des Lade-
gerätes nicht gleichzeitig berühren. Deshalb
Akku außerhalb der Patientenumgebung
wiederaufladen.
1 HINWEIS: Verwenden Sie zum Wieder-
aufladen ausschließlich die Ladestation
Art.-Nr. 8401 XDL. Die Vorgehensweise ist
in der Gebrauchsanweisung der Ladestation
beschrieben (Artikelnr. 96076005D).
1 HINWEIS: Bereits nach 1 Stunde sind ca.
80 % des Ladevorgangs erfolgt. Ein kom-
pletter Ladevorgang dauert ca. 3 Stunden.
Stecken Sie den C-MAC®PM in den Ladeschacht.
Die Ladestandanzeige rdes C-MAC®PM leuchtet
orange.
Nehmen Sie, wenn die Statusanzeige grün leuch-
tet, den C-MAC®PM aus dem Ladeschacht her-
aus. Führen Sie eine Funktionsprüfung durch.
Charging station for C-MAC®PM
3 WARNING: Do not touch the patient and
the charger plug at the same time. For this
reason, the battery should be recharged
outside the patient environment.
1 NOTE: Use
only the charging station Art.
No. 8401 XDL for recharging. The procedure
is described in the instruction manual of the
charging station (Art. No. 96076005D).
1 NOTE: The battery will be approx. 80%
charged after just 1 hour. It takes around 3
hours to charge the battery fully.
Insert the C-MAC®PM into the charging compart-
ment.
The charge status display hof the C-MAC®PM
lights up orange.
If the status display lights up green, remove the
C-MAC®PM from the charging compartment.
Perform a test for proper operation.

3 CUIDADO: No toque simultáneamente al
paciente y el enchufe del cargador. Por ello,
recargue el acumulador fuera de las inme-
diaciones del paciente.
1 NOTA: Para la recarga, utilice exclusiva-

art. 8401 XDL. La forma de proceder está

está cargado aproximadamente al 80 %. El
proceso de carga completo dura aproxima-
damente 3 horas.
Inserte el C-MAC®PM en la ranura de carga.
El indicador de estado hdel C-MAC®PM se
enciende en naranja.
Cuando el indicador de estado se encienda en
verde, extraiga el C-MAC®PM de la ranura de
carga. Realice una prueba de funcionamiento.

Zweckbestimmung
Das C-MAC®-Videolaryngoskop 8401 AX/BX/HX/
AXC/BXC/DXC/GXC/KXC/HXP dient in Verbindung
mit dem Elektronik-Modul 8401 X/8402 X und dem
Monitor 8402ZX/8403 ZX oder dem C-MAC®PM
zur endotrachealen Intubation und zur Inspektion
des Mund-Rachenraumes.
Der Monitor 8403 ZX verfügt über eine separate
Gebrauchsanweisung (96076008D).
Kontraindikationen: Kontraindikationen, die
sich direkt auf das Produkt beziehen, sind der-
zeit nicht bekannt. Die Verwendung des C-MAC®
Videolaryngoskops gilt als kontraindiziert, wenn
nach Meinung eines verantwortlichen Arztes eine
solche Anwendung eine Gefährdung des Pati-
enten hervorrufen würde, z. B. aufgrund des
Allgemeinzustandes des Patienten, oder die
Laryngoskopie als solche kontraindiziert ist.
Uso previsto
El videolaringoscopio C-MAC®8401 AX/BX/HX/
AXC/BXC/DXC/GXC/KXC/HXP, en combinación
con el módulo electrónico 8401 X/8402 X y el
monitor 8402ZX/8403 ZX o el C-MAC®PM, sirve
para la intubación endotraqueal y la inspección
nasofaríngea.
El monitor 8403 ZX cuenta con instrucciones de
uso específicas (96076008D).
Contraindicaciones: No se conocen actualmente
contraindicaciones que se refieran
directamente al producto. La utilización del
videolaringoscopio C-MAC®está contraindicada
cuando, según la opinión del médico responsable,
una aplicación de este tipo podría representar un
peligro para el paciente, p. ej., debido al estado
general del paciente, o cuando la laringoscopia
como tal está contraindicada.
Normal use
The C-MAC®Video Laryngoscope 8401 AX/BX/
HX/AXC/BXC/DXC/GXC/KXC/HXP is used in
combination with Electronic Module 8401 X/8402 X
and Monitor 8402ZX/8403 ZX or the C-MAC®PM
for endotracheal intubation and the inspection of
the oropharynx.
A separate instruction manual (96076008D) is
available for Monitor 8403 ZX.
Contraindications: No contraindications relating
directly to the product are currently known. Use of
the C-MAC®video laryngoscope is contraindicated
if, in the opinion of the responsible physician, the
health of the patient is endangered through its use,
e.g., due to the general condition of the patient, or
if laryngoscopy itself is contraindicated.

