3. Remove the MR riser bracket.
a. Unscrew 2 screws.
b. Lift the MR riser bracket up as shown below.
4. Remove the I/O module bracket.
a. Unscrew 3 screws and slide the I/O module bracket
backwards.
Mechanical Assembly Steps
1. Remove the chassis top cover.
a. Unscrew 5 screws on top.
b. Slide the top cover backwards and then lift it up.
2. Remove the LR riser bracket.
a. Unscrew 2 screws in rear, 1 screw on the mother-
board.
b. Lift the LR riser bracket up as shown below.

5. Assemble the motherboard.
a. Use 3 stando󰀨s and 7 screws from the accessory
box.
b. Tighten the 3 stando󰀨s and 7 screws on the mother-
board to assemble the motherboard and chassis.
c. Take the CPU air-duct from the package.
d. Follow the fold line to fold the air-duct into the
shape below. The glue side should be face down.
e. Place the air-duct in the correct position as the below
diagram shows.
f. Stick the air-duct on the system fan and the system
fan bracket as the below diagram shows.
6. Assemble the I/O module.
a. Assemble the I/O board with the I/O module bracket.
b. A󰀩x with 4 screws on the I/O board.

7. Assemble the I/O module back on the server.
a. Insert the I/O module and attach it with 3 screws.
8. Assemble the IR riser module.
a. Install the IR riser card to the IR riser bracket with
2 screws.
9. Assemble the low prole PCIe card on the IR riser
module.
a. Unscrew 2 screws and remove the low prole
bracket from the PCIe card.
b. Assemble the PCIe card with the IR riser module via
2 screws that have been removed in the previous
step.
c. Insert the IR module in the server and attach it with
4 screws.
10. Assemble the MR riser module.
a. Insert the MR riser card with MR riser bracket using
3 screws.

11. Install the low prole PCIe card with the MR riser
module.
a. Unscrew 1 screw on the PCIe bracket to release
the bracket.
b. Insert the low prole PCIe card in the MR riser
module.
c. A󰀩x the PCIe bracket with 1 screw as in the previ-
ous steps.
d. Insert the MR module into the server and attach it
with 2 screws.
12. Assemble the LR riser module with 3 screws.
13. Install the PCIe card to the LR riser module.
a. Unscrew 2 screws on the PCIe bracket to release
the bracket.
b. Insert the PCIe card on the LR riser module.
c. Fix the PCIe bracket with 2 screws as in the previ-
ous step.
d. If installing the GPU card, please assemble the
GPU bracket to the GPU card via 2 screws on the
GPU card rear side.

1. Power supply power cable connection:
a. Connect one 24-pin power cable from the power sup-
ply to the motherboard ATXPWR1 connector.
b. Connect two 8-pin power cables from the power
supply to the motherboard ATX12V1 and ATX12V3
connectors.
c. Connect the 8-pin GPU power cable (in chassis
HPC-61 series option part list) to the motherboard
ATX12V4 connector)
2. Connect the power cable on the hard drive backplane
to BP_P1 on the motherboard.
3. Connect the front USB cable to USB3H1 on the
motherboard.
4. Connect the front panel cable to JFP1 on the mother-
board.
5. Connect the SATA cable (P/N: 1700024327-11) to each
SATA port on the hard drive backplane from top to bot-
tom. Connect the straight angle connector of the cable
to an SATA connector on the motherboard.
6. Connect the SMBUS cable (P/N: 1700027335-01) to
SMBUS1 on the motherboard.

Installing the Server in a Rack
Follow these instructions to mount the HPC-6120+ASMB-
610V3V3 onto the rackmount kit.
Slide Rail Installation
1. Release the inner rail from the outer rail.
2. Attach the inner rail to the chassis.
Press the release rail against the
chassis, lift the clip (A), and slide
the inner rail toward the chassis
rear (B).
3. Attach the outer rail to the rack.
Lift the lever, aim the rack mount pin to the rack post, and
push it forward.
Lift the lever, aim the rack mount pin to the rack post, and
push forward.
4. Mount the system in the rack.
• Be sure the ball bearing retainer is locked forward.
• Pull the middle rail out of the outer rail until locked.
• Push the system into the rack.

