any signs of damage to TRACTEL® or to your
distributor.
6. Make sure that any person to which
installation or maintenance of your fall arrest
device has been entrusted is perfectly familiar
in use of the device and is qualied to ensure
all the safety requirements.
7. The fall arrest device must only be installed
and maintained under conditions satisfying
all the safety requirements of the regulations
applicable to the device category.
8. TRACTEL® shall not be held liable for any
consequences resulting from use of the fall
arrest device in an installation conguration
not described in this manual.
9. The fall arrest device must never be mounted
on a lifting or pulling installation for which the
working load limit exceeds the working load
limit of the Blocstop™ BS fall arrest device
as indicated in this manual. The fall arrest
devices must never be used in an explosive
environment.
10.Any changes made to the fall arrest device
without TRACTEL® authorisation shall
release TRACTEL® of any liability, especially
as concerns replacement of genuine parts by
parts from another source.
11.The fall arrest device must be inspected
periodically by a technician as indicated in
this manual.
12.To ensure safe use of the fall arrest device,
only wire ropes specially designed by
TRACTEL® for these fall arrest devices must
be used.
13.When the fall arrest device is not used, it
should be placed out of reach of all persons
not authorised to use it.
14.On denitive removal from service of the fall
arrest device, the device should be scrapped
under conditions preventing any future use
of the device. All environment protection
regulations must be observed.
15.The fall arrest and lifting or pulling wire rope
used in the installation must be in good
condition to ensure correct, safe use of the
fall arrest device. The condition of the wire
ropes must be checked each time before
using the lifting or pulling installation as
indicated in the “Periodic maintenance and
inspection” section. Any wire rope showing
signs of damage should be scrapped.
Important safety information
1. Before installing the Blocstop™ BS fall
arrest device, to ensure safe, e󰀩cient use
of the device, make sure you have carefully
read this manual and clearly understood the
rules and instructions detailed. A copy of this
manual should always be available to all
installers and operators. Additional copies
can be obtained on request to TRACTEL®.
2. The Blocstop™ BS fall arrest device
described in this manual can be installed in a
material’s lifting or pulling installation.
3. Before installing your fall arrest system, you
must be appropriately trained in integration of
the fall arrest system in the lifting or pulling
installation.
4. Do not install the fall arrest device if any of
the markings, as shown in the “Markings”
section of this manual, are not in place or are
illegible. Labels can be supplied on request.
These must be fastened to the device before
continuing any installation operation.
5. As indicated in this manual, you must
continuously monitor the condition of your
fall arrest device and make sure it is properly
maintained. Return any device which shows

1. Denitions and pictograms
The following terms are used in this manual:
“DANGER”: For remarks aimed at
preventing injury to personnel, whether fatal,
serious or minor.
“IMPORTANT”: For remarks aimed at
preventing a failure, damage to the product,
equipment or environment, but not directly
representing a life or health hazard for the
operator or any other persons.
“NOTE”: For remarks concerning
precautions to be taken to ensure correct
installation, use and maintenance of the
equipment, under safe and comfortable
conditions, with no reference to any possible
damage or hazard to personnel.
“Load lifting or pulling wire rope”: Wire rope
installed on lifting or pulling hoist and used to lift
or pull a load.
“Fall arrest wire rope”: wire rope on which the
fall arrest device is installed.
“Installer”: person or department in charge of:
• installation of the fall arrest device in the
lifting or pulling installation,
• removal from service,
• transportation for storage,
• storage.
“Operator”: person or department using or
installing the lifting or pulling installation.
“Technician”: skilled, qualied person familiar
with the fall arrest device and in charge of
maintenance and inspection of the fall arrest
device as described in this manual.
2. Description of fall arrest devices
The Blocstop™ fall arrest device is an additional
fall arrest device installed on a TIRFOR®or
TIRAK™ fall arrest wire rope designed to stop a
load in the event of a fall.
– Type BS manual unlock device: can be
mounted on lifting and pulling installations for
materials and equipment. In the event of a
hoist failure or rupture of the lifting or pulling
wire rope, the fall arrest device blocks the load.
This fall arrest device is installed directly on the
load lifting or pulling wire rope.
“IMPORTANT”: The Blocstop™ fall arrest
device is a quasi-machine as dened by
machinery directive 2006/42/CE. Use of the
fall arrest device is prohibited so long as the
lifting or pulling installation in which the fall
arrest device is to be integrated has not been
declared as compliant with the requirements
of the machinery directive or with the national
measures reecting this directive in the country
in which the device will be used.
The Blocstop™ fall arrest device is sized for a
usability factor of 4.
Each fall arrest device has been functionally
tested at its working load limit prior to shipment.

