Parking assistance system
Instruction manual
 Rear parking assistance system alerting the driver of
detected obstacles with an audible warning.
 The distance and position of obstacles are displayed
on a dash-mounted screen.
 Buzzer integrated in the screen.

Technical Parameters
 It is recommended that installation is carried out by an
approved professional auto technician.
 It is strongly advised to check the position of the sensors
EHIRUHWKHGH¿QLWLYHGULOOLQJRIWKHKROHV
 It is not recommended to paint the sensors included in
this kit. If you would like the sensors to be the same
colour as your vehicle, choose paintable sensors,
available as spares.
 You may have to replace the adapter ring (included in
the kit) around the sensor in order to obtain the required
inclination in the range of +/- 5° after installation on the
vehicle bumper.
 On metal bumpers, you must sometimes add insulating
ULQJVDURXQGWKHVHQVRUVWR¿WWKHPRQWKHEXPSHULQ
order to avoid sensor vibration.
 Valeo beep&park® helps provide assistance when
reversing and parking. Driving skills, such as slowing
down, use of mirrors etc. are always essential.
 Blocked sensors are preventing the system functioning
correctly. Make sure that the sensors are not covered
with mud, snow or ice, for example.

Troubleshooting
Once reverse gear is selected, a sound signal is triggered
when there is no obstacle behind the vehicle:

is respected. If necessary, use the angle correction rings for
the installation.
3. Check that requested distance between sensors on the
bumper is respected (< or = 45 cm).
4. Check that the sensor is not installed upside-down.
5. Unplug one sensor at a time to identify the cause of the
anomaly.

Self diagnosis
Valeo beep&park® system is equipped with a
self-diagnosis of sensors:
1. When the reverse gear is selected, the system
automatically tests the 4 rear sensors.
2. If all of the sensors are working, the system beeps
once.
3. If there is a problem with any of the sensors, the
system beeps 3 times.
4. The position and number of faulty sensors is
displayed on the screen. E1 means that 1 sensor
is not working properly, E2 : 2 sensors, E3 : 3
sensors, E4 : 4 sensors. 6FUHHQÀDVKLQJ allows

6. In case of crash, you can replace the concerned
sensor by one available in the Valeo spare parts offer

If the problem persists, please follow these steps:
1. Contact the dealer where you purchased the product.
2. Replace the product ECU and recheck the system.

Once reverse gear is selected, an obstacle behind the
vehicle is not detected by the system:
1. &KHFNWKDWUHTXHVWHGKHLJKWRIVHQVRUV¿WWHGRQWKHEXPSHU

is respected. If necessary, use the angle correction rings for
the installation.

The display does not power on after installation:
1. Check that the power supply wire is connected correctly.
2. Check that the ignition is turned to ACC ON, and that the
reverse gear is selected.
3. Check that all wire connections are correct.
4. Check that the display is not damaged.
The display powers on when reverse gear is not selected:
1. Check that the power wire of ECU is connected to the
reverse light wire.
The system indicates a defective sensor (the buzzer
beeps 3 times):

1. Check whether the sensor surface is clean.
2. Check whether the sensor wires are plugged in the
ECU properly.
3. Check whether the sensor wires are damaged or
not.
4. Check that the sensor is not damaged.
The object position does not correspond to the
correct indicator on the display:
1. Check that the sensor cables are connected to the
control unit (ECU) in the correct order (markers
ABCD).
