performancewithminimumpowerconsumption donot covertheantennaareawithyour
hand. Holdthehandset between thumband fingeron themainhingesection. Covering the
antennaaffectscall quality, maycausethehandset tooperateathigherpowerlevelthan
needed,andmayshortentalkand idletimes.
RadioFrequency Energy
Yourhandset isalow-powerradiotransmitterandreceiver.Whenswitched on it
intermittentlytransmitsradiofrequency(RF)energy(radiowaves).Thetransmit powerlevel
isoptimizedforthebest performanceandautomaticallyreduceswhenthereisgood quality
reception. Maximumpowerisonlyused at theedgeofnetworkcoveragesoundermost
circumstancesthepoweroutput isverylow. Underpoornetworkconditionsthephonewill
transmit atahigherpower, mayget hotand will haveasignificantlyshorterbatterylife.

1Getting Started
1.1 Install the (U)SIMCard
The (U)SIMcard (UniversalSubscriberInterfaceModule)isthesmall plasticchipwithgold
contactssupplied byTelcel.Thiscontainsyourphonenumberandactsasastoreforyour
contacts.It canbemoved betweendifferentphonesifrequired.Insertthisfacedownintothe
carrierinsidethebackpanelof thephone.Makesureitispushed all thewaytothebottomof
thephoneasshownbelow:

1.2 Insertthe Battery
Removethebackcoverbypressinggentlyand sliding down. Insert thebatterycarefullywith
thecontactslocatedagainst thegoldsprings.Thebatterywill onlyfitoneway.
Closethecasebylocating theplasticcoverintothegroovesand sliding thecoverup to
closeit. DoNOTforcethecoverdownbypressing on it. Thiswill damagethecover. Slide the
coverup gently
Notes
•The batteryis notfullycharged when you buyyourphone buttheremaybeenough powerin
the batterytoturnthe phoneon.
•The batterytakestwoorthree charge cyclestoreachfull capacity.

Pressand holdthe keyfortwosecondstoswitchyourphoneon.Thephonetakes
about16 secondstoinitialize.EnterthePINnumbersupplied byTelcelwithyour(U)SIM
card.Thestart up screen belowisreferred tothroughout themanualasthe IdleScreen:

1.4 Charging and Battery life
•Onlyusethechargersupplied.
•Normalchargetimeis2-3hours.
•Whennotusingthephoneforalong periodremovethebatteryand storeitinacooldry
place.
•Donotleavethephoneconnected tothechargerforextendedperiodsoftimeeg >24
hrs.
•Ifthebatteryisnot fullycharged after3hourspleasestopcharging.
•Chargethebatterybetween 0°C~50°C.Ifthetemperatureofthehandsetistoohigh,
switchit off andlet it cool.
•Batterylifecanbemaximizedbyregularlyallowing thephonetofullydischargebefore
rechargingthebattery.
•Chargethebatterypromptlywhen flat.
•Underpoornetworkconditions(less than2bars)itisnormalforthebatterytoonlylast1
day.
•Tomaximizebatterylifeturnoff Bluetoothand reducethebacklightingto10 seconds
(seeSection 1.13 - ‘PersonaliseyourPhone).
•Ifthephoneisnotused foralongtimeorthebatteryiscompletelyflatitmaytakeafew
minutestopowerup.
