Foreword
Read the manual of the ComfoAir XL and this
document carefully before use.
This document provides all the additional information
required for the safe and optimal installation of the
ComfoAir XL and ComfoAir Eco in three parts. In this
following document they will be referred to as “the
unit”. The unit is subject to continuous development
and improvement. As a result, the unit may slightly
differ from the descriptions. After reading this
document you can assemble the three different
parts (Ventilation, Heat Recovery and Filter section)
correctly to one complete ComfoAir XL air handling
unit.
Questions
Please contact the supplier if you have any questions
or would like to order a new document or new filters.
The contact details of the main supplier can be
found at the end of this document.

1 Safety instructions
Always follow the safety regulations, warnings,
comments and instructions given in the ComfoAir
XL manual. Personal injury or damage to the unit
can arise from non-compliance with the safety
regulations, warnings, comments and instructions.
2 Transport and unpacking
Follow the transport and unpacking instructions
given in the ComfoAir XL manual.
Additionally instructions
�Hoist the parts with the lock nut secured;
�Move the unit to its assemble location;
Do not position the unit in its final installation
location.
Ensure sufficient space is available around the
unit for mounting purposes.
�Remove the protective layer;
�All assembly materials are
packed in a plastic bag,
labelled and placed in a box.
This box is always situated
in the FAN section.
3 Installation conditions
Follow the installation conditions given in the
ComfoAir XL manual.
Make sure you can move the unit after assembly to
its final installation location.
Required equipment
�Glue gun;
�Cordless drill;
�Allen Keys (6 mm);
�Wire stripping tool;
�Crowbar;
�Flat head screwdriver;
�Phillips screwdriver (size 0 and 2);
�Wrench (size 17);
�Ratchet (+ extension bar) and socket (size 17);
�Silicone spray;
�Several cable ties.
4 Technical specifications
The units technical specifications are added
separately to the unit. This can includes the following
information:
�Dimension sketch;
�Wiring diagram;
�Air specifications;
�Parameter list with Factory settings.
All general technical information can be found in the
ComfoAir XL manual.

5 Installation
First follow the installation instructions given in
this document. Do not:
�mount the ducting,
�connect the water batteries,
�connect the power supply,
before finishing the instructions given in this
document.
1. Remove the two locking bolts of all the doors with
missing plastic cover caps. (You do not need the
bolts again.)
2. Remove the inspection door in front of the main
PCB at the front side of the PHE part.
3. Remove the required information from inside such
as the drawing, manual, wiring diagram, DOP etc.
Take note of the drawing and read the manual for
mounting a CA XL unit in 3 parts carefully.
4. Remove the screws fixing the three parts to the
transport pallets. (You do not need the screws
again.)
5. Remove the transport pallets below the FAN, PHE
and FIL sections.
6. Pre-treated the seals of the FAN (Part 1) and PHE
(Part 2) sections with silicon spray.
7. Slide the parts carefully together (for example
using a crowbar).
8. CA XL 2200-6000: Remove the lock nuts from the
frames.
9. CA XL 2200-6000: Connect the two frames with a
bolt nut and washer assembly to each other.
10. CA XL 2200-6000: Assembling the lock nuts
again.

11. Tighten the screws around the unit with an Allen
key (6 mm).
12. CA XL 800-1500: Remove the panel next to
inspection panel of the Ventilator

13. Connecting the wiring plugs.
14. Connect the tubes to the corresponding tube
connectors using matching colours and labels
as a guide.
15. Assemble Sensor T5 at the correct position. T5
is labelled with a sticker.
16. Connect the screws of the bottom profile and
the joining profiles around the unit.
CA XL 800-1500: Accessible from below.
CA XL 2200-6000: Accessible from the inside
of the unit.
When you are using a cordless drill be aware
of the selected torque. It will be wise to use a
lower torque for fixing and a higher torque for
disconnecting.
17. Pre mount the supplied drain and siphon.
After assembling the FIL section it‘s possible to
finish the siphon mounting.
18. Slide the FIL (part 3) section to the already
assembled FAN-PHE sections.
19. Remove the filter inspection door.
20. Remove the filters.

