5. PREPARATION AND OPERATION
Speaker placement
•Place the speakers symmetrically to the listener at the
distance not less than one meter.
•The MSS has a phase inverter on the side panel,
therefore the MSS should be installed at the distance of
20-30 cm from a wall or other obstacle. The subwoofer emits
non-directional sound, therefore it can be located in any
place of the room, where it will sound to the best
advantage.
•Place MSS far away from monitors and TV sets, as insig-
nificant image distortion in these supersensitive devices is
possible
Installation and operation
MS-905 Multimedia Speaker System can be connected to
virtually any audio source (see connection diagram, Fig. 2).
•Before connecting make sure that the MSS is switched off. Connect the built-in audio cables to
the audio outputs on the rear panel of subwoofer AUDIO OUTPUT L/R d(see. Fig. 2).
Note that the red RCA-jack of the right speaker should be connected to the red terminal of
the subwoofer and the white RCA-jack of the left speaker – to the white terminal of the
subwoofer (AUDIO OUTPUT R/L). The correctness and reliability of the cable connections
directly affect the quality of sound.
•The mini-jack of the stereo signal cable should be inser- ted into AUDIO INPUT econnector of
the subwoofer, and the other mini-jack of the cable should be plugged into a Ø 3.5 mm LINE OUT
port of the computer sound card or audio output of a player, as shown in the diagram (see Fig. 2).
Note. To connect the MSS to a DVD/CD-player or a TV it is necessary to use a mini-jack to
2RCA stereo signal cable (not included) or a mini-jack to 2RCA adapter (not included).
•Plug the power cord gon the rear panel of the subwoofer into an outlet.
•Adjust volume level to minimum by turning VOLUME control knob acounterclockwise until it
stops.
•Switch on the device (f, position ON), power LED clights up.
• Turn on the audio source.
•Adjust Master volume level by turning VOLUME control knob a. By turning the knob clockwise,
volume level is increased, and by turning the knob counterclockwise, it is reduced.
