1 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
All security proceed describe in this manual need to be follow.
2 GENERAL INFORMATIONS
This quick installation guide contains the basic information necessary to commission
the CANopen, RUW-01.
This unit remot features two versions:
 RUW-01 CN14DI10DO: 14 digitals inputs and 10 digitals outputs. It will be
referred in this guide for RUW-01.00.
 RUW-01CN13DI:i13 digitals inputs without digitals outputs. It will be referred in
this guide for RUW-01.01.
OBS: For the both versions will be used RUW-01.

4.1 MECHANICAL INSTALLATION
InstalL thea RUW-01 on rail DIN 35 mm, follow figure 1.

4.2 ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
The RUW-01 needs external supply of 24 Vdc +/-15 % with capacity of at least 500
mA..
The grounding connection is important. The connections are made through the
XC4 connector. .

 Terminal 1: (+) 24 Vcc (±15 %).
 Terminal 2: (-) GND.
 Terminal 3: PE (Grounding).

4.3 NETWORK CONNECTION CANOPEN
There is a green LED to indicate that the interface is powered RUW-01.
The communication module CAN has a 5 way connector plug-in (XC3) with the
following pinouts:

CAN Power Supply
The RUW-02 interface requires an external power supply voltage between
pins 1 and 5 of the network connector. To avoid problems with voltage differences, is it
recommended that the network be powered at only one point and the power signal be
taken to all dispositive through the cable. If necessary more than one power supply
should be referenced to the same point. The information for individual consumption and
voltage are presents in chart bellow.

4.4 DIGITAL INPUTS CONECTIONS
Use cables AWG30-16 for this connection.
RUW-01.00:
The RUW-01.00 has 14digital inputs bidiretionais which can be driven throughan
external 24 Vcc voltage source, as shown in Figure 3a.

4.5 DIGITAL OUTPUTS CONNECTIONS
Use cables AWG30-16 for this connection.
RUW-01.00:
The RUW-01.00 has 10 digitas outputs bidiretionais the transistor with voltage of
24Vcc and a maximum current of 0.5A each. Figure 4 illustrates the connection
scheme of the digital outputs

5 CONFIGURATION
The RUW-01 configuration is made by hex keys with the following functions:
 S1 and S2: CANopen network address configuration.
 S3: Selecting the communication rate.

Case the address will be changed, it will valid only turn on the RUW-01
again.

5.1 CANOPEN ADRESS NETWORK
The CANopen´s address is configured with two hexagonal keys S1 and S2 as shown
in figure 6.This address is used to identify the RUW-01 in the CANopen network. It
is necessary that each network equipament has a different address form the
others.
 Valid address: 1 a 127 (01h a 7Fh).
The address selected through the represents a hexadecimal value. It must be
converted to decimal, when necessary, in the parameterization of the CANopen
master.
The keys that configure the CAN RUW-01 address are shown with more detail in
figure 6, where the key S1 key is most significant and the key S2 is the least significant.
The keys values follow figure 6:
 Key S1 =02h.
 KeyS2 =0Eh.
As the key S1 the most significant, the address is formed by the keys 2Eh or 46
decimal.

The other values selected in the key presents communication rate of
1Mbit/s

RUW-01 again

5.2 COMMUNICATION RATE - BAUDRATE
It allows programming the desired value for the CAN interface commucation rae, in
bits per second. This Rate must be the same for all connected equipaments in the
network. The RUW-01 present the apresenta hexadecimal key S3 for selection of
the communication ratem as shown in figure 6. The communication rate options are:
 0 = 1 Mbit/s
 1 = 800Kbit/s
 2 = 500Kbit/s
 3 = 250Kbit/s
 4 = 125Kbit/s
 5 = 100Kbit/s
 6 = 50 Kbit/s
 7 = 20 Kbit/s
 8 = 10 Kbit/s

6 DIAGNOSTIC
The RUW-01 features a dianostic by LEDs that indicate he status of each digital
input or output and the communication status.

6.1 COMMUNICATION DIAGNOSTIC
The communication features 2 LEDs: CAN (NET 1) e ERROR (NET 2).
 LED CAN (NET 1): inform protocol statusCANopen;.
 LED ERROR (NET 2): inform interface status CAN.
The chart bellow indicates the behaviour of these LEDs depending on the RUW-01’s
status:
