Remove four red shipping spacers located under metal
platform. (See Figure 1)

1. Plug the base's connector into external load cell
connector at the back. (See Figure 2)
2. Rotate base connector locking ring to secure.

TURNING INDICATOR ON/OFF
1. To turn the scale on, short press the ON/ZERO
OFF button. The indicator performs a display test,
momentarily displays software version, then enters
active weighing mode.
2. To turn the scale off, press and hold
the ON/ZERO OFF button until OFF
is displayed.

1. Press NO to begin editing. The first digit will begin
flashing.
2. Press NO to increase or BACK to
decrease digit value. Press YES to

NOTE: The new setting will
be displayed with all digits
flashing.
4. Press the YES button again to accept setting or NO
to resume editing.
5. To end current menu selection, press YES to advance

CHANGE UNIT OF MEASURE
SET UNIT OF MEASURE AT STARTUP
Set the unit of measure displayed at startup to g, kg, lb.,
oz., lb:oz or Auto (last unit in use when power was turned off).
1. Once in the setup menu, press NO until the Power
On Unit setting is displayed.
2. Press YES to enter the Power On Unit setting.
3. Press NO until the desired unit of measure is
displayed.
4. Press YES to accept the new unit of measure.

CALIBRATION MENU
INITIAL CALIBRATION
When scale is operated for first time, a zero and span
calibration are recommended to ensure accurate
weighing results.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that appropriate
calibration masses are available before
beginning calibration. Calibration weights
are sold separately.
NOTE: Ensure LFT switch/calibration lock is
in unlocked position before performing
calibration.
NOTE: GEO setting can be adjusted according
to your location. (See Geo Code Adjustment on
Page 6)
ZERO CALIBRATION
Zero calibration uses one calibration point and is
established with no weight on the scale. Use this method
to adjust for a different static load without affecting the
span or linearity calibration.
1. Long press Menu button until MENU is displayed.
2. Once display shows C.A.L, press YES button.
3. The display shows ZErO. Press YES button.
4. With no weight on the pan, press the YES button
to establish zero point.
5. The display will show --C--, and then -dONE- when
zero calibration is complete.
NOTE: If zero calibration has failed, CAL E will
be displayed for three seconds and previous
calibration data will be restored.
6. SPAN will show on display next. Press Exit button to exit.

SPAN CALIBRATION
1. Long press Menu button until MENU is displayed.
2. Wait for display to show C.A.L, then press YES button.
3. Short press NO button to navigate until SPAN
appears on screen, then press YES button.
4. Calibration point and unit will flash on display based
on scale capacity and unit set in menu
(example: 030.000 kg.).
NOTE: If calibration point does not need to be
changed, skip to step 7.
5. To change calibration point, short press NO until
desired number appears.
NOTE: Press BACK button to decrease digit
value.
6. Short press YES button to accept number and move
to next digit. Repeat for remaining digits.
7. Press YES button to accept calibration point. It will
then flash on the display.
8. Place a calibration weight of the specified weight
on the pan and press YES button.
NOTE: If zero calibration has failed, CAL E will
be displayed for three seconds and previous
calibration data will be restored.
9. The display will show --C-- and -dONE-when
calibration is complete.
10. Display will then show LIN. Press EX IT button to exit.
LINEARITY CALIBRATION
Linearity calibration uses three calibration points. The
full calibration point is established with a weight on
the pan. The mid calibration point is established with a
weight equal to half of the full calibration weight on the
pan. The zero calibration point is established with no
weight on the pan.
NOTE: Full and mid calibration points can
be altered by users during the calibration
procedure.
1. Long press MENU button until MENU appears on
display.
2. Wait for display to show C.A.L. Press YES button.
3. Short press NO button to navigate until LIN appears
on display.
4. 0kg. and calibration unit will be flashing on display.
With no weight on the pan, press the YES button to
establish zero point. The display will then show --C--.
5. The first calibration point and unit will flash on display
based on scale capacity and unit set in menu
(e.g. 015.000 kg).
NOTE: If calibration point does not need to be
changed, skip to step 7.
6. To change calibration point, short press NO until
desired number appears.
NOTE: Press BACK button to decrease digit
value.
7. Short press YES button to accept number and move
to next digit. Repeat for remaining digits.
8. Press YES button to accept calibration point. It will
then flash on the display.
9. Place a calibration weight of the specified weight
on the pan and press YES button. The display will
show --C--.
10. The second calibration point and unit will flash on
display based on scale capacity and unit set in
menu (example: 030.000 kg.).
11. Repeat steps 6-9.
NOTE: If zero calibration has failed, CAL E will
be displayed for three seconds and previous
calibration data will be restored.
12. The display will show --C--, and -dONE-when linearity
calibration is complete.
13. Display will then show GEO. Press EXIT button to exit.
GEO CODE ADJUSTMENT
Geographical Adjustment Factor (GEO) code is used
to adjust calibration based on current location.
1. Long press MENU button until MENU appears on
display.
2. Wait for display to show C.A.L. Press YES button.
3. Short press NO button to navigate
until GEO appears on display.
Press YES button.
4. GEO point will flash on display. Short press NO button
until desired GEO number appears. Press YES button
to accept.
NOTE: Press BACK button to decrease digit.
5. Display will show C.test when
complete. Press EXIT button to exit.