The Blocstop™ type BS fall arrest device (g. 1)
is basically formed by a system of self-clamping
jaws (item g, g. 1) mounted in a zinc-plated
steel casing.
The unit is connected by its shackle (item e,
g.1) to an anchor point (item 8, g. 21) with a
sling.
So long as the wire rope (item b, g.1) moves
in the fall arrest device in the pulling direction
indicated by the arrow (item c, g.1), the jaws
automatically open and allow the wire rope to
slide. Conversely, as soon as the wire rope in the
fall arrest device moves in the opposite direction,
with respect to the pulling direction (item c, g.1),
the jaws immediately close on the wire rope and,
as with the TIRFOR® principle, clamp the wire
rope with a force proportional to the load.
To allow controlled descent of the load, the
Blocstop™ fall arrest device can be unlocked
by pulling on the stirrup (item d, g. 1) in the
direction of the arrow. This operation can only be
performed provided there is no load on the fall
arrest device. A return spring keeps the stirrup
in place against the fall arrest device (shown by
bold dotted line in g. 1).
The shackle (with its cotter pin) (item e, g. 1) is
mounted on the fall arrest device optionally.
3. Composition of a standard
supply
Each Blocstop™ fall arrest device is supplied
with this manual and an incorporation statement.
These documents are contained in a plastic bag
fastened to the unit.

5. Installation
As specied in §2, the BS fall arrest device
can be used on material’s lifting and pulling
installations.
5.1. Installation of fall arrest devices
IMPORTANT: The fall arrest device
mounting system must provide a tensile strength
of at least four times the nominal capacity of
the Blocstop™ BS fall arrest device. This is
indispensable to ensure the mechanical strength
of the installation should a fall occur.
Before you begin to install the fall arrest device,
check that the unit is in good visible condition
and, in particular that:
– there are no signs of impact or deformation on
the fall arrest device,
– the stirrup (item d, g. 1) swivels freely on its
swivel pin,
– the marking on the device is legible and
compliant with the information in the “markings”
section for the unit,
– the holes (items a and f, g. 1) are neither
soiled or obstructed.
“NOTE”: The fall arrest device is supplied
with a shackle (item e, g. 1) optionally. Any other
shackle having the following characteristics can
be used:
– BS 15 and BS20: shackle (min. opening A = 38
mm, g. 26, with Ø12 pin and cotter pin (item h,
g. 1) with working load limit of 1.6 t.
– BS35: shackle (min. opening A = 55 mm,
g. 33, equipped with Ø22 pin and a cotter pin
(item h, g. 1) with working load limit of 3.2 t.
5.2. Preparation of wire ropes
See §5.4.
5.3. Assembly and installation of lifting
wire rope in fall arrest device for a
load lifting or pulling installation
(g. 21)
”NOTE”: The fall arrest device can
be adapted to any lifting or pulling device
implementing a feed-through wire rope
(TIRFOR® manual hoist or TIRAK™ electric
hoist) equipped with a TIRFOR® or TIRAK™
wire rope.
Fig. 21 illustrates installation of the fall arrest
device with a TIRFOR® hoist implementing
a feed-through wire rope; the installation
procedure is as follows:
– secure the fall arrest device (item 3, g. 21) by
its shackle (item 6, g. 21) to the anchor point
(item 8, g. 21) using a sling (item 1, g. 21).
IMPORTANT: make sure that the fall arrest
device is always properly aligned with the lifting
or pulling wire rope and that the slack in the sling
does not exceed 5 cm to prevent any excessive
jolting if a lifting or pulling system failure occurs.
– secure the TIRFOR® (item 2, g. 21) to an
anchor point (item 10, g. 21),
– release the TIRFOR® to allow insertion of the
wire rope (see TIRFOR® manual),