Das C-MAC®Videolaryngoskop darf nur von
Personen eingesetzt werden, die über eine
entsprechende medizinische Qualifikation verfügen
und mit der Technik der Laryngoskopie vertraut
sind. Die in dieser Anleitung gegebenen Hinweise

Reinigung und Sterilisation des C-MAC®
Videolaryngoskops. Sie sind nicht zur Einführung in
die Technik der Laryngoskopie geeignet.
User qualification
The C-MAC®video laryngoscope may only be
used by persons with an appropriate medical
qualification and who are acquainted with the
laryngoscopic technique. The information given
in these instructions only serves to instruct in the
correct handling, cleaning, and sterilization of the
C-MAC®video laryngoscope. It is not intended as
an introduction to laryngoscopy.

La aplicación del videolaringoscopio C-MAC®

Safety precautions when using the C-
MAC®video laryngoscope
The C-MAC®video laryngoscope must be used
according to the medical rules and procedures of
laryngoscopy recognized for this method.
1 NOTE: The C-MAC®video laryngoscope
has been successfully tested for electroma-
gnetic compatibility as per DRF EMI Test
REPORT (Rev. C) on the BK 117 B2, EC
135 and EC 145 helicopters.
1 NOTE: The C-MAC®video laryngoscope
and the C-MAC®monitor 8402 ZX have
been successfully tested for the RTCA/
DO-160F (Section 21).
1 NOTE: The C-MAC®video laryngoscope
and the C-MAC®monitor 8402 ZX have
passed a fall and crash test successfully.
1 NOTE: The C-MAC®video laryngoscope

C-CAM®

äußeren Ring loslassen. Die Instrumentenkupplung
schließt aufgrund der Federkraft selbsttätig.

C-CAM®
To connect an endoscope or fiberscope, rotate
the outer ring of the coupling against the spring
force (in the direction of the arrow), insert the DIN
endoscope or fiberscope eyepiece, and release the
outer ring. The spring force enables the instrument
coupling to automatically click into place.
1 NOTE: All KARL STORZ endoscopes and
fiberscopes can be used.
C-CAM®

turning the silver focus ring don the camera head.
The system is now ready for use.

Maletín C-MAC®8403 YD
El maletín protector 8403 YD se suministra
opcionalmente y permite el traslado fácil, rápido y

Disassembly
Disconnect the connecting cord from the C-MAC®
monitor port.
Push the C-MAC®electronics module 2 (Fig. A)
or the C-MAC®PM w(Fig. B) out of the video
laryngoscope.
Demontage
Anschlusskabel vom C-MAC®Monitoranschluss
abziehen.
Das C-MAC®Elektronikmodul 2(Abb. A)
bzw. das C-MAC®PM w(Abb. B) aus dem
Videolaryngoskop herausschieben.
Desmontaje
Retire el cable de conexión del conector del
monitor C-MAC®.
Extraiga el módulo electrónico C-MAC®2(fi. A) o
el C-MAC®PM w (fig. B) del videolaringoscopio.
Einführen eines Sauerstoff- oder
Saugkatheters (nur mit 8401 AX/
BX/HX)
Bei Verwendung eines Spatels mit Sauerstoff-
oder Absaugkatheterführung wird die Sonde/der
Katheter soweit über die Führung vorgeschoben,
bis die Sichtbarkeit im Bild gewährleistet ist.
Bei Verwendung des Spatels 8401 AX können die
Katheter 14 Charr. (grün) und 16 Charr. (orange)
benutzt werden.Bei Verwendung des Spatels 8401
HX und
8401 BX können die Katheter 16 Charr. (orange)
und 18 Charr. (rot) benutzt werden.
Inserting an oxygen or suction
catheter (only with 8401 AX/BX/
HX)
When using a blade with an oxygen or suction
catheter guide, the probe or catheter is advanced
so far beyond the guide until visibility in the image
is guaranteed.
When using the blade 8401 AX, the 14 Fr (green)
and the 16 Fr (orange) catheters can be used.
When using the blade 8401 HX and 8401 BX, the
16 Fr (orange) and the 18 Fr (red) catheters can be
used.
Introducción de un catéter de
oxígeno o succión (sólo 8401 AX
y BX/HX)
Si emplea una espátula con guía para catéter de
oxígeno o succión, deberá deslizar la sonda/el
catéter más allá del extremo de la guía, hasta que
esté asegurada la visibilidad de la imagen.
En el caso de utilizar la espátula 8401 AX, pueden
usarse los catéteres de 14 Charr. (verde) y 16
Charr. (naranja).
En el caso de utilizar la espátula 8401 HX y
8401 BX, pueden usarse los catéteres de
16 Charr. (naranja) y 18 Charr. (rojo).