21. Finalise the siphon mounting.
22. Connect the rubber seals contained within the
mounting kit on both sides (inside and outside).
23. Connecting the wiring plugs.
24. Connect the tubes to the corresponding tube
connectors using matching colours and labels
as a guide.
25. Connect the screws of the bottom
profile and the joining profiles
around the unit.
CA XL 800-1500:
Accessible from below.
CA XL 2200-6000: Accessible
from the inside of the unit.
When you are using a cordless drill be aware
of the selected torque. It will be wise to use a
lower torque for fixing and a higher torque for
disconnecting.
26. Take the supplied wiring diagram from the
removed documentation.
27. Feed all of the electric cables through the wiring
grommet.
28. Connect the primary circuit-breaker (safety
switch).
29. If supplied, connect the by-pass and other
accessories.
30. Combine the loose cables in the by-pass wand
secure with a cable tie.
31. Reassemble all the inspection panels and doors.
32. Mount the supplied cover plates over all the
holes in the inspection panels and doors.
33. Clean the inside of the unit.
Check for any loose parts inside the unit. Loose
parts can cause damage or injury
34. Follow the installation instructions given in the
ComfoAir XL manual.

6 Testing of the unit
1. Connect a link wire on digital input 4, 5, 6 or 7.
2. Use the available simulation program for checking:
�the analog input;
�output;
�communication ports;
�digital input and relays.
7 Commissioning
Follow the commissioning instructions given in the
ComfoAir XL manual.

Betriebsanleitung für ComfoAir XL und dieses
Dokument sorgfältig.
Dieses Dokument enthält alle zusätzlichen
Informationen, die für die sichere und optimale
Montage und Wartung des dreiteiligen ComfoAir
XL und ComfoAir Eco erforderlich sind. In diesem
Dokument werden diese als „Anlage“ bezeichnet.
Die Anlage wird beständig weiterentwickelt
und verbessert. Infolgedessen kann das Gerät
geringfügig von den Beschreibungen abweichen.
Nach der Lektüre dieses Dokuments können Sie die
drei Teile (Lüftungs-, Wärmerückgewinnungs- und
Filtersektion) korrekt zu einer vollständigen ComfoAir
XL Lüftungsanlage zusammenbauen.

Nach der Transport- und Auspackanleitung in der
ComfoAir XL Betriebsanleitung vorgehen.

3 Montagebedingungen
Die Montagebedingungen in der ComfoAir XL
Betriebsanleitung heranziehen.
Sicherstellen, dass Sie das Gerät nach der Montage
an ihren endgültigen Installationsort bewegen
können.
Erforderliche Ausrüstung
�Klebepistole
�Akku-Bohrmaschine
�Innensechskantschlüssel (6 mm)
�Abisolierzange
�Brechstange
�Flachkopf-Schraubendreher
�Kreuzkopf-Schraubendreher (Größe 0 und 2)
�Schlüssel (Größe 17)
�Ratsche (+ Verlängerung) und Nuss (Größe 17)
�Silikonspray
�Mehrere Kabelbinder
4 Technische Spezifikationen
Die technischen Daten des Geräts werden getrennt
vom Gerät bereitgestellt. Diese können die folgenden
Informationen enthalten:
�Maßskizzen

�Luft-Spezifikationen
�Parameterliste mit Werkseinstellungen
Alle allgemeinen technischen Informationen sind in
der Betriebsanleitung von ComfoAir XL zu finden.

5 Einbau
Befolgen Sie zuallererst die
Installationsanweisungen in diesem Dokument.
Tun Sie Folgendes nicht:
�die Leitungen anschließen,
�die Wasserbatterien anschließen,
�die Stromversorgung anschließen,
bevor Sie die Anweisungen in diesem Dokument
vollständig ausgeführt haben.
1. Die beiden Sperrbolzen von allen Türen mit
fehlenden Kunststoff-Abdeckkappen entfernen.
(Die Schrauben brauchen Sie nicht mehr.)
2. Die Inspektionsluke vor der Hauptplatine an der
Vorderseite des PHE-Teils abnehmen.
3. Das erforderliche Informationsmaterial (wie
Zeichnung, Betriebsanleitung, Schaltplan, DOP
usw.) herausnehmen.
Die Zeichnung beachten und die
Montageanleitung für ein CA-XL-Gerät in drei
Teilen sorgfältig lesen.
4. Die Schrauben entfernen, mit denen die drei
Teile an der Transportpalette befestigt sind. (Die
Schrauben brauchen Sie nicht mehr.)
5. Die Transportpalette unter den FAN-, PHE- und
FIL-Sektionen entfernen.
6. Die Dichtungen der Sektionen FAN (Teil 1) und
PHE (Teil 2) mit Silikonspray vorbehandeln.
7. Die Teile vorsichtig zusammenschieben (zum
Beispiel mit einer Brechstange).
8. CA XL 2200-6000: Die Sicherungsmuttern aus
den Rahmen nehmen.
9. CA XL 2200-6000: Die beiden Rahmen mit
Schraube, Mutter und Unterlegscheibe verbinden.
10. CA XL 2200-6000: Die Sicherungsmuttern
wieder montieren.