– insert the lifting wire rope (item 4, g. 21)
through the hole (item a, g. 1) of the fall
arrest device and have the wire rope come out
through the exit hole (item f, g. 1),
– run the lifting wire rope through a spacer tube
(item 9, g. 21). This piece is placed between
the TIRFOR® and the fall arrest device to
serve as a stop for the fall arrest device when
the cable moves in the device in the pulling
direction (item c, g. 1),
– run the wire rope through the TIRFOR® and
engage the TIRFOR® (see TIRFOR® manual).
IMPORTANT: The length of the spacer (item
9, g. 1) must be su󰀩cient to not interfere with
movement of the unlock stirrup of the fall arrest
device (item d, g. 1).
5.4. Preparation of wire ropes
DANGER: The fall arrest wire ropes are
special wire ropes. Use of any wire rope other
than those recommended by TRACTEL® can
result in a serious malfunction when the fall
arrest system is used.
Make sure that the wire rope lengths are
compliant with the recommendations of the
lifting system installation manual.
Regularly check the condition of the fall arrest
wire rope. In particular, check that:
• the wear of the wire rope is <10% of its nominal
diameter Øc (g. 20),
• the wire rope does not show any deformation
or damage as detailed in the manual for the
lifting device.
IMPORTANT: Check that the fall arrest wire
rope is always lightly greased. Only multiple
purpose o󰀨-the-shelf greases should be used.
Do not use lubricants containing molybdenum
disulde or graphite additives.
6. Utilisation
NOTE: Protect the fall arrest devices
against soiling. Take the necessary measures
to prevent foreign matter from getting into
the unit with the fall arrest wire rope. This
recommendation applies in particular in those
cases where concrete may be projected or
synthetic resins sprayed, or others.
Deposits of this kind can result in malfunctions
representing a safety hazard for the operators.
Utilisation of the fall arrest device is identical
when used on either a load lifting and pulling
wire rope (g. 21).
Once you have completed the necessary checks
as detailed in §5.1, you can proceed to use the
system.
IMPORTANT: When lifting or pulling a
load, i.e. when the wire rope moves into the fall
arrest device, the jaws open slightly, creating no
resistance to passage of the wire rope. Always
make sure that the wire rope slides freely in
the unit. If this is not the case, check that the
ballast weight is correctly positioned. If so,
replace the fall arrest device by an equivalent
serviceable device and return the defective unit
to TRACTEL® or to an approved repair agent for
overhaul.
IMPORTANT: To lower or release the load,
the fall arrest device must be unlocked manually
by raising the stirrup (item d, g. 1) and holding
it in the up position throughout the lowering
operation (g. 23). In the event of a hoist failure
or rupture of the lifting or pulling wire rope,
simply release the stirrup; the fall arrest device
unlocks immediately. In the event of danger, you
will instinctively release the stirrup as a natural
self-protection response.
IMPORTANT: Since the fall arrest device
cannot be unlocked under load, the unlock stirrup
must be raised before lowering or releasing the
load. If by operator inadvertence, the fall arrest
device locks, the device can be unlocked by
slightly bringing up the load in order to release
the fall arrest device from the load.
7. Removal and storage
DANGER: Make sure there is no load on
the fall arrest device before you proceed to
remove it. The suspended platform or load must
be set on the ground.

