Cylindrical Knob Locks

6REMOVE INSIDE KNOB
If received with knob engaged, depress knob
catch with release tool and pull knob off spindle.
ADJUST FOR DOOR THICKNESS
Rotate outside rose in or out depending on door
thickness. Lock will fit any door from 1-3/8" to 1-3/4".
Locks preset at factory for 1-3/4" thick doors.
Distance from underside of
rose to center of retractor.
11/16" for 1-3/8" Doors
7/8" for 1-3/4" Doors

8INSTALL LOCK UNIT*
Lock unit housing must engage latch unit prongs and
retractor must engage latch tailpiece.
NOTES
-If guard bolt function is installed, do not attempt to
mount lock unit when door is closed. Guard bolt
tailpiece will interfere.
-Depress latch bolt slightly to
allow retractor to
engage latch tailpiece.

keyway is vertical and down.

INSTALL LATCH UNIT
After preparing door and jamb according to
template provided, mount latch in door.
Secure with two (2) screws.
1TO PREP DOOR FOR LOCK
Determine correct backset and door thickness. Place template on door
and mark for holes.
TO MORTISE FRAME FOR STRIKE
Centerline for
strike screws
and front screws.
Cut out jamb
for strike.
Locate strike screws
at 1/2 door thickness
measured from stop.
Stop
When strike box
is not used,
recess in jamb
must be deep
enough to allow
latchbolt to
extend its full
free length.

9ATTACH INSIDE ROSE
SNAP ON ROSES: Slip on retainer plate and
fasten with two (2) machine screws. Snap rose
over retainer plate, aligning slot and tab.
Tighten Screws

10 REPLACE INSIDE KNOB
Line up slot in shank with knob catch in spindle. Slide
knob onto spindle. Depress knob catch and push knob
into engaged position.
NOTE
Knob button should be
in unlocked position
when replacing
inside knob.

1. To remove knob, follow steps 1-3 of "To remove cylinder for replacement or rekeying" above.
2. Rotate knob 180° (so keyway is vertical and down). Push knob onto spindle until it contacts
knob catch.
3. Continue with steps 4-6 of "To reassemble" above.
NOTE
When a cylinder function lock is correctly installed, the key
should enter in this position. If not, reverse cylinder as follows:
NOTE FOR PRIVACY FUNCTION:
In an emergency, entrance to a locked
door can be gained by inserting a flat
blade screwdriver into slot located in
center of outside button head.
To remove cylinder for replacement or rekeying:
1. Insert key fully into cylinder.
2. Insert small end of knob collar tool into outside knob sleeve hole.
3. Turn key (in clockwise direction) at least 45° or until depression of knob
catch is felt. Pull off knob.
4. Remove knob collar by using tool provided.
5. Remove cylinder for re-key or replacement.
To reassemble:
1. Insert cylinder into knob.
2. Replace knob collar on knob and press into place.
3. Insert key fully into cylinder.
4. Press small end of knob collar tool into outside knob sleeve hole.
5. Turn key (in clockwise direction) at least 45° or until depression of knob catch is felt.
6. Checking alignment of cylinder head with hole in knob, push knob until knob catch
"clicks" into position.
INSTALLATION FOR DUMMY TRIM
1. Place chassis on door with
knob catch facing edge of
door. Secure with
mounting screws.
2. Attach inside rose.
See Section 9.
3. Replace inside knob. See
Section 10.
