Fracture frame model ENT-ACC05 provides a rigid orthopaedic structure that can be adjusted
and adapted to suit all regular types of traction. It is suitable for use with Arjo Enterprise (5000,
5000X, 8000, 8000X, 9000, 9000X), Citadel and Citadel Plus, excluding bed configurations with
IndiGo™ Intuitive Drive Assist and/or with Air Mattress and Air Mattress Control Unit (Citadel
Patient Therapy System).
The fracture frame comprises the following components, as shown in the diagram:

WARNING
Traction should only be applied by clinically qualified persons
This accessory should be installed by two people
Refer to the bed instructions for use to confirm compatibility before using this
accessory
Do not use fracture frame components from other traction systems
Use the Attendant Control Panel to disable all bed functions when the fracture
frame is in use
Do not use the fracture frame with the bed in the extended position
Transport the bed at low height when the fracture frame is installed
Do not use the fracture frame to push or pull the bed
To prevent entrapment, the head end panel must not be removed from the bed
while the fracture frame is installed
Take extra care when moving the bed over irregular surfaces which may cause
vibration, e.g. lift entrances
When adjusting the bed, ensure that the frame and traction equipment do not
collide with other furniture or equipment
Traction cords and weights must be properly installed and securely attached.
Do not attach or suspend items on the fracture frame other than traction
equipment as specified in these instructions
Do not position traction weights inside the fracture frame or above the patient
Ensure that all screw clamps and pulley clamps are fully tightened
Do not install a lifting pole in the additional accessory sockets
The operational life of the strap and handle is five years when used and
maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. After this time,
the complete unit should be replaced
When replacing the strap and handle, always use an approved Arjo part
The strap and handle must not be used by persons under twelve years of age
Do not adjust the strap while a patient is holding the handle as this may damage
the mechanism. After adjusting the strap, make sure it locks with an audible
“click”
Do not twist the strap through more than 180q

as this may cause premature wear

Do not exceed the lifting handle’s safe working load of 75kg (165 lbs.)
Do not exceed the straight bar with clamp’s safe working load of 20kg (44
lbs.)
If a serious incident occurs in relation to this medical device, affecting the user, or
the patient then the user or patient should report the serious incident to the medical
device manufacturer or the distributor. In the European Union, the user should also
report the serious incident to the Competent Authority in the member state where
they are located.
Installation (8 steps)
1. To install screw clamps or pulley clamps: fully undo the screw and open the clamp.
Position the clamp around the fracture frame. Close the clamp and rotate the knob (Fig.
1a) to lock the clamp together and tighten the screw (Fig. 1b).
2. Lower the bed to minimum height and apply the brakes. Use the ACP to disable the bed
controls - refer to the bed instructions for use.
3. Fit the head end bow A into the accessory sockets at the head end of the bed, with the bow
angled in towards the bed (Fig. 2).

4. Fit the foot end bow B into the accessory sockets at the foot end of the bed, with the bow
angled in towards the bed (Fig. 3).
5. Attach the screw clamp on the longitudinal bar C to the middle of the head end bow. Slide the
strap and handle assembly E onto the rail. Fit the double screw clamp D to the bottom of the
pivoted “U” frame on the foot end bow. Use this clamp to attach the longitudinal bar (Fig. 4).
6. Use the clamp to attach the straight bar F to the vertical part of the foot end bow.
Position the bar across the bed or lengthways as required (Fig. 5).

7. Fit protective foam balls G over the ends of the longitudinal bar and straight bar (Fig. 6).
8. Connect one of the equipotential terminals on the head end bow to the equipotential
terminal on the bed frame, using the equipotential lead H. Connect the second terminal on
the head end bow to the equipotential terminals of other equipment (Fig. 7).

Operation (3 steps)
1. Fit the pulley clamps J to the fracture frame and attach traction cords and weights as
required (Fig. 8).
2. Two additional sockets K are provided on the head end bow to attach other accessories
such as IV poles (Fig. 9). Do not install a lifting pole in these sockets.
3. To adjust the height of the lifting handle above the bed, press the button on the side of the
handle and adjust the strap to the required length (Fig. 10).

