9. Theequipmentshouldnotbeexposedtoanysharp
edges, abrasive surfaces, chemical products, or
any source of heat.
10. Theequipmentcoveredbythismanualmustnotbe
usedforanyotherapplicationotherthantherescue
applicationforwhichitisdesigned.Itshouldnotbe
used,forexample,forbungeecordjumping,oras
a fall protection system for work at heights. This
equipmentisnotafallarrestdevice.
11. Before using the equipment, make sure the
evacuation path is free of any obstacles.
12. Itisrecommendedtoperformaninitialsuspension
testfromalimitedheightinasafelocationtomake
surethattherescuestrapisproperlyadjustedand
provides an acceptable level of comfort for the
intendeduse.
13. Therescuestrapisdesignedtoevacuatepersons
weighingbetween30and150kg.
14. Arescuestrapmustonlybeusedtoevacuateone
person at a time.
15. The evacuation system anchor point must be
located above the user’s waist and must comply
withtherequirementsofstandardEN795orhavea
strengthdesignedtowithstand12kN.
16. The rescue strap fastening point, used for the
evacuation operation, must be located above the
user’s waist (centre of gravity). To ensure this,
usethevariousadjustmentpointsprovidedonthe
rescuestrap(seeg.5).
17. Avisualinspectbeforeeachuseismandatory.
18. Beforeusingthisequipment,makesuretocheckthe
conditionofthecomponentsformingthecomplete
rescuesystem:anchorpoint,rescuestrap,locking
ofbuckles,fasteningpointsandconnectors.
19. A rescue strap which has not been inspected
over the past 12 months shall not be used. It
shall be safely removed to prevent any use until
authorisationinwritingbyaqualiedtechnician.
20. Shouldyouhaveanydoubtsconcerningthesafety
oftheequipmentoriftheequipmentisnotvisiblyin

itisabsolutelynecessary,inordertoensuresafe,
ecientuseoftheequipment, that the supervisor
and/or rescuer fully read and understand the
informationcontained in this manual.Thismanual
mustbekeptavailabletoallsupervisorandrescue
personnel. Additional copies can be provided on
request.
2. Forthesafetyoftherescuerandthepersontobe
evacuated, should the equipment covered by this
manual be re-sold outside the initial country for
whichitwasintended,theresellermustprovidethis
manual,translatedintothelanguageofthecountry
inwhichtheequipmentwillbeused.
3. If the equipment covered by this manual is to
be entrusted to a salaried or related worker, all
applicableworkregulationsmustbeobserved.
4. Rescue operations must only be performed by a
rescuer properly trained and qualied for rescue
operations at heights or by rescuers under the
supervisionofatrainedsupervisor.
