1.Removethe2angenutssecuringthegroomeraccess
covertothegroomercoverandsetthemaside(Figure
2).
2.Removethe2ange-headboltssecuringthegroomer
coverplateandgaskettothegroomeraccesscover
(Figure2).
Note:Discardthebolts,thecoverplate,andthe
gasket.
3.Removethe2groomercovermountingnutsandsave
them.

Important:Donotovertightenthenuts.
8.Removethestraightgreasettingatthefrontofthe
sideplateandinstallthe90°greasettinginthesame
spot(Figure3).
Note:Installthe90°greasettingsothatitfaces
rearward.

inlightcontactwitheachbearinghousing(Figure6).

proceedasfollows:
A.Loosenthe2angelocknutssecuringthe
roller-brushmountingbrackettothecutting-unit
sideplate.
B.Rotatetheroller-brushbearinghousinguntilthe
brushplateisparalleltothecutting-unitsideplate
andthereisanevengapbetweenthebrushplate
andthegroomercover.
C.Tightenthe2angelocknutssecuringthe
roller-brushmountingbrackettothecutting-unit
sideplate.
PositioningtheRollerBrush
1.Loosenthe2boltssecuringeachrollerbrushbearing
housingtotherollerbrushmountingbracket(Figure
8).

topoftheidlerpulley(Figure11).

Theouterfacesofthedriveanddrivenpulleys
shouldbeinlinewithin0.7mm(0.03inch).

•Ensurethatthebrushisparalleltotherollerwith1.5mm
(0.060inch)clearancetolightcontact.
•Greasethettingsevery50hoursandaftereverywashing.
•Whenreplacingtherollerbrush,torquetheJ-boltsto2
to3N∙m(20to25in-lb).
•Whenreplacingthedrivenpulley,torquethenutto36
to45N∙m(27to33ft-lb).
•Whenreplacingthedrivepulley,torquetheboltto47
to54N∙m(35to40ft-lb).
Important:Backlappingattheincorrectreelspeed
mayloosenandstripthedrive-pulleythreads.
Refertothecuttingunit Operator’ s Man ual forthe
backlappingprocedure.
Note:Therollerbrush,theidlerbearing,andthebeltare
consideredconsumableitems.
CheckingthePulleyAlignment
1.Thedrivenpulley(attheroller-brushshaft)canmove
inorout(Figure22).
Makenoteofwhichwaythepulleyneedstomove.