Maintenance
Before each use, check the general condition of all fracture frame components,
particularly pulley clamps, screw clamps, and the lifting strap and handle.
Replace any worn or damaged parts immediately.
Change the protective foam balls for each patient.
Cleaning
WARNING
Only use approved disinfectants and cleaning methods. Other products may cause
degradation of the equipment and possibly premature failure.
Use all cleaners and disinfectants with care. Obey the manufacturer’s instructions
for use.
Do not disinfect the strap and handle in a pressure chamber, autoclave or steam
cleaner as this may damage the product.
Before cleaning the handle, extend the strap fully and leave it extended until the
handle is completely dry.
Frame: use a hospital grade alcohol or aldehyde based disinfectant solution. Spray the
solution onto the frame components, paying particular attention to moving parts, then wipe
off with a disposable cloth.
Lifting strap and handle: follow the cleaning and disinfection procedures recommended
by the manufacturer – see respective bed Instructions for Use (IFU) or follow local
procedure.
End of Life Disposal
Components that are primarily be made up of different kinds of metal (containing more than
90% metal by weight) for example sling bars, rails, upright supports, etc., should be recycled
as metals.

AVERTISSEMENT
Seul un membre du personnel soignant qualifié est autorisé à mettre
en place la traction
Cet accessoire doit être installé par deux personnes
Référez-vous au mode d’emploi du lit et assurez-vous que l’accessoire
est compatible avant de l’utiliser
N’utilisez pas d’éléments de cadre de traction provenant d’autres systèmes
de traction
Utilisez le panneau de commande soignant (ACP) pour désactiver toutes
les fonctions du lit pendant l’utilisation du cadre de traction
N’utilisez pas le cadre de traction avec le lit en position étendue
Transportez le lit en position basse lorsque le cadre de traction est installé
N’utilisez pas le cadre de traction pour pousser ou tirer le lit
Pour éviter les piégeages, le panneau de tête ne doit pas être retiré du lit lorsque
le cadre de traction est installé
Faites très attention quand vous déplacez le lit sur des surfaces irrégulières
qui peuvent provoquer des vibrations, sur des seuils d’ascenseur par exemple
Lors du réglage du lit, assurez-vous que le cadre et le matériel de traction
n’heurtent pas d’autres meubles ou équipements
Les cordons et les poids de traction doivent être correctement installés
et fermement attachés
N’attachez ou ne suspendez pas d’objets sur le cadre de traction autres
que le matériel de traction conformément aux présentes instructions
Ne positionnez pas les poids de traction à l’intérieur du cadre de traction
ou au-dessus du patient
Vérifiez que toutes les fixations à molette et toutes les fixations à poulie
sont bien serrées
N’installez pas de potence de levage dans les supports pour accessoires
supplémentaires
La durée de vie opérationnelle de la sangle et de la poignée est de cinq ans
sous réserve du respect des consignes d’utilisation et d’entretien du fabricant.
Au terme de cette période, l’unité complète doit être remplacée
Lors du remplacement de la sangle et de la poignée, utilisez toujours des pièces
approuvées par Arjo
La sangle et la poignée ne doivent pas être utilisées par des personnes de moins
de douze ans
Ne réglez pas la sangle lorsque le patient tient la poignée, au risque d’endommager
le mécanisme. Après avoir ajusté la sangle, assurez-vous qu’elle est bloquée grâce
au « clic » sonore
Ne tournez pas la sangle à plus de 180qafin d’éviter une usure prématurée

