ULTRAFLEX guarantees thatitsproductsarewell designedandfree frommanufacturingandmaterialdefects,
foraperiodoftwoyearsfromthedateofmanufacturing.
Fortheproductswhichareinstalledandusedonworkingorcommercialboatsthewarrantyislimitedto
oneyearfromthedateofmanufacturing.
Ifduringthis periodtheproductproves tobedefectiveduetoimpropermaterialsand/ormanufacture, the
manufacturerwill repairorreplacethedefectivepartsfree ofcharge.
Directorindirectdamageis notcoveredbythis warranty.Inparticularthecompanyisnotresponsibleandthis
warrantywillnotcoverthedamageresultingfromincorrectinstallationoruseoftheproduct(exceptfor
replacementorrepairofdefectivepartsaccordingtotheconditionsandtermsabove).

T73NRFCandT74NRFCmechanicalsteeringsystemsaredesignedtocontrolboats
equippedwithoutboard,inboardornonpowerassistedsterndriveengines.
SteeringsystemT73NRFCis usedforsinglecablesteeringhelms,whilesteering
systemT74NRFCisusedfordualcablesteeringhelms.Bothsystemsmustbe
usedwith ULTRAFLEX M66steeringcables.
T73NRFCandT74NRFCsteeringsystemsuse aPlanetaryGearDesign:three
satellitegearsrotateontheiraxis andatthesametimerotatearoundthecentral
helmaxis.Thisallowsforequaldistributionofenginetorqueoverthree points
ofthecentralgear,dividingandbalancingthesystemloads. Thebenefitsofthis
specialdesignareincreasedsystemlongevity,increasedefficiency andless
enginefeedbackcomparedtosinglepiniongearhelms.
T73NRFCandT74NRFCsteeringsystemsarealso equippedwithanon-reversible
system.It is madeupofaspecialpatenteddevicewhichallowsthehelmshaft
tolockuntilturnedbythedriver,maintainingtheboatdirectionandneutralizing
thefeedbackloadsonthesteeringcable.TheUltraflex non-reversible
mechanismmakesdrivingaboatsaferandeasier.
DO NOT USEONPOWERASSISTEDENGINES.
T73NRFCsteeringsystemisnottobeusedonboatsequippedwithenginesthat
exceedthemaximumhorsepowerratingoftheboatand/orthespeedof50knots
(57.5 mph).Incase ofengines whichexceedthespeedof50 knots, itis advisable
touse T74NRFCdualsteeringsystem.
DO NOT DISASSEMBLE ANYPART OFTHEHELMDURINGTHEINSTALLATION
OFTHECABLE.THEDISASSEMBLYOFTHECOMPONENTSCANGENERALLY

3.3Connectionofthecabletothehelm
1Determinethecorrectentrypositionofthecableintothehelmaccordingtothepropersteering
system.
PUSHOR PULL TURNINGDIRECTIONS
2Remove
protectivepipe
fromcable
ULTRAFLEX M66
andinsertthe
helix cable
intothehelm.
3Turnthe steeringwheelso as to"pull"the cableintothe helm,aligning
theendfittingrecess (A)withscrewhole(1).

4.1Safetyrulesduringinstallationanduse
OBSERVE STRICTLYthefollowingsafetyrules:
ULTRAFLEX declines all responsibilityincase theuserdoes notfollowthese rules anditis notresponsiblefor
negligencewhileusingthesystem.
-DONOTPUTYOURHANDSBETWEENMOVINGPARTS.
-Do notdisablethesafetydevices.
-Donotmodifyoradddevices tothesystem,without ULTRAFLEX writtenauthorisationortechnical
interventionwhichwillprovethemodificationinthereport.
-Do notuse this equipmentforapurpose differentfromtheoneithas beendesignedfor,whichis
specifiedintheinstallationandmaintenancemanual.
-Do notletunskilledstaff performtheinstallation.

-Duringinstallation,keepthesystemclean,topreventanyforeignbodytodamageit.Eventhesmallest
objectcouldcause permanentbutnotimmediatelyperceivabledamages.
-Avoidcablebends 200 mm (8").