Board Layout
1. Read these safety instructions carefully.
2. Keep this user manual for later reference.
3. Disconnect this equipment from any A/C outlet before cleaning. Use a damp cloth. Do not use liquid or spray detergents
for cleaning.
4. For plug-in equipment, the power outlet socket must be located near the equipment and must be easily accessible.
5. Keep this equipment away from humidity.
6. Put this equipment on a reliable surface during installation. Dropping it or letting it fall may cause damage.
7. Do not leave this equipment in an unconditioned environment where the temperature is under 0 °C (32 °F) or above 40 °C
(104 °F). It may damage the equipment.
8. The openings on the enclosure are for air convection. Protect the equipment from overheating. DO NOT COVER THE
OPENINGS.
9. Make sure the voltage of the power source is correct before connecting the equipment to the power outlet and ensure
there is an earth connection. Ensure to connect the power cord to a socket-outlet with an earthing connection.
10. Position the power cord so that people cannot step on it. Do not place anything over the power cord.
11. All cautions and warnings on the equipment should be noted.
12. If the equipment is not used for a long time, disconnect it from the power source to avoid damage by transient overvolt-
age.

13. Never pour any liquid into an opening. This may cause re or electrical shock.
14. Never open the equipment. For safety reasons, the equipment should only be opened by qualied service personnel.
15. If one of the following situations arises, get the equipment checked by service personnel:
- The power cord or plug is damaged.
- Liquid has penetrated into the equipment.
- The equipment has been exposed to moisture.
- The equipment does not work well, or you cannot get it to work according to the user manual.
- The equipment has been dropped and damaged.
- The equipment has obvious signs of breakage.
16. CAUTION: The computer is provided with a battery-powered real-time clock circuit. There is a danger of explosion if the
battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Discard
used batteries according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

ing to the instructions.

19. CAUTION: Always ground yourself to remove any static charge before touching the mainboard, backplane, or add-on
cards. Modern electronic devices are very sensitive to static electric charges. As a safety precaution, use a grounding
wrist strap at all times. Place all electronic components on a static-dissipative surface or in a static-shielded bag when
they are not in the chassis.
20. CAUTION: Any unveried component could cause unexpected damage. To ensure the correct installation, please always
use the components (ex. screws) provided with the accessory box.
21. CAUTION: This product is not intended for use by children (this product is not a toy).
(1) This equipment is not suitable for use in locations where children are likely to be present.
22. CAUTION: Improper installation of VESA mounting can result in serious personal injury! Use a suitable mounting appara-
tus to avoid risk of injury. VESA mount installation should be done by a professional technician. Please contact a service
technician or your retailer if you need this service.
23. Repair of the device may only be carried out by trained service personnel. Advantech recommends that a service contract
be obtained with Advantech Service and that all repairs be carried out by them. Otherwise the correct functioning of the
device may be compromised.
24. CAUTION: Do not modify this equipment without authorization of the manufacturer.
25. CAUTION: To avoid risk of electric shock, this equipment must only be connected to supply mains with protective earthing.

37. CAUTION: If the user does not follow the user manual when using the equipment, there will be a risk that the bottom side
of the equipment may open.

Follow these simple precautions to protect yourself from harm and the products from damage.
1. To avoid electrical shock, always disconnect the power from your PC chassis before you work on it.
2. For the sake of the equipment, disconnect power before making any conguration changes. The sudden rush of power as
you connect a jumper or install a card may damage sensitive electronic components.
3. Electronic components are also vulnerable to damage by electrostatic discharge. An electrostatic charge can build up on
the human body, especially where the air is dry. At minimum, dissipate potential body charge before handling an electronic
board by touching a conductive surface on the chassis. Only then should you remove circuit boards from their anti-static
bags. Handle boards by the edges or mounting brackets only; do not touch components or connecting pins.
