Safety information
The following safety regulations must be observed to protect
the health of personnel and to prevent electric shocks, injury
and the risk of fire and explosions. Failure to observe the
safety regulations results in a risk to life and limb. These
Operating Instructions and safety information must be kept
well visible in the vicinity of the soldering tool.
Specified use
The mains cable must only be plugged into the mains
socket or adapter approved for this purpose.
Do not overload your soldering tool.
Operate the soldering tool only with the specified voltage and
with the specified pressure or within the specified pressure
range.
Always use the correct soldering tool.
Do not use soldering tools which have insufficient power for
your tasks. Do not use the soldering tool for purposes for
which it is not designed.
Accessories
Use only accessories or auxiliary devices that are listed in the
accessories list in the Operating Instructions, or which have
been approved by the manufacturer. Use WELLER accesso-
ries or auxiliary devices only on original WELLER equipment.
This use of other tool and accessories may mean that you
run the risk of injury.
Use with other WELLER equipment.
If the soldering tool is operated in conjunction with other
WELLER equipment or auxiliary devices, the warning infor-
mation in their respective Operating Instructions must also
be observed. All equipment must only be used in perfect wor-
king condition.
Safety at the workplace
Caution! Risk of injury through burning.
Even after switching off, or removal, the soldering tip / hot
bar still requires a certain time to cool down. After soldering,
the soldered part and workpiece carrier are still hot.
Take account of environmental influences.
Do not use the soldering tool in a damp or wet environment.
Protect yourself against electric shocks.
Avoid touching earthed objects such as pipes, heaters, coo-
kers and refrigerators.
Children and other unauthorised persons must stay clear
of the work area.
Never allow other persons to touch the soldering tool or
cable. Keep other persons away from your workplace.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabili-
ties, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children
should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
Store your soldering tool in a safe place.
When not in use, soldering tools should be stored in a dry,
high or locked area out of the reach of children. Ensure that
unused soldering tools are free of voltage and de-pressuri-
sed.
Always place the soldering tool in the safety holder provided.
Make sure the safety holder is stable.
Caution!
Covering the soldering iron or the safety holder poses a fire
hazard. Always keep objects well away from the soldering
iron and safety holder.
The personal protective equipment must comply with
the safety specifications relevant to the workplace.
Risk of burning through liquid solder. Protect yourself against
solder splashes.
Wear suitable protective clothing to protect yourself against
injury through burning.
Protect your eyes by wearing eye protectors.
When working with adhesives, special attention must be paid
to the warning information provided by the adhesive manu-
facturer.
Use a soldering fume extraction unit.
If appliances for connecting soldering fume extraction devi-
ces are available, ensure that they are connected and used
properly.
Do not use the cable for purposes other than those for
which it is intended.
Never carry the soldering tool by the cable. Do not use the
cable to pull the plug out of the socket. Protect the cable
against heat, oil and sharp edges.
Secure the soldering tool.
Use the clamping devices to hold the workpiece firmly in
position. This is a safer way to hold the workpiece than in