– store the fall arrest device after cleaning and
greasing it (see § Maintenance).
8. Safety device
Blocstop™ BS fall arrest device
The fall arrest system functions automatically
when:
– a lowering operation is initiated: the operator
must lift the load using the hoist; the fall arrest
device releases its grip on the wire rope
automatically,
– a lifting or pulling hoist failure occurs: an
emergency operation must be organised to
recover the materials load.
IMPORTANT: You must observe the removal
from service recommendations in the lifting
system installation manual.
Removal of BS fall arrest device when used on
load lifting or pulling system:
– set the load on the ground or block the pulled
load by appropriate means,
– withdraw the wire rope from the hoist (see
hoist manual),
– withdraw the wire rope from the fall arrest
device while holding the unlock stirrup raised,
– separate the fall arrest device shackle (item 6,
g. 21) from the sling (item 1, g. 21),
– reinstall the shackle (item 6, g. 21) on the fall
arrest device,

12. Prohibited improper uses
Safe installation and use of your fall arrest device
will be ensured by following the instructions
given in this manual. You should however refrain
from the following.
Do not:
– secure the fall arrest device by any means
other than that recommended in this manual,
– install or use the fall arrest device using a
damaged wire rope,
– use the fall arrest device on a lifting or pulling
installation for which the working load limit
exceeds the working load limit of the fall arrest
device,
– use the fall arrest device without rst having
completed the checks described in this manual,
– use the fall arrest device for any operation
other than those for which it is intended, or
install the device in any way other than that
described in this manual,
– apply a load, other than the ballasting weight,
to the slack strand of the fall arrest wire rope,
– use the fall arrest device in an explosive
environment (device not compliant with ATEX
directive) or use the device in any highly
corrosive environment,
– use the fall arrest device at temperatures less
than -10°C or greater than +50°C,
– use any other means for operating other than
the stirrup or handle on the BS fall arrest
device,

– use the fall arrest device to perform lifting or
pulling operations,
– use the fall arrest device if it has not been
inspected for more than 1 year,
– use the fall arrest device without rst having
checked that all its safety equipment operates
correctly,
– use the fall arrest device with any wire rope
other than a genuine TRACTEL® wire rope,
– actuate the stirrup on the BS fall arrest device
with load,
– make any changes to the fall arrest device,
– interfere in any way with movement of the
stirrup or handle on the BS fall arrest device,
– block the BS fall arrest device in a xed
position or prevent it from self-aligning on the
lifting or pulling wire rope,
– strike the control components on the fall arrest
device,
– use chemical products (acids, chlorinated
products) to clean the fall arrest device,
– use the BS fall arrest device on man lifting
installations.
13. Markings
Each fall arrest device is engraved (g. 3) with
the following information:

f: AA = last 2 years of the year of manufacture,
MM = month of manufacture
g. Device serial no.

conçus spécialement pour ces appareils

2. L’appareil antichute Blocstop™ BS tel que
décrit dans cette notice, peut être assemblé
dans une installation de levage ou de traction
de charge de matériel.
3. Avant d’assembler ce matériel antichute, il
est indispen sable d’avoir reçu une formation
à son intégration dans l’installation de levage
ou de traction.
4. Ne pas assembler l’appareil antichute si l’une
des inscriptions gurant au § « Marquage »
de la présente notice n’est plus présente ou
lisible. Des étiquettes peuvent être fournies
sur demande. Elles doivent être collées sur
l’appareil avant de continuer l’assemblage.