MANUAL TARE
1. When weighing an item that must be held in a
container, taring stores the container weight in
memory. Place empty container on the scale
(example 0.5 kg.) and press the TARE button.
Display will show net weight.
2. To clear the tare value, empty the scale and press
the TARE button. The display will show gross weight.
CHANGING UNITS OF MEASURE
Press and hold the PRINT UNITS button until the desired
measuring unit appears.
PRINTING DATA
1. Printing the displayed data to a printer or sending
data to a computer requires the communication
parameters are set in the print menu.
2. Press the PRINT UNITS button to send the displayed
data to the communication port.
APPLICATION MODES
Only modes enabled in the mode menu are displayed.
WEIGHING
Used to determine weight of items in selected unit of
measure (default factory setting).
1. Press and hold MODE button until WEIGH is displayed.
2. If needed, place an empty container on the pan
and press TARE button to tare.
TO CHECK TARE WEIGHT
1. Long press TARE button until
t.LJt is displayed.
2. Tare weight will then be displayed.
3. Add item to pan or container. The weight of the item
will then be displayed.
PARTS COUNTING
Used to count the number of pieces on weighing pan
based on an average piece weight (APW).
1. Press and hold the MODE button until
COUNT is displayed.
2. Display will now show C L r. P L J .
CLEARING A STORED APW
Press YES button and continue to next step.
RECALL AND USE PREVIOUS APW
Press NO button to begin counting.
NOTE: If display shows C L r. P A N , remove weight
on pan or press TARE button to tare.
3. Display shows default sample size of 10 (PUT. 10 ).
ESTABLISHING A NEW APW
4. To change sample size, short press NO button until
desired value shows on display.
NOTE: Available sample size selections are 2,
10, 20, 50 and 100.
NOTE: When Legal For Trade is turned on,
sample selection 5 will not be available.
Place selected quantity of pieces on pan and
press YES button for current table weight.
NOTE: During weighing
process, the display will
show -----.
NOTE: Ensure all pieces in sample are the same
to ensure accurate results.
NOTE: IF APW is betweeen 0.1d and 1d, the
display will show LO .rEF for 1.5 seconds. Scale
will then begin count.
NOTE: IF APW is less than 0.1d, the display will
show LO .rEF for 1.5 seconds. It will then return
to step three showing sample size. Replace a
heavier batch of samples and press YES button
to re-estableish an APW value.
BEGIN COUNTING
1. Place parts on pan and read displayed number.
The number of pieces and the PCS icon will be
displayed.
2. Short press FUNCTION button to temporarily display
the APW. APW is displayed for one second followed
by APW value with weighing unit..
CHECK
Used to compare the weight of items to a target weight
range.
Display color will change according to the comparing
result.
• Red indicates over target weight range.
• Green indicates within target weight range.
• Yellow indicates under target weight range.