Si un incident grave se produit en rapport avec ce dispositif médical et affecte
l’utilisateur ou le patient, l’utilisateur ou le patient doit le signaler au fabricant ou au
distributeur du dispositif médical. Dans l’Union européenne, l’utilisateur doit également
signaler l’incident grave à l’autorité compétente de l’État membre où il se trouve.
Installation (8 étapes)
1. Pour installer les fixations à molette ou les fixations à poulie : dévissez complètement la
molette et ouvrez la fixation. Positionnez la fixation autour du cadre de traction. Fermez la
fixation et faites tourner la molette (fig. 1a) pour refermer la fixation et serrez la molette (fig. 1b).
2. Abaissez le lit à la hauteur minimale et bloquez les freins. Utilisez le panneau de commande
soignant pour désactiver les commandes du lit - reportez-vous au mode d’emploi du lit.
3. Mettez en place l’arc côté tête A dans les supports pour accessoires côté tête du lit,
en dirigeant l’arc vers l’intérieur du lit (fig. 2).

4. Mettez en place l’arc côté pied B dans les supports pour accessoires côté pied du lit,
en dirigeant l’arc vers l’intérieur du lit (fig. 3).
5. Attachez la fixation à molette de la barre longitudinale C au milieu de l’arc côté tête. Faites
glisser l’ensemble sangle/poignée E dans le rail. Mettez en place la fixation à double molette
D à la base du cadre en « U » pivotant sur l’arc côté pied. Utilisez cette fixation pour attacher
la barre longitudinale (fig. 4).
6. Utilisez la fixation pour attacher la barre droite F à la partie verticale de l’arc côté pied.
Positionnez la barre à travers le lit ou longitudinalement comme il convient (fig. 5).

7. Mettez en place les boules de protection en mousse G aux extrémités de la barre
longitudinale et de la barre droite (fig. 6).
8. Connectez un des terminaux équipotentiels de l’arc côté tête au terminal équipotentiel
du sommier, en utilisant le cordon équipotentiel H. Connectez le second terminal
de l’arc côté tête sur les terminaux équipotentiels d’un autre équipement (fig. 7).
REMARQUE
Affichage incorrect du poids quand l’accessoire est installé.

Fonctionnement (3 étapes)
1. Mettez en place les fixations à poulie J sur le cadre de traction et attachez les cordons
et les poids de traction comme il convient (fig. 8).
2. Deux supports supplémentaires sur l’arc côté tête K sont fournis pour attacher d’autres
accessoires tels que des tiges porte-sérum (fig. 9). N’installez pas de potence de levage
dans ces supports.
3. Pour régler la hauteur de la poignée de levage au-dessus du lit, appuyez sur le bouton
situé sur le côté de la poignée et réglez la sangle à la longueur requise (fig. 10).

Maintenance
Avant toute utilisation, vérifiez l’état de chaque élément du cadre de traction, en particulier
des fixations à poulie, des fixations à molette, de la sangle de levage et de la poignée.
Remplacez immédiatement les pièces usées ou endommagées.
Changez les boules de protection en mousse à chaque patient.
Nettoyage
AVERTISSEMENT
N’utilisez que les désinfectants et les méthodes de nettoyage approuvés.
L’utilisation d’autres produits peut entraîner une dégradation de l’équipement,
voire une défaillance prématurée.
Manipulez les produits nettoyants et désinfectants avec soin. Suivez le mode
d’emploi du fabricant.
Ne désinfectez ni la sangle, ni la poignée dans une chambre pressurisée,
en autoclave ou à la vapeur, au risque d’endommager le produit.
Avant de nettoyer la poignée, rallongez complètement la sangle et maintenez-la
ainsi jusqu’à ce que la poignée soit entièrement sèche.
Cadre :utilisez une solution désinfectante à base d’alcool ou d’aldéhyde de qualité
hospitalière. Vaporisez la solution sur les éléments du cadre, en veillant tout particulièrement
aux pièces mobiles, puis essuyez avec un chiffon jetable.
Sangle et poignée de levage : respectez les procédures de nettoyage et de désinfection
recommandées par le fabricant – reportez-vous au mode d’emploi du lit concerné ou
respectez les procédures locales.
Recyclage en fin de vie
Les éléments principalement composés de différents types de métaux (contenant plus
de 90 % de métaux en poids), par exemple les berceaux, rails, supports verticaux, etc.,
doivent être recyclés en tant que métaux.

