3-GETTING STARTED
3.1. Insert SIM card
U612 is a Dual SIM mobile phoneallowing you to use the facility of two
networks.ToinsertSIMcard(s):
Switchoffthemobilephoneandremovetherearcoverandbattery.
InserttheSIMcardcorrectlyinthecardslot(s)(Seefigurebelow).G/W
slotisfor3Gnetwork;GSlotisfor2G.
InsertSIMcardcarefully!
Finally insert the battery and replacethe rear cover of themobile
phone.

3.2. Insert Memory card
U612 allows you to expand external memory with a TF card, up to
32GB.
Power off the mobile phone, and then remove the rear cover and
battery.
Insertthememorycardintotheslot.
Finallyinsertthebatteryandtherearcoverofthemobilephone.
Useonlycompatiblememorycardsapprovedbywiththisdevice.
Incompatiblememorycardsmaydamagethecardorthedevicewillcorrupt
thedatastoredinthecard.

3.3. Unlock the Phone
YoumayneedtoprovidePIN,Password,ordrawapatterntounlock
yourphone.
Tounlockthescreen:
Pressthepowerkeytowakeupthephone.
Holdanddragtheunlockicontotherighttounlock.
You may be required to unlock your phone based on the unlock
methodinsettings.

Onthemainmenu,touchSettings>Security.
TouchSetupscreenlock.
Choosethetypeoflockingasdesired.Youcansetyourscreenlockon
thebasisofpattern,PIN,Passwordornone.
3.4. Using the Touch screen
Youcanusethetouchscreeninthefollowingways:
Tou ch: Acts on items on the screen, such as application and settings
icons,totypelettersandsymbolsusingtheonscreenkeyboard,orto
pressonscreenbuttons.
Touchandhold:Touchandholdanitemonthescreenuntilanaction
occurs.
Drag:Touchandholdanitemandmoveyourfingeronthescreenuntil
youreachthetargetposition.
Swipe or slide:Quicklyslideyourfingeracrossthesurfaceofthe
screen,(withoutdragginganitem).Forexample,slidethescreenupor
downtoscrollalist,
Double‐tap:Tapquicklytwiceonawebpage,map,orotherscreento
zoom.Forexample,double‐tapasectionofawebpageinBrowserto
zoom that section to fit the width of the screen. You can also
double‐taptocontroltzoom,inMaps,andinotherapplications.
Pinch:Insomeapplications(SuchasMaps,Browser,andGallery)you
canzoominandoutbyplacingtwofingersonthescreenatonceand
pinchingthemtogether(tozoomout)orspreadingthemapart(to
zoomin).
Rotate the screen:Onmostscreens,theorientationofthescreen
changesasyourotateit.Youcanturnthisfeatureonandoff.

Back:returnstothepreviousscreenyouwere
workingin,evenifitwasinadifferent
application.Canbeusedtohidethekeyboard.
The phone provides you with Context menus and Optionsmenusfor
accessingthefeaturesinanintuitiveway.

Youcan open contextmenuby touching key. Notallscreens
havecontextmenus.Ifyoutouch key inside application that has no
contextmenu,nothinghappens.

Youcanopenanoptionbytouchingandholdinganitemonthescreen.Not
allitemshaveoptionsmenus.

opens.

Youcan dialaphonenumber or touch a numberinyourcontacts.
Youcanalsoplacefromthecalllogorcontacts.
4.1. Make a Call
Tap t he icon on main menu or the home screen to dial the
desirednumber.
Touchthe icononmainmenuorthehomescreentomakeacall
fromcontact,groupsorfavorites.
Todialaninternationalnumber,touchandholdthe0keytoenterthe
Plus(+)symbol,andthenentertheinternationalcountryprefix,
followedbythephonenumber
Touchthe icontocallwithSIM1orSIM2.
PresstheVolumeUp/Downkeystoadjustthecallvolume.
YoucanaccessCallLogs,Contactsfromthedialerscreen.
Whileduringacall,touchthe icontoendacall.
4.2. Disable Phone Calls (Airplane mode)
Somelocationslikeairplanesmayrequireyoutoturnoffyourmobile,Wi‐Fi,
andBluetoothwirelessconnections.
PressandholdthePowerbutton.
TouchtheAirplanemode.
4.3. Disable SIM card
IfyouwanttoclosetheSIMcard,todoitgoto:
Settings
>SIMmanagement.
>turnoffSIM1/SIM2

Whenyousignin,thehomescreenopens.
TheHomescreenisyourstartingpointtoaccessallthefeatures on your
phone. Touch the mainmenu icon at the bottom of the screen to view all
installedapplications.
Touchandholdanemptyspottochange
wallpaper.
Thestatusbarshowsthetime,signalstrength,
batterystatus,andnotification.
Touchanicontolaunchthe
correspondingapplication;bottomicons
areaccessiblefromalldesktopscreens.

