blueCompact is an electronic locking system which com-
prises a maximum of 99 keys and 25 cylinders and readers.
The main components of this locking system are the app
and an active electronic key which allow you to activate,
manage and program keys, cylinders and readers.
This manual is valid for the following versions of the
blueCompact App:
nAndroid: Version 2.5.0
niOS: Version 2.5.0.0
With other versions of the blueCompact App,
some information and approaches may not
apply completely.
You need one of the following operating systems for the
blueCompact App:
nAndroid Version 5.0 or higher
niOS Version 9 or higher
Smartphones must feature Bluetooth 4.0 or higher.
In order to use Bluetooth, location detection
may have to be activated or deactivated on
some devices depending on the manufacturer
and model of the smartphone.
Display of the app needs to be enhanced for use on tablet
PCs.
The security measures of the manufacturer must not be
bypassed (no support for rooted or jailbreaked devices).

tions that you may have.

Safety instructions may refer to specific, individual oper-
ating instructions. Such safety instructions are embedded
into the operating instructions, so that they do not interrupt
the flow of the text when users carry out an action. The

Skilled non-professionals and maintenance sta who have
the following expertise as a minimum:

nHandling smartphones and operating app interfaces
Qualified electricians for energy and building technology,
who are able to carry out the following work on electrical
systems safely and correctly:
nPlanning and connection of electrical systems based on
circuit and wiring diagrams
nDesigning and routing cables and connecting electrical
components
nCarrying out safety checks on electrical systems, compo-
nents and devices
nAnalysing and remedying faults on electrical systems
nInstallation, maintenance and cleaning of building tech-

The qualified electrician is also familiar with the hazards
associated with electrical systems and is qualified in
accordance with the European standard EN 50110-1 or
higher. The qualified electrician has at least three years of
professional experience in the installation of electronic
locking systems and alarm systems.

the instructions in the main menu in the app.
nThe step-by-step instructions for the app explain the dif-
ferent processes using images and texts, even without an
Internet connection.

The activation set is the basis for the locking system. Other
components must be purchased in addition to the set as
required.
The activation set contains the following components:

Active keys feature a button (3) to activate cylinders, a bat-
tery and a LED display (6). You can use the ring hole (1) to
fasten the key to a key ring.
For a clear allocation of the keys in the app, a
Winkhaus UID is engraved on the tip of the
key (5).
This Winkhaus UID consists of the logo
4HOME and a six-digit number.

An active key features the following functions:
nLock cylinder.

You can read or display the battery charge
status for all components which have a bat-
tery.

The following battery charge states are dis-
played:
–good
–sucient
–low
–replace
The battery must be replaced if the battery
charge status indicates 'low' or 'replace'.
This signal warns of a low battery in the active key.
The signal is activated for the following functions:
nInternal power function if there is only enough power for
a few more locking transactions.

nUser key function if fewer than 1,000 locking transactions
are possible.

Hazard to persons due to malfunction in
emergency opening with an active key.
Replace the battery of the active key following this
signal immediately to ensure that the door does not
fail to open or close in an emergency.

nActive key has been activated using the button.
nActive key communicates with other components via
Bluetooth.
The power adapter mode allows cylinders to be locked
using the internal power function and is activated by
pressing on the button for 2 seconds.

nSearch for a cylinder which can be taught in

1.2.1.1 Use user key function
An active key can be used in the same way as
a passive key (= user key). The button does
not need to be activated with the button to
do so.

nBattery is suciently charged.
nThe active key features the corresponding locking rights.
1. Insert active key (1) into the cylinder.
2. Lock cylinder.

1.2.1.2 Use internal power function
If the cylinder battery is flat, the lock can be
operated using the battery in an active key.
WARNING!
Hazard to persons due to malfunction in
emergency opening with an active key.
Active keys with a low battery may not be
able to open or close cylinders with a flat
battery.

ponents on a regular basis.

Precondition:
nThe battery in the cylinder is flat.
1. Insert active key into the cylinder.
2. Activate active key by pressing on the button (2) for 2
seconds.

yellow and the lock can be operated using the
power in the battery (1) in the active key.
