INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1.5 CI ATV Winch Mounting Kit
Part Number: 70045
Applications: HONDA 300EX
As you read these instructions, you will see NOTES, CAUTIONS, and WARNINGS. Each message has a

avoided could result in serious injury. CAUTIONS and WARNINGS identify the hazard, indicate how to avoid
the hazard, and advise of the probable consequence of not avoiding the hazard. PLEASE WORK SAFELY!
Before You Begin
This kit is compatible with WARN’s line of ATV winches. Winch sold separately. Please read WARN’s Winching
Technique guide provided with the winch prior to use of this product.

Winch and equipment Damage
This mount is designed for a 1500 lb. winch.
Using a higher capacity winch may cause severe
damage to the mount or ATV.

III. 300 EX Installation
1. Begin by removing the top two bumper mounting
bolts. Retain these two bolts, they will be needed
when attaching the back of the mounting plate to
the ATV frame.
2. Place the mounting plate (A1) into position on the
ATV as shown in figure 1.
3. Attach the front of the mounting plate (A1) with
the two 1/4-20 U-bolts (B2), flat washers (B3), and
locking 1/4-20 hex nuts (B1), refer to figure 1.
Thighten the u-bolts to a recommended torque of
5-6 ft-lbs (7 N-m)
4. Attach the rear of the mounting plate with the two
hex bolts that were removed in step 1. Tighten the
bolts to a recommended torque of 10-12 ft-lb
(16 N-m).
5. Attach either the cast-iron hawse or roller fairlead
(depending on your winch kit) to the fairlead
support tabs on the front of the mounting plate
(A1)
6. Place the winch into position as shown in figure 1.
Attach the winch using the four 5/16-18 x 3/4 hex
bolts that came in the mounting kit, the locking
nuts that will be used were supplied with the
winch package.Tighten the bolts to recommended
torque of 12 ft-lb (17 N-m).
Winch and winch mount installation is now
complete section IV, entitled “Maintenance/Care”.

WARNING
Tighten all nuts and bolts securely. Failure to
check all nuts and bolts prior to use can result
in product failure which can lead to vehicle
damage and operator injury or death.
Remove bumper mounting bolts
1/4-20 u-bolts
5/16-18 x 3/4 bolst
bolt removed in step one
IV. Maintenance/Care
•Inspect all metal parts on the winch, winch mount,
and related hardware. Replace all that appears
rusted or deformed prior to use.
•Inspect all nuts and bolts on the winch, winch mount,
and related hardware prior to each use. Tighten all
nuts and bolts that appear to be loose. Stripped,
fractured, or bent bolts or nuts need to be replaced

Failure to perform regular inspections and
maintenance on the winch, winch mount, and
related hardware may result in vehicle
damage and operator injury or death.
