1 Product Overview
This chapter presents a general overview of the LEC-BASE MINI carrier. After reviewing this

1.1 Carrier Description
The ADLINK LEC-BASE MINI is the host carrier board for ADLINK’s SMARC modules and
serves as reference design for SMARC modules. The SMARC module plugs directly into the
LEC-BASE MINI where the carrier board becomes a design platform for testing and developing
your applications. Figure 1-1 provides an overview photo of the LEC-BASE MINI with call outs
of its interface hardware. The proceeding chapters and sections in this manual present these
features in more detail.

Second generation SMARC evaluation carrier with triple display
(RGB LCD, SC LVDS and HDMI). This version is the standard config-
uration of the carrier, which is fully compliant with SMARC specifica-
tion 1.1. This standard version supports one RGB LCD display, one
single channel LVDS (18/24 bit) display, and one HDMI display.
LEC-BASE MINI Custom
(91-77A03-010E or higher)
Second generation SMARC evaluation carrier with triple display (DC
LVDS, HDMI, and HDMI/DP). This version is a custom option, if a
third digital display is needed. This custom version supports one dual
channel LVDS (18/24 bit) display, one HDMI display, and one
HDMI/DP display.
