Subject: Tank Gasket Replacement
Application: Model 740 and 7400 Series
CRYO Storage Systems
Kit includes: 103067 Gasket Material
13035 Tube RTV Silicone Adhesive
Tools Required: Tool to remove old gasket material
Sharp instrument to trim the gasket
Cardboard, styrofoam or similar material to cover tank
Installation
The cause of the tank gasket damage should be investigat-
ed and preventive measures taken. The tank should never be
overfilled: 25 inches of liquid is good, 27 inches too much.
1. The damaged gasket must
first be removed from the
edges of the tank frame
before the new one can be
installed. The gasket is
installed on both the upper
and lower sides of the
frame. See Figure 2.
2. Place the new gasket
out straight on a flat
surface, such as a table.
Run a line of silastic
on the inside groove of
the gasket, as shown in
Figure 3.

shown in Figure 2,
fitting it around the
edge of the tank
frame. The slight
curve goes toward
the tank (Figure 4).
4. When the end of the
gasket is reached, go
back over the gasket
one more time,
smoothing and fitting
it securely.
5. Trim the end of the
gasket so that the
ends of the gasket fit
closely together.
Check position peri-
odically during cure time.

6. Clean off excess silastic.
7. Allow to cure for at least 2 hours - without closing the
lid on the gasket.
8. Tank may be covered with cardboard, styrofoam or simi-
lar material during cure time.
