1 Getting to Know Your Device
1.1 Overview
Tenda i21 is a dual band wireless access point designed for crowded places such as offices, bars
and cafes. Featuring the dual-band (2.4 GHz/5 GHz) capacity and equipped with the MIMO and
OFDM technologies, it offers a combined data rate of up to 1167 Mbps. You can use the built-in
power adjustment mode to adjust the transmit power as needed. Compliant with IEEE 802.3af
standard, i21 allows you to apply long-distance power supply via PoE without changing your
original power network. All of this makes i21 an ideal choice for WiFi coverage.

1.2.2 Button and Port

LAN port
10/100 Mbps auto negotiation port
If the AP is powered using a DC adapter, connect this port to a switch.
If the AP is powered through PoE, connect this port to an IEEE 802.3af/at PoE
switch.
The AP allows a maximum PoE power supply distance of 100 meters.
Power jack
The power jack is used to connect to a DC adapter for supplying power to the AP.

Reset button
After the AP is powered on, you can hold down this button for 8 seconds to
restore the factory settings.
1.2.3 Label
The label is located on the rear panel of the AP. For details of the label, see the following figure.

(1): Name of the AP.
(2): Model of the AP.
(3): Default IP address of the AP. You can use this IP address to log in to the web UI of the AP.
(4): Default user name and password of the web UI of the AP.
(5): MAC address of the AP. The default primary SSID of the AP is Tenda_XXXXXX, where XXXXXX
indicates the last 6 characters of this MAC address.
(6): Serial number of the AP. If the AP is faulty, you need to provide this serial number when
sending the AP for repair.
