1.5 Recommendations and special notes
Recommendations on how to make the electrical
connections on Volvo Globetrotter (L2H3) trucks

Öffnen Sie den Verteilerkasten.
Führen Sie die beiden Kabel (+ und -) von der
Anlage in den Verteilerkasten.
Open the junction box.
Route the two cables (+ and -) from the
air conditioner to the junction box.

am Anschluss (+) im Motorraum an.
Use at least 6 mm² cable for the connection (+) in
the engine compartment.

Verteilerkasten eines Volvo Globetrotter XL (L2H3) sind als Empfehlung von WAECO zu verstehen.
The following procedure describing the electrical connection of the CoolAir CA 800 to the junction
box of a Volvo Globetrotter XL (L2H3) is the one recommended by WAECO.

Verlegen Sie das 6 mm² dicke Kabel vom
Anschluss (+) bis in den Verteilerkasten.
Route the 6 mm² cable from the + terminal
to the junction box.

Verbinden Sie das Kabel (-) von der Anlage
mit dem Masse-Anschluss neben dem
Verteilerkasten.
Connect the minus cable of the air conditioner
to the earth connection next to the
junction box.

Zwischen den beiden Kabeln muss eine
25-A-Sicherung geschaltet werden.

1.5.1 Update of CA 800 roof air conditioners
to software version 6.0

All CA 800 air conditioners with software version 5.01
installed must be updated using the flash box (see
notes on this in chapter 3).
To find out which software version you have,
simultaneously press and hold the ON/OFF button
and the MINUS button. The display will then show
the software version (without the dot).

Replacing the (internal) control PCB

Legen Sie die Dachklimaanlage mit der
Oberschale nach unten auf eine Arbeitsfläche.
Lösen Sie die 6 Schrauben am Ansauggitter,
um die Auslasseinheit zu demontieren.
Lay the roof air conditioner on a work surface
with the top housing facing downwards.
Release the 6 screws at the air intake to
dismantle the air outlet unit.

Ziehen Sie nun die Auslasseinheit über die
Gewindebolzen vorsichtig nach oben, damit
die Kabel, die mit der Auslasseinheit verbunden
sind, nicht abgerissen werden.
Now you can pull the air outlet unit along the
stud bolts, but you must be careful not to tear
off the cables connected to the air outlet unit.
Achtung!
Unterbrechen Sie bei Arbeiten an der Dachklimaanlage alle Stromversorgungen!
Caution!
Disconnect all power supplies when working on the roof air conditioner!

Lösen Sie vorsichtig alle Stecker von der
Steuerplatine.
Lösen Sie auch den Kabelbinder, mit dem die
Batterieleitung fixiert ist. Wenn Sie nach
erfolgreichem Austausch die Batterieleitung
wieder fixieren, seien Sie sehr vorsichtig, um
den Anschlussstutzen nicht zu verbiegen.
Carefully release all connectors from the
control PCB.
Release the cable tie the battery cable is
fixed with. If you fix the battery cable after
successful exchange of the PCB please be
careful not to damage the tube connection.

Die Platine ist an 11 Punkten befestigt. Lösen
Sie nacheinander jeden Befestigungspunkt,
indem Sie den Spreitzkopf des Platinenhalters
mit einer Spitzzange leicht zusammendrücken
und die Platine dabei etwas anheben. Seien
Sie hier sehr vorsichtig, um Beschädigungen
an der Platine durch Kratzer oder ähnliches
zu vermeiden.
The PCB is fastened with PCB holders to
11 mounting points. Press the barbs of the PCB
holders with a long nose pliers one after the
other while lifting the PCB a little bit. Please be
carefully while removing the PCB to avoid any
scratches or damages to the PCB.

Wenn alle Befestigungspunkte gelöst sind,
können Sie die Platine nach oben ziehen und
anschließend die neue Platine in umgekehrter
Reihenfolge montieren. Wenn Sie die Platine
nun wieder anschließen, muss beachtet werden,
dass der Lüfter in seinem Ansaug- und
Ausblasbereich keine störenden Kabel hat,
die ihn in seiner Wirkung beeinträchtigen.
Prüfen Sie, ob alle Kabelverbindungen wieder
ordnungsgemäß angeschlossen sind.
After all mounting points are released, lift the
PCB and take it out. Install the new PCB in
reversed order. Make sure that the PCB holders
properly fit and all cables have been connected
properly. Make sure that no wires disturb the
airflow of the fan or interfere with the fan blades.
Please check whether all cable connectors have
been installed properly.
Lüfter/Fan
Prüfen Sie vor dem Einbau der Dachklimaanlage deren vollständige Funktion. Hierzu müssen Sie die
Anlage wieder in Einbaulage umdrehen und dann mindestens 15 Minuten ruhen lassen, bevor Sie
die Anlage starten. Diese Wartezeit ist für den Schutz des Kompressors nötig.
Prüfpunkte:
● Kleiner Platinenlüfter muss laufen. Diesen kann man bei ruhiger Umgebung direkt nach dem
Anschalten der Anlage hören.
● Großer Lüfter muss laufen
● Kompressor muss nach 90 Sekunden starten, wenn Umgebungstemperatur höher als eingestellter
Wert auf dem Display ist.
● Vollständige Funktion des Displays (Tasten und Anzeige)
● Funktion der Fernbedienung
● Manueller Start der Kondensatpumpe – Pumpe muss anlaufen. (Siehe Handbuch)
(Die Funktion des Kondensatwassersensors kann nur geprüft werden, indem in die
Kompressorwanne Wasser bis zum unteren Rand des Kondensatwassereinlaufes gegeben wird.
Ab einem Wasserstand von ca. 20 mm muss die Kondensatpumpe anlaufen.)
Before you install the air conditioner, perform a complete function check. To do this, return the unit to
its installed position and leave it there for at least 15 minutes before you start it.
This waiting time is necessary to protect the compressor.
Items to check:
● Small PCB fan must be running. The sound of the PCB fan running is audible (in quiet environments)
after the air conditioner was switched on.
● Large fan must be running.
● Compressor must start after 90 seconds, if the ambient temperature is higher than the value set on
the display.
● All display functions (buttons and readouts)
● Operation of the remote control
● Manual start of the condensate pump – pump must start running (see manual).
(The functioning of the condensate water sensor can only be checked by filling the compressor tank
with water up to the lower edge of the condensation water intake.
The condensate pump must start running when the water has reached a level of about 20 mm.)

Die beiden Nieten am Niveaugeber aufbohren.
Before you set to work, shut off the power supply
to the air conditioner and make sure it won’t
switch on again!
Drill out the two rivets on the level sensor.

Remove the old level sensor from the
condensate pan.

Den alten Niveaugeber gegen einen neuen

Chassis vernieten.
Replace the old level sensor by a new one
and rivet the holder to the frame again.

die Litzen abisolieren.
Cut the cable of the level sensor and strip the
insulation off the wire.
