SlopeSafety
•Reviewthetractionunitspecicationstoensure
thatyoudonotexceeditsslopecapabilities.
•Slopesareamajorfactorrelatedtolossofcontrol
androlloveraccidents,whichcanresultinsevere
injuryordeath.Youareresponsibleforsafeslope
operation.Operatingthemachineonanyslope
requiresextracaution.
•Reviewandunderstandtheslopeinstructionsin
themanualandonthetractionunit.
•Evaluatethesiteconditionstodetermineifthe
slopeissafeformachineoperation,including
surveyingthesite.Alwaysusecommonsense
andgoodjudgmentwhenperformingthissurvey.
•Reviewtheslopeinstructionslistedbelowfor
operatingthemachineonslopesandtodetermine
whetheryoucanoperatethemachineinthe
conditionsonthatdayandatthatsite.Changes
intheterraincanresultinachangeinslope
operationforthemachine.
•Avoidstarting,stopping,orturningthemachineon
slopes.Avoidmakingsuddenchangesinspeedor
direction.Maketurnsslowlyandgradually.
•Donotoperateamachineunderanyconditions
wheretraction,steering,orstabilityareinquestion.
•Removeormarkobstructionssuchasditches,
holes,ruts,bumps,rocks,orotherhiddenhazards.
Tallgrasscanhideobstructions.Uneventerrain
couldoverturnthemachine.
•Beawarethatoperatingthemachineonwet
grass,acrossslopes,ordownhillmaycausethe
machinetolosetraction.Lossoftractiontothe
drivewheelsmayresultinslidingandalossof
brakingandsteering.
•Useextremecautionwhenoperatingthemachine
neardrop-offs,ditches,embankments,water
hazards,orotherhazards.Themachinecould
suddenlyrolloverifawheelgoesovertheedge
ortheedgecavesin.Establishasafetyarea
betweenthemachineandanyhazard.
•Identifyhazardsatthebaseoftheslope.If
therearehazards,mowtheslopewithapower
walk-behindmower.
•Ifpossible,keeptheattachmentloweredtothe
groundwhileoperatingonslopes.Raisingthe
attachmentwhileoperatingonslopescancause
themachinetobecomeunstable.
•Useextremecautionwithotherattachments.
Thesecanchangethestabilityofthemachineand
causealossofcontrol.Alwayskeepthemachine
ingearwhengoingdownslopes.Donotcoast
downhill(applicableonlytogear-driveunits).
OperatingTips
•Brushtheeldbytowingtheattachmentwhile
drivingforward.
•Donotoperatethetractionunitinreversewhile
towingtheattachment;otherwise,damagetothe
tractionunitandattachmentmayoccur.
•Usecautionwhileturningtoensurethatthe
reartireofthetractionunitdoesnotcontactthe
attachment.
•Tooptimizeperformanceandlifeoftheproduct,
onlyoperatetheattachmentwhengroomingthe
intendedapplicationarea.
•Donotoperatethetractionunitatspeeds
greaterthan12km/h(7.5mph)whiletowingthe
attachment.
•Removetheattachmentfromthetractionunitand
storeitinthecargobedofthetractionunitwhile
transportingit.
Note:Use2peopletoliftthebrush;otherwise,tilt
andslidethebrushintothecargobedsothat1
persondoesnotlifttheentireweightofthebrush.
Ifthetractionunitdoesnothaveacargobed,
transporttheattachmentusingtheoptionalwheel
set;contactyourauthorizeddistributor.
•Theoptimaloperationspeedwilldependonthe
applicationoftheattachment.
•Afterdeterminingtheoptimaloperationspeedfor
theapplication,maintainthatspeedconsistently.
•Forbestresults,groomtheapplicationareausing
aslightlyoverlappingpattern.

StorageSafety
•Beforeadjusting,cleaning,storing,orrepairingthe
machine,parktheitonalevelsurface;engage
theparkingbrakeofthetractionunit;shutoffthe
engine;removethekey;andwaitforallmovement
tostopbeforeleavingthetractionunit.
•Storethemachineonthestoragestands
positionedonarm,levelsurfacesothatitdoes
notsinkortipover.
•Storethemachineawayfromareasofhuman
activity.
•Donotallowchildrentoplayonoraroundthe
storedmachine.
PreparingtheMachinefor
Storage
Important:Donotusebrackishorreclaimed
watertocleanthemachine.
Whenthemachineisstoredforalongperiod,doout
thefollowingprocedure:
1.Cleanoffanydirtorgreasethatmayhave
accumulatedonthemachineoranyofthe
movingparts.
2.Touchupanyscratchesonthepaintedsurfaces.
3.Replaceanymissingordamageddecals.
4.Storethemachineinsideadry,securebuilding.
Insidestoragereducesmaintenance,givesa
longerworkinglife,andincreasestheresidual
valueofthemachine.Ifinsidestorageisnot
available,coverthemachinewithaheavysheet
ortarpaulinandsecureittightly.
Important:Whenstoringtheattachment,do
notallowthebrushtotouchthegroundorother
objectstoavoidbendingthebristles.