11. Die Schrauben rund um das Gerät mit einem
Innensechskantschlüssel (6mm) anziehen.
12. CA XL 800-1500: Die Abdeckung neben der
Inspektionsluke des Ventilators abnehmen.

13. Die Kabelstecker anschließen.
14. Die Schläuche an Schlauchverbinder mit
derselben Farbe bzw. mit der entsprechenden
Beschriftung anschließen.
15. Sensor T5 an der korrekten Position montieren.
T5 ist mit einem Aufkleber gekennzeichnet.
16. Die Schrauben des Bodenprofils und die
Verbindungsprofile rund um das Gerät
verbinden.
CA XL 800-1500: Von unten zugänglich.
CA XL 2200-6000: Von der Innenseite des
Geräts zugänglich.
Wenn Sie eine Akku-Bohrmaschine verwenden:
Auf das gewählte Drehmoment achten. Es ist
sinnvoll, einen geringen Drehmoment zum
Anziehen und einen höheren Drehmoment zum
Lösen zu verwenden.
17. Den mitgelieferten Ablauf und Siphon
vormontieren.
Nach dem Zusammenbau der FIL-Sektion kann
die Montage des Siphon abgeschlossen werden.
18. Die FIL-Sektion (Teil 3) zu den bereits montierten
FAN-PHE-Sektionen schieben.
19. Die Filter-Inspektionsluke abnehmen.
20. Die Filter entnehmen.

21. Die Siphon-Montage fertigstellen.
22. Die Gummidichtung im Montagesatz auf beiden
Seiten (innen und außen) verbinden.
23. Die Kabelstecker anschließen.
24. Die Schläuche an Schlauchverbinder mit
derselben Farbe bzw. mit der entsprechenden
Beschriftung anschließen.
25. Die Schrauben des Bodenprofils
und die Verbindungsprofile rund
um das Gerät verbinden.
CA XL 800-1500:
Von unten zugänglich.
CA XL 2200-6000: Von der
Innenseite des Geräts zugänglich.
Wenn Sie eine Akku-Bohrmaschine verwenden:
Auf das gewählte Drehmoment achten. Es ist
sinnvoll, einen geringen Drehmoment zum
Anziehen und einen höheren Drehmoment zum
Lösen zu verwenden.
26. Den mitgelieferten Schaltplan aus der
entnommenen Dokumentation heranziehen.
27. Alle Elektrokabel durch die Kabeldurchführung
führen.
28. Den Haupttrennschalter (Schutzschalter)
anschließen.
29. Den Bypass und anderes Zubehör (wenn
mitgeliefert) anschließen.
30. Die losen Kabel im Bypass mit einem
Kabelbinder zusammenbinden.
31. Alle Inspektionsluken und Türen wieder
anbringen.
32. Die mitgelieferten Abdeckplatten über allen
Öffnungen in den Inspektionsluken und Türen
befestigen.
33. Die Innenseite der Anlage reinigen.
Auf lockere Teile im Inneren der Anlage
kontrollieren. Lockere Teile können Verletzungen
oder Schäden verursachen
34. Nach der Installationsanleitung in der ComfoAir
XL Betriebsanleitung vorgehen.

6 Testen der Anlage
1. Ein Verbindungskabel an Digitaleingang 4, 5, 6
oder 7 anschließen.
2. Zur Kontrolle das verfügbare
Simulationsprogramm verwenden:
�Analogeingang
�Ausgang
�Kommunikationsanschlüsse
�Digitaleingang und Relais
7 Inbetriebnahme
Nach der Anleitung zur Inbetriebnahme in der
ComfoAir XL Betriebsanleitung vorgehen.