SET CHECK LIMITS
1. Press and hold MODE button until CHECK is
displayed.
2. Display will show CLr.CHK.
USE EXISTING UNDER/OVER VALUE.
Press NO. Scale will then enter check mode directly.
TO SET NEW OVER/UNDER VALUES
Press YES button and continue to next step.
3. The display shows under. Press YES button to edit the
under value.
4. 000000 will flash on the display until number is set.
5. Short press the NO button until desired number
appears.
NOTE: Press BACK button to decrease digit.
NOTE: If negative value is necessary, press
BACK button and continue to next step.
6. Short press YES button to accept number and move
to next digit.
7. Repeat steps 3-6 for over values.
8. If set values are invalid, display
will show --N O-- and return to reset
under/over value. If values are valid,
scale will enter check mode.
NOTE: Short press FUNCTION button to display
the current under/over value.
POSITIVE CHECK
Used to determine when material added to scale is
within target weight range. Under/over values must be
postive and over value must be greater than under to
achieve accurate result.
1. Add material to pan until display turns green.
NEGATIVE CHECK
Used to determing when material removed from scale
is within target weight range. Under/over values must be
negative and under value must be larger than over to
achieve accurate result. (Example: Under value is -10;
over value is -15)
1. Place package or bin of material on scale and
press TARE button.
2. Remove a portion of the package or material until
display turns green.
NOTE: To continue weighing multiple portions
off the scale's pan, tare the scale between
each portion.
ZERO CHECK
Used when comparing subsequent samples to an initial
reference sample. Under value must be zero
or negatvie. Over value must be zero or positive.
1. Place reference sample on scale and press TARE
button.
2. Remove material from scale until display turns green.
TOTALIZATION
Used to manually or automatically accumulate multiple
weights. Statistical data (number of samples, total
weight, average weight, minimum/maximum weight and
difference in weight) is stored in memory for review and
printing.
FUNCTIONS
OFF (Off) – Disable the totalization function.
Manual (MANU) – Press FUNCTION button to perform
totalization manually.
NOTE: Manual is set as default totalization
function.
Auto (AUtO ) – Scale will perform totalization
automatically.
SETTING TOTALIZATION OPTION
1. Long press MENU button until MENU appears on
display. C.A.L will show on display when MENU
button is released.
2. Short press NO button until MODE appears on
display. Press YES button.
3. Short press NO button until tOtAL appears on
display. Press YES button.
4. Short press NO button to cycle through totalization
options. Press YES to confirm selection.
5. Press EXIT button to exit.

NOTE: If there is weight on the pan, the display
will show C L r. P A N until weight is removed or
TARE button is pressed to tare.
TOTALIZATION METHOD
NOTE: Items must be removed from pan before
next item can be totalized.
NOTE: Only stable weights are stored.
IMPORTANT! When Legal for Trade is turned
on, for NTEP models, gross and net weight
cannot be added to same total. If first weight
is recorded in gross, the future weights should
be recorded the same way. This also applies to
net weight.
MANUAL
Place an item on the pan and press the FUNCTION
button to add the weight to totalization.
AUTO
Place an item on the pan. The displayed value is
tatalized automatically.
A flashing icon indicates the scale has totalized the
weight successfully and will continue to flash until weight
is removed and pan is stable.
VIEW TOTALIZATION RESULTS
With no weight on pan, press the FUNCTION button to
view results.
NOTE: Results are displayed for one second
each.
TOTALIZATION RULES
Totalization operation will fail when:
• Current weight is unstable.
• Load's net weight is smaller than 5d.
• Overall totalized number is larger than 999,999.
• Total number of totalization exceeds 9,999 times.
LEGAL FOR TRADE
When the indicator is used in trade or a legally
controlled application, it must be set up, verified and
sealed in accordance with local weights and measures
regulations. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to
ensure that all pertinent legal requirements are met.
SETTINGS
Before verification and sealing, perform the following steps:
1. Verify that the menu settings meet the local weights
and measures regulations.
2. Perform a calibration. (See pages 7-8)
3. Turn indicator off.
TURNING SECURITY SWITCH ON
1. Disconnect power from indicator and open the
housing.
2. Turn security switch to ON. (See Figure 5)
3. Close housing, reconnect power and turn indicator
on.
VERIFICATION
A local weights and measures official or authorized
service agent must perform the verification procedure.
Please contact your local weights and measures office
for further details.

SEALING
Once scale has been verified, unit must be sealed to
prevent access to legally controlled settings.
When indicator is connecterd to an
Ohaus Defender 3000 series base with
EasyConnect™ function, no sealing is
necessary. Once indicator or base is
replayed with a new one, error message
Error 8.9 will show on display.
See Figures 6-7 for sealing methods.
When indicator is connected to a base that does
not include a memory module, but supports load
cell adapter connection, the connection between
the indicatior and base needs to be sealed with a
connector cover, sealing sticker or wire seal.
See Figures 8-9 for connector cover sealing methods.

MAINTENANCE
CAUTION! Disconnect the unit from
the power supply before cleaning.
• Do not use solvents, chemicals, alcohol, ammonia
or abrasives to clean the housing or control panel.
CLEANING
• Housing may be cleaned with a cloth dampened
with a mild detergent if necessary.
TROUBLESHOOTING

NOTE: Before using the indicator for the first time, the internal rechargeable battery should be fully
charged for 12 hours. The indicator can be operated during the charging process. The battery is