Um das Einklemmrisiko für den Patienten zu verringern, darf das Kopfteil
nie entfernt werden, solange der Frakturrahmen am Bett angebracht ist.
Seien Sie besonders vorsichtig, wenn Sie das Bett über unregelmäßige

Fahrstuhleingänge
Stellen Sie beim Einrichten des Bettes sicher, dass Rahmen und
Traktionsausstattung nicht mit anderen Möbeln oder Geräten zusammenstoßen
Traktionsseile und -gewichte müssen ordnungsgemäß und sicher angebracht sein
Befestigen oder hängen Sie keine anderen Objekte als die in dieser Anleitung
vorgegebene Traktionsausstattung an den Frakturrahmen
Platzieren Sie Traktionsgewichte nicht innerhalb des Frakturrahmens
oder über dem Patienten
Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle Schrauben- und Rollenhalterungen fest angezogen sind
Bringen Sie in den zusätzlichen Buchsen keinen Patientenaufrichter an
Die Betriebsdauer von Befestigungsband und Griff beträgt fünf Jahre,
wenn sie gemäß den Herstelleranweisungen verwendet und gewartet werden.
Nach Ablauf dieser Zeit sollte die gesamte Einheit ausgetauscht werden
Verwenden Sie beim Austausch von Befestigungsband und Griff ausschließlich
von Arjo zugelassene Ersatzteile
Befestigungsband und Griff dürfen nicht bei Personen unter einem Alter

Überschreiten Sie nicht die sichere Arbeitslast (SAL)
der geraden Stange (mit Halterung) von 20 kg
Tritt im Zusammenhang mit diesem Hilfsmittel ein schwerwiegender Vorfall auf,
der den Benutzer oder den Patienten betrifft, sollte der Benutzer oder Patient den
schwerwiegenden Vorfall dem Hersteller des Hilfsmittels oder dem Händler melden.
In der Europäischen Union sollte der Benutzer den schwerwiegenden Vorfall auch
der zuständigen Behörde des Mitgliedstaats melden, in dem er sich befindet.
Installation (8 Schritte)
1. Anbringen von Schrauben- und Rollenhalterungen: Entfernen Sie die Schraube
vollständig und öffnen Sie die Halterung. Legen Sie die Halterung um den Frakturrahmen.
Schließen Sie die Halterung und drehen Sie den Knauf (Abb. 1a), um die Halterung
zusammenzuhalten. Ziehen Sie die Schraube (Abb. 1b) fest.
2. Senken Sie das Bett auf die niedrigste Höhe ab und stellen Sie die Bremsen fest.
Deaktivieren Sie die Bettsteuerung mithilfe des AKF – siehe Bedienungsanleitung des Bettes.
3. Befestigen Sie den Bügel am Kopfende A in den Zubehörbuchsen am Kopfende des Bettes.
Der Bügel ist dabei zum Bett hin abgewinkelt (Abb. 2).

4. Befestigen Sie den Fußende-Bügel B in den Zubehörbuchsen am Fußende des Bettes.
Der Bügel ist dabei zum Bett hin abgewinkelt (Abb. 3).
5. Befestigen Sie die Schraubenhalterung an der Längsstange C in der Mitte des Bügels
am Kopfende. Schieben Sie das Bauteil mit Befestigungsband und Griff E auf die Schiene.
Befestigen Sie die Doppelschraubenhalterung D unten am schwenkbaren „U“-Rahmen des
Bügels am Fußende. Verwenden Sie diese Halterung, um die Längsstange anzubringen (Abb. 4).
6. Befestigen Sie mit dieser Halterung die gerade Stange F am vertikalen Teil des Bügels
am Fußende. Bringen Sie die Stange nach Bedarf über dem Bett oder längs an (Abb. 5).
