The horizontal axis mixer for barrels allows the
re-melting of previously skinned crystallized
honey, the mixing and homogenization of liquid
honeys for their microfiltration and bottling.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
CAUTION : Before connecting the appliance to the power supply, make sure that the electrical
installation complies with current standards (protection by earth leakage circuit breaker, earth wire,
etc.).
Check the supply voltage.
Before using the unit for the first time, clean it to remove any residual chips or filings.
Do not the device heat for a long time without constant flow or without surveillance (for example
over night).

OPERATING PRINCIPLE
Entirely made of stainless steel, the horizontal axis mixer consists of an Archimedes' screw (1) (or
endless screw) which stirs the honey and ensures a re-melting and a homogeneous mixing of the
product in a minimum of time. It can be useful to place the mixing tank in an hot-room in order to
melt the honey faster.
The endless screw (1) has 2 directions of rotation.
The appliance is heated by two electric resistances, controlled by an electronic temperature
regulator (2).
The machine is fitted with a removable grid (3) on top of the machine to allow the overturned barrels
to drain into the tray.
The mixer has a flat sloped base allowing the honey to drain completely through a 40/49 outlet at the
bottom of the appliance.
The mixer is equipped with a perforated baffle (Ø6mm) to filter out the coarse impurities contained in
the honey.
The mixer is equipped with a level detector, for the automatic triggering of a pump at the outlet of the
tank.
It is advisable to filter the honey at the exit of the mixing tank. For this, it is possible to use 200 or
400 micron stainless steel tubular filters with cartridges mounted on a stainless steel pump (for
more details, please contact us).

Setup
Connect the unit to the power supply.
Set the POWER button (4) to "ON".
Set the ON/OFF button (5) to "ON", the indicator light will come on to indicate when the unit
is warmed up. When the desired temperature is reached, the indicator light will go out.
Pour the honey into the tank; it is recommended to cover the endless screw to prevent the
incorporation of air.
Set the electronic thermostat (2) to the desired temperature (see also the attached
thermostat manual):
- Press the SET key for more than 2 seconds.
- The temperature value is displayed and the °C LED flashes.
- Change this value using the ▲ou ▼buttons within 10 seconds to reach the desired
temperature.
- To store the new value, press the SET button again or wait 10 seconds to restart the
operation.
Turn the rotation direction switch (6) to put the mixer screw in rotation.
Turn this switch again to change the direction of rotation.
To stop the machine, turn the ON/OFF knob (5) to OFF and then press the POWER button (4)
to OFF.
In case of emergency, press the emergency stop button (7) and unlock it by turning it
slightly to the right.
Collect the honey through the 40/49 male outlet at the bottom of the unit or by using a
pump.
It is possible to run the endless screw independently from the automatic trigger. Simply
turn the On/Off button (5) with indicator light and press the manual override button (8).

MAINTENANCE
CAUTION : Disconnect the machine from the power supply before carrying out any
maintenance work.
Protect electrical appliances when cleaning.
Clean with hot water.
The horizontal axis mixer is a seasonal equipment but must be operated regularly
throughout the year (at least a few seconds per month when empty).
Store preferably in a dry room.

Frequent Questions
CAUTION : Unplug the machine before any work is carried out.
Problem Possible solution
The mixer does not start
- Check that the unit is connected to the power supply.
- Check the power supply (power failure).
- Check that the circuit breaker button inside the control
box is set to ON.
- Check the condition of the fuses.
The mixer does not heat
- Check that the POWER button is properly activated (4).
- Check that the ON/OFF button (5) is in the ON position.
- Check the setting of the electronic regulator (2).
- Check that the emergency stop button (7) is unlocked
(turn it slightly to the right).
The screw does not turn
- Check the condition of the circuit breaker in the housing.
- Check that the rotation direction switch (6) is not set to 0.
- Check that the emergency stop button (7) is unlocked
(turn it slightly to the right).
The mixer leaks around the
screw
- Check that the cable glands are properly tightened.
Tighten them if necessary.