15.Le bon état du câble antichute de
l’installation de levage ou de traction est une
condition essentielle de sécurité et de bon
fonctionnement de l’appareil. Le contrôle
du bon état du câble doit être e󰀨ectué avant
chaque utilisation de l’installation de levage
ou de traction comme indiqué au chapitre
« Entretien et vérication périodique’’. Tout
câble présentant des signes de détérioration
doit être mis au rebut.
APPLICATIONS PARTICULIÈRES : pour toute
application spéciale en levage de personnel,
n’hésitez pas à vous adresser à TRACTEL®.
1. Denitions et pictogrammes
Dans ce manuel, les termes suivants signient :
« DANGER » :Pour les commentaires
destinés à éviter des dommages aux personnes,
notamment des blessures, qu’elles soient
mortelles, graves ou légères.
« IMPORTANT » :Pour les commentaires
destinés à éviter une défaillance, ou un
dommage matériel du produit ou de l’équipement
ou de l’environnement, mais ne mettant pas
directement en danger la vie ou la santé de
l’opérateur ni d’autres personnes.
« NOTE » : Pour les commentaires
concernant les précautions nécessaires à suivre
pour assurer un assemblage, une utilisation
et un entretien e󰀩caces et commodes, sans
implication de dommage.
« Câble de levage ou de traction de
charge » : est assemblé sur le treuil de levage
ou de traction et permet le levage ou la traction
de la charge.
« Câble antichute » : câble sur lequel est
assemblé l’appareil antichute.
« Installateur » : personne ou service
responsable :
• de l’assemblage de l’appareil antichute
dans l’installation de levage ou de traction,
• de la mise hors service,
• de son transport en vue du stockage,
• de son rangement.
« Opérateur » : personne ou service opérant
dans l’utilisa tion de l’installation de levage ou de
traction.
« Technicien » : personne qualiée,
compétente, et fami lière de cet appareil
antichute, en charge des opérations d’entretien
et de vérication de l’appareil antichute décrites
dans la présente notice.
2. Description des appareils
antichute
L’appareil antichute Blocstop™ est un dispositif
antichute additionnel, qui, assemblé sur un
câble antichute métallique du type TIRFOR® ou
TIRAK™ garantit l’arrêt de la charge en cas de
chute.
– L’appareil à déverrouillage manuel type BS
peut être assemblé sur les installations de
levage ou de traction de charge de matériel.
En cas de défaillance du treuil ou de rupture
du câble de levage ou de traction, cet appareil
antichute permet de bloquer la charge. Cet
appareil antichute est assemblé directement
sur le câble de levage ou de traction de charge.
« IMPORTANT »: L’appareil antichute
Blocstop™ est une quasi machine conformément
à la dénition de la directive machine 2006/42/
CE. La mise en service est interdite tant que
l’installation de levage ou de traction, dans
laquelle doit être incorporée la présente quasi-
machine, n’aura pas été déclarée conforme aux
dispositions de la directive machine ou, aux
dispositions nationales de transposition de cette
directive dans le pays de mise en service.
L’appareil antichute Blocstop™ est dimensionné
pour un coe󰀩cient d’utilisation égal à 4.
Chaque appareil antichute a fait l’objet d’un
essai de fonctionnement à charge nominale
avant expédition.

Principe de fonctionnement de l’appareil
antichute Blocstop™ type BS :

L’appareil antichute Blocstop™ type BS (g. 1)
est constitué essentiellement d’un système à
mâchoires auto serrantes (rep. g g. 1) contenu
dans un carter en acier zingué.
L’appareil est relié par sa manille (rep. e g. 1)
à un point d’ancrage (rep. 8 g. 21) avec une
élingue.
Tant que le câble (rep. b g. 1) se déplace dans
l’appareil antichute dans la direction de traction
indiquée par la èche (rep. c g. 1) les mâchoires
s’ouvrent automatiquement et laissent glisser le
câble. Par contre dès que le câble se déplace
dans l’appareil anti-chute dans le sens contraire
à la direction de traction (rep. c g. 1), ses
mâchoires se referment immédiatement sur
celui-ci et – selon le principe du TIRFOR® – le
serrent d’autant plus que la charge est plus
importante.
Pour permettre la descente contrôlée de la
charge, il est possible de déverrouiller l’appareil
antichute Blocstop™ en agissant sur l’étrier
(rep. d g. 1) dans le sens de la èche. Cette
manœuvre ne peut se faire que si l’appareil
antichute n’est pas en charge. Grâce à un
ressort de rappel, l’étrier de déverrouillage
est positionné contre l’appareil antichute
(représentation en trait fort, g. 1).
La manille (avec sa goupille de sécurité) (rep.
e g. 1) est montée sur l’appareil antichute en
option.
3. Composition d’une livraison
standard
Chaque appareil antichute Blocstop™ est
accompagné de la présente notice et d’une
déclaration d’incorporation. Ces documents sont
contenus dans un sachet plastique accroché à
l’appareil.

5. Assemblage
Comme spécié au §2, l’appareil antichute BS
est utilisable sur des installations de levage ou
de traction de charge de matériel.
5.1. Assemblage des appareils
antichute
IMPORTANT : les moyens de xation
de l’appareil antichute doivent garantir une
résistance à la rupture au moins égale à quatre
fois la capacité nominale de l’appareil antichute
Blocstop™ BS. Ceci est indispensable an de
garantir la tenue mécanique de l’installation lors
d’une chute.
Avant de procéder à l’assemblage de l’appareil
antichute, vériez que l’appareil est en bon état
apparent et en particulier que :
– il n’y a pas de traces de chocs ou de
déformation de l’appareil antichute,
– l’étrier (rep. d g. 1) pivote librement autour de
son axe de rotation,
– le marquage de l’appareil est lisible et
conforme au § « marquage de l’appareil »,
– les orices (rep. a et rep. f g. 1) ne sont pas
encrassés ou obturés.
« NOTE » : L’appareil antichute est livré
avec une manille (rep. e g. 1) en option. Tout
autre manille avec les caractéristiques suivantes
peut être utilisé :
– BS 15 et BS20 : manille (ouverture A mini.=
38 mm g. 26, munie d’un axe Ø12 et d’une
goupille rep. h g. 1) de charge maximale
d’utilisation 1,6 t.

5.2. Préparation des câbles

5.3. Assemblage et mise en place du
câble de levage dans l’appareil
antichute pour une installation de
levage ou de traction de charge
(g. 21)
« NOTE » : l’appareil antichute peut
s’adapter à n’importe quel appareil de levage
ou de traction à câble passant (treuil manuel du
type TIRFOR® ou électrique du type TIRAK™)
équipé d’un câble du type TIRFOR® ou TIRAK™.
La g. 21 illustre l’assemblage de l’appareil
antichute avec un treuil à câble passant du type
TIRFOR® et les étapes d’assemblages sont les
suivantes :
– amarrer l’appareil antichute (rep. 3 g. 21) par
sa manille (rep. 6 g. 21) au point d’ancrage
(rep. 8 g. 21) par l’intermédiaire d’une élingue
(rep. 1 g. 21).
IMPORTANT : veiller à ce que l’appareil
antichute reste toujours dans l’alignement du
câble de levage ou de traction et que le mou de
l’élingue ne dépasse pas 5 cm pour éviter une
trop grande secousse en cas de défaillance du
système de levage ou de traction.
– amarrer le TIRFOR® (rep. 2 g. 21) à un point
d’ancrage (rep. 10 g. 21),
– débrayer le TIRFOR® pour permettre
l’introduction du câble (voir notice TIRFOR®),
– introduire le câble de levage (rep. 4 g. 21)
par l’orice (rep. a g. 1) de l’appareil antichute
puis le faire déboucher par l’orice (rep. f
g. 1),
– passer le câble de levage au travers d’un tube
entretoise (rep. 9 g. 21). Cette pièce placée
entre le TIRFOR®‚ et l’appareil antichute sert
de butée à l’appareil antichute quand le câble
se déplace dans l’appareil dans la direction de
traction (rep. c g. 1),
– passer le câble de part et d’autre du TIRFOR®
et embrayer le TIRFOR® (voir Notice TIRFOR®).
IMPORTANT : la longueur du tube entretoise
(rep. 9 g. 1) doit être su󰀩samment importante
pour ne pas gêner le débattement de l’étrier de
déverrouillage de l’appareil antichute (rep. d
g. 1).
5.4. Préparation des câbles
DANGER : Les câbles antichute sont des
câbles spéciaux. L’utilisation d’autres câbles que
ceux préconisés par TRACTEL® peut causer un
disfonctionnement grave lors de l’utilisation du
dispositif.
Assurez-vous que les longueurs de câble sont
conformes aux préconisations de la notice
d’assemblage de l’installation de levage.
Contrôler régulièrement l’état du câble antichute.
En particulier vérier que :
• l’usure du câble est < à 10% de son diamètre
nominal Øc (g. 20),
• le câble ne présente pas de déformation ou
d’endommagement suivant les préconisations
de la notice de l’appareil de levage.
IMPORTANT : Veiller à ce que le câble
antichute soit en permanence légèrement
graissé. Utiliser uniquement des graisses
à usages multiples du commerce. Ne pas
utiliser de lubriants contenant du bisulfure de
molybdène ou des additifs graphités.
6. Utilisation
NOTE : protéger les appareils antichute
contre l’encrassement. Prendre les mesures
nécessaires pour que les corps étrangers
n’entrent pas dans l’appareil avec le câble
antichute. Cette consigne est valable
particulièrement dans le cas de projection
de béton ou de pulvérisation de résines
synthétiques, ou autres.
De tels dépôts peuvent provoquer des défauts
de fonctionnement entraînant des risques pour
les opérateurs.
L’utilisation de l’appareil antichute sur câble de
levage ou de traction de charge (g. 21).

IMPORTANT : respecter les préconisations
de mise hors service de la notice de l’installation
de levage.
Mise hors service de l’appareil antichute BS en
utilisation levage ou traction de charge :
– déposer la charge au sol ou bloquer la charge
tractée par un moyen approprié,
– extraire le câble du treuil (voir la notice du
treuil),
– extraire le câble de l’appareil antichute tout en
maintenant relevé l’étrier de déverrouillage,
– désolidariser la manille de l’appareil antichute
(rep. 6 g. 21) de l’élingue (rep. 1 g. 21),
– remonter la manille (rep. 6 g. 21) sur l’appareil
antichute,
– stocker l’appareil antichute après l’avoir
nettoyé et graissé (voir § “Entretien”).
8. Dispositif de securite
Appareil antichute Blocstop™ BS
Le dispositif antichute est automatique dès lors
que :
– une manœuvre de descente est engagée :
l’opérateur doit remonter la charge à l’aide du
treuil, l’appareil antichute lâche sa prise sur le
câble de façon automatique,
– il y a une défaillance du treuil de levage ou
de traction : une opération de secours doit
être envisagée pour reprendre la charge de
matériel.
Après avoir procédé aux vérications du §5.1,
vous pouvez procéder à l’utilisation.
IMPORTANT : Lors de la levée ou de la
traction d’une charge, c’est-à-dire lorsque
le câble rentre dans l’appareil antichute, les
mâchoires s’ouvrent légèrement et ne s’opposent
pas au passage du câble. Il faut toujours
s’assurer que le câble coulisse librement dans
l’appareil. Si ce n’est pas le cas, vérier que le
lest est correctement positionné, si c’est le cas,
remplacer l’appareil antichute par un appareil
équivalent qui fonctionne et retourner l’appareil
défectueux à TRACTEL® ou à un réparateur
agrée pour révision.
IMPORTANT : pour descendre ou relâcher la
charge, l’appareil antichute doit être déverrouillé
manuellement en relevant l’étrier (rep. d g. 1) et
en le maintenant relevé pendant toute l’opération
de descente (g. 23). En cas de défaillance du
treuil ou de rupture du câble de levage ou de
traction, il su󰀩t de relâcher l’étrier, le verrouillage
de l’appareil antichute est immédiat. En cas de
danger le fait de relâcher l’étrier est une réaction
quasi instinctive de sauvegarde de la personne.
IMPORTANT : Comme l’appareil antichute
ne peut être déverrouillé sous charge, il
faut relever l’étrier de déverrouillage avant
de descendre ou relâcher la charge. Si par
inattention de l’opérateur, un tel verrouillage
s’était produit, on peut déverrouiller l’appareil
antichute en remontant légèrement la charge en
vue de libérer l’appareil antichute de la charge.
7. Mise hors service et stockage
DANGER : Il est indispensable de placer
l’appareil antichute hors charge avant de
procéder à la mise hors service. La plate-forme
suspendue ou la charge doit être posée au sol.

un câble endommagé,
– d’utiliser l’appareil antichute sur une
installation de levage ou de traction dont la
charge maximale d’utilisation est supérieure
à la charge maximale d’utilisation de l’appareil
antichute,
– d’utiliser l’appareil antichute sans avoir
e󰀨ectué les vérications décrites dans la
présente notice,

opérations que celles auxquelles il est destiné