5.1. Open and Close the Launcher
TouchtheLauncherIcon toopenthemainmenu.
You have access to all applications installed onyour device and their
widgetswhenavailable.
Touchanapplicationtoopenandlaunchit.
Toadd anapplicationshortcuttothedesktopscreen,pressandholdit
until it vibrates and enters Home screen. Place it and release your
finger.
SlidetheLauncherleftorrighttobringmoreiconsintoview.
As soon as you install a new application, it comes in this list.

directlytouchWIDGETSatbelowofthescreen
Youcannotlaunchwidgetlikeanapplication;youcanonlyplace iton
desktopscreen.
PressandholdituntilitvibratesandentersHomescreen.Placeitand
releaseyourfinger.Acontextmenuopenstoconfigurethewidgetor resize
it,naturally,itdependsonthewidget.
PressHomeiconorBackicontoclosetheLauncher.
5.2. Switch to Recently Used Application
Pressandholdtheiconforafewseconds.
Touchanicontoopenitsapplication.Orpress toreturn
tothecurrentapplication.
5.3. Customize Home Screen
You can add applications, shortcuts, widgets, and other items to any
partoftheHomescreenorchangethewallpaper.
Applications:
Press toopentheHomescreen.
TouchtheLauncherIcon toopenthemainmenu.
Toaddanapplicationshortcuttothedesktopscreen,pressandhold
ituntilitvibratesandentersHomescreen.Placeitandreleaseyour
finger.
Widgets:
Press toopentheHomescreen.

Youareinthemainwidgetsscreen,youcan

Dragawidgettoahomescreen:Touchandholdthewidget’sicon,
slideyourfingerwhereyouwanttoplaceit,andliftyourfinger.
Youmaybeaskedtomakefurtherchoicesbeforethewidget
activates. If there isn’t room where you dropped it, the widget
won’tgetaddedtotheHomeScreen.
Wallpapers: Wallpapersare imagesfrom Gallery, still images included with
the system,and liveimages. Theytaketheplace of the default background
foryourHomeScreen.
Touch and hold anywhere on a desktop Home screen that’s not
occupied.Alistofoptionsappears.
Touchoneofthefollowingwallpapersource:
o Gallery:Choosefrompicturesthatyou’vetakenwithcamera
ordownloadedtoyourdevice.
o Live Wallpaper: Choose from a scrolling list of animated
wallpapers.
o Wallpaper:Choosefromthumbnailsofdefaultimages.
For set wallpaper, touch SET WALLPAPER at the top of the screen
(forGalleryimages)orsetwallpaper.
Folders:You canveryeasilyregroupdesktopiconsin afolderon screento
savespaceandaccessmoreapplications.

6-CONNECT TO THE INTERNET
6.1. To configure your Internet:
Go to Settings> Wireless & Networks >More > Mobile
Networks>TapDataEnabled.
By default, your network provider sends the Access Point Name
settingsviaSMS,oritcomesautomaticallywithyourSIMcard.Youmay
need to install these settings. After this, you can choose from the listed
access point names. If the access point names are not listed by default,
pleasecontactyournetworkproviderforthesame.
ToaddanyoperatorAccesspointName,gotosettings>More>
Mobilenetworks>AccessPointName.
WARNING: to avoid any over cost contact your operator to know more
aboutAccessPointNameregardingyoursubscription.
Afteryouhaveselectedorconfiguredtheaccesspointname,goto
Settings> Wireless & Networks >Data usage >Tap Mobile Data to enable
Internetconnection.
6.2. Access Internet via Wi-Fi
TobrowsetheInternetviaWi‐Fi:
GotoMenu>Systemsettings>wireless&networksandthentap
Wi‐Fi.
Next,gotoMenu>settings>wireless&networks>Wi‐FiSettings
andthenenable Wi‐Fi.Next,select theWIFI connectionlistedunderWi‐Fi
networks.

Notificationiconsinformyouofnewmessagesandevents.Whenyou
receive a notification, its icon appears in the status bar, along with a
summarythatappearsonlybriefly.