2 CAUTION: To avoid possible damages,
these connections may only be assembled
in dry conditions. Where a preparation is
carried out which does not involve drying
or during which no compressed air drying
can be carried out, the reprocessing cap
8401 YZ must be used.
1 ADVERTENCIA: Con el fin de evitar cual-
quier tipo de deterioro, estas conexiones
sólo han de enchufarse estando comple-
tamente secas. Si se lleva a cabo una pre-
paración para la que no se ha previsto una
etapa de secado o con un procedimiento
que no admite un secado por aire com-
primido, ha de utilizarse entonces por ello
imprescindiblemente la caperuza de reproc-
esamiento 8401 YZ.
1 HINWEIS: Grundsätzlich sind sowohl der
Anschlussstecker als auch die zugehö-
rigen Buchsen im Laryngoskop und im
Elektronikmodul absolut wasserdicht. Alle
drei Verbindungen sind auch resistent
gegenüber den Prozesschemikalien des
verwendeten validierten Aufbereitungs-
verfahrens.
Bei den validierten Aufbereitungsverfahren
können diese Verbindungen grundsätzlich
ungeschützt belassen werden. Besonders
wenn in einer Aufbereitungsmaschine der
Lagerungskorb 39501 LC2 benutzt wird, ist
kein weiteres Zubehör notwendig.
1 NOTE: As a general rule, both the
connector and its associated sockets in the
laryngoscope and in the electronics module
are completely waterproof.
All three connections are also resistant to
the process chemicals of the validated pre-
paration procedure used.
During the validated preparation procedu-
res, these connections can generally be left
unprotected. No further accessories are
required, particularly if the storage basket
39501 LC2 is used in a preparation machi-
ne.
1 NOTA: Básicamente, tanto el enchufe
de conexión como también el conector
correspondiente en el laringoscopio y en
el módulo electrónico son absolutamente
estancos. Las tres conexiones son también
resistentes frente a los productos químicos
empleados en el procedimiento validado de
preparación utilizado.
En el caso de procedimientos validados
de preparación, estas conexiones pueden
permanecer en principio desprotegidas.
Particularmente si en una máquina de
preparación se utiliza el cesto de almacena-
miento 39501 LC2, no es necesario emple-
ar ningún otro accesorio.

2 VORSICHT: Um etwaige Schäden zu
vermeiden, dürfen diese Verbindungen nur
in trockenem Zustand zusammengesteckt
werden. Falls eine Aufbereitung durchge-
führt wird, die keine Trocknung vorsieht
oder bei der keine Drucklufttrockung durch-
geführt werden kann, muss deshalb unbed-
ingt die Reprocessingcap 8401 YZ benutzt

Manuelle Reinigung und Desinfektion
Mit der Aufbereitung des eingesetzten Instrumentes
sollte möglichst zeitnah begonnen werden, da
Inkrustierungen irreparable Schäden verursachen
können. Grobe Verschmutzungen mit einem
aktiven Reiniger, z. B. auf der Basis von Tensiden,
und einem desinfizierten Schwamm oder einer
weichen desinfizierten Bürste entfernen.
Manual cleaning and disinfection
Reprocessing of the instrument should begin as
soon as possible after use, as incrustations may
cause irreparable damage. Remove heavy
soiling using an active cleaner and a disinfected
sponge or soft brush.

Comience con la preparación del instrumento
utilizado tan pronto como sea posible, dado que
las incrustaciones pueden provocar deterioros
irreparables. Elimine la suciedad gruesa con un
limpiador activo y una esponja desinfectada o con
un cepillo desinfectada.

die sich aber nicht auf die Funktion auswirken.
2 VORSICHT: Laryngoskop und Elektronik-
modul sind mit Gold-Kontakten ausges-
tattet, welche eine Korrosion verhindern.
Es ist aber, vor allem bei manueller
Aufbereitung, darauf zu achten, dass die
Kontakte bei der letzten Spülung mit mikro-
biologisch einwandfreiem/sterilem Wasser
gründlich gespült werden. Danach müssen
die Kontakte sowie das Instrument sorg-
fältig getrocknet werden, vorzugsweise mit
medizinisch reiner Druckluft.

cause cosmetic changes to the surface of
the blade.
2 CAUTION: The laryngoscope and the
electronic module are fitted with gold con-
tacts which prevent corrosion. Particularly
with manual cleaning/disinfection, you must
ensure that, in the last rinse, the contacts
are rinsed thoroughly with microbiologically
clean/sterile water. Then the contacts and
instrument must be dried carefully, prefer-
ably using sterile compressed air.

tactos a fondo con agua microbiológica-

secar por completo los contactos y el

Aufbereitungsmethoden bis max. 65 °C:

The monitor 8402 ZX/8403 ZX can be wipe-
down disinfected.
The C-MAC®PM 8401 XD is suitable and vali-
dated for the following low-temperature prepara-
tion methods up to a maximum of 65 °C: Manual/
machine cleaning and disinfection:
