1 Introduction
This manual is intended for users of the Trust Wireless Alarm Switch 200DS. The
Wireless Alarm Switch 200DS can be used with Trust alarm systems from the 200
series.
With this wireless magnetic contact you can secure windows and doors. As soon as
contact is broken, i.e. when a window or door is being opened, the magnetic contact
will transmit a signal to the alarm centre. The magnetic contact is also provided with a
panic button in order to activate the alarm in case of emergency.
The magnetic contact is protected against sabotage and is sold with a 9V alkaline
battery
2 Safety
2.1 General
1. Do not use this device in damp environments such as bathrooms, swimming
pools, etc.
2. Do not try to repair this device yourself.
3. Under the following circumstances disconnect the batteries and have the
device repaired by qualified personnel:
a) Fluid has entered the device;
b) The device has been dropped and/or the housing is damaged.
2.2 Batteries
1. The magnetic contact’s alkaline battery is not rechargeable. Do not try to
recharge these batteries. This may result in an explosion.
2. Do not throw the batteries in an open fire. The batteries may explode.
3. Never drill a hole in the batteries.
4. Keep the batteries out of the reach of small children.
5. When the batteries are empty, ask your local authority where you can dispose
of them.

3 Function description
For a summary of the various functions of the magnetic contact, see figure 1 and the
table below:
Function Description
AMagnetic block Magnetic contact for detection of doors or
windows being opened or closed.
BPanic button Button to immediately activate the alarm in case
of emergency
CLED Goes on when a signal has been transmitted, as
soon as an open contact is detected or if the
battery voltage is low.
4 Installation
To install the wireless magnetic contact, follow the steps below:
1. Remove the cover of the magnetic contact with a small coin or screw driver, by
positioning it between the edge of the cover(A) and then clicking it loose. See
figure 2.
2. Set your house code with the 8-component DIP switch (B). You can choose
any settings. Do make sure that all wireless sensors and remote controls have
the same code.
3. Set the zone code you want to assign to the magnetic contact with the 3-
component DIP switch (C). Consult the manual of your alarm system for
possible settings.
4. Install the magnetic contact on the door frame or window frame with the
enclosed screws (D-E, see figure 3).
5. Remove the cover of the magnetic block with a small screwdriver by lifting the
edge of the cover.
6. Install the magnetic block (F) on the door or the window as close to the
magnetic contact as possible with the enclosed screws (see figure 3), and click
the cover of the magnetic block back into place.
Note: Position the magnetic block along the side of the panic button,
with the horizontal lines of the housing at the same height.
Position the magnetic block in such a manner that the distance
between magnet and contact is as short as possible (optimum is
0.5 cm, keep it below 1.0 cm).
7. Connect the enclosed 9V alkaline battery to the battery plug and close the
cover. If the door or window is opened now, the contact is interrupted and the
transmitter transmits a signal to the alarm centre.
Note: If you cannot use screws to install the magnetic contact in a
certain situation, it is also possible to use double-sided tape.
However, this is not as good a method of installation as screws,
since tape may come loose and cause a false alarm.

5 Testing
For testing the magnetic contact, follow the instructions below:
1. Make sure the house code is the same as the one of the movement detector
and the remote control.
2. Push the magnetic contact’s ‘Panic’ button. If the alarm goes off the button
works properly.
3. Set the alarm centre to the test mode, press [your security code 4 numbers]
[*] [8] on your keyboard.
4. Interrupt the magnetic contact by opening the door or the window. If the alarm
centre beeps and the associated zone LED goes on, the magnetic contact
works properly.
5. Press your [your security code 4 numbers] [*] [8] again to switch off the test
mode of the alarm centre.

6 Questions & answers
Question Answer
Why is the status indication of
the magnetic contacts
incorrect?
This is probably the result of the magnetic
contacts operating poorly, confusing the
memory of the system. The system gets
confused if the door or window is opened and
closed within 1 second.
Check also whether the magnetic block has
been positioned as close as possible against
the magnetic contact for optimum functioning
(see chapter 4).
How many magnetic contacts
can I install on the system and
in a zone?
You can install as many magnetic contacts as
you wish, there is no limit.
How can I replace the battery of
the magnetic contact without
setting off the alarm?
Consult your alarm centre’s manual on
switching the alarm off temporarily before you
replace the battery.
