ENGLISH
The Instructions for Use, which accompanies this product, may be revised from
time to time and must therefore be reviewed prior to each procedure in which
the product is used.
Intended use
The Provox®Micron HME™ is a heat and moisture exchanger (HME) and air
ltration device for laryngectomized patients. Provox Micron HME partially
restores lost breathing resistance. For patients with a voice prosthesis or surgical
speech stula it may also facilitate voicing.
Provox Micron HME is intended to be used with the attachment devices in the
Provox HME System.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
This device shall not be used by patients who are unable to handle or remove
the device themselves when needed, unless the patient is under constant
supervision of a clinician or a trained caregiver. For example: patients who are
unable to move their arms, patients with decreased levels of consciousness, or
patients with diseases that put them at a risk for unpredictable periodic loss
of consciousness.
Description of the device
Provox Micron HME is a Heat and Moisture Exchanger combined with an
electrostatic lter. The HME is a foam which contains a salt (Calcium Chloride).
The HME retains the heat and moisture of the exhaled air. When inhaling, the
retained heat and moisture in the HME is given back to the lungs. HME use may
help improve the function of the lungs and reduce problems with e.g. coughing
and mucus production. New users may experience slight discomfort in the
beginning, related to increased breathing resistance. During the rst weeks of
use, mucus production may seem to increase. This is normal and means that the
mucus is getting thinner and easier to cough up.
After a few weeks of HME use, this should stabilize and coughing and mucus
production usually decreases.
The Provox Micron HME lid can be pressed down to occlude the stoma in
order to speak with a voice prosthesis. When the pressure is released, the lid
automatically comes up and the airway passage opens.
Provox Micron HME helps to lter inhaled air through consistent normal
use. Thereby, small airborne particles, e.g., bacteria, viruses, dust and pollen
are restricted from passing through the device into the lungs (see technical
data below).
Note: Provox Micron is not intended to be used as a Personal Protective Equipment
during work that requires breathing protection.

WARNING
Unintentional or accidental pressure on the Provox Micron HME lid may cause
diculty in breathing or suocation.
Inform the patient, caregivers and others of this feature to ensure that they
understand the closing function. By putting pressure on the Provox Micron HME
lid, the airway passage is closed. Closing the airway in order to allow voicing
is a well-known feature for the laryngectomized patient with a voice prosthesis,
but may be unknown for patients without a voice prosthesis.
PRECAUTIONS
Provox Micron HME provides good protection through consistent normal use,
as long as there is no air leakage. However, since there are other pathways for
e.g. viruses and bacteria to enter the human body, total protection can never be
guaranteed.
The same device must not be used for more than 24 hours after initial use. This
can increase the risk for infection due to growth of e.g. bacteria.
Do not wash and re-use the device. Washing the HME impairs the ltering-
and HME functions.
Do not disassemble Provox Micron HME. Disassembly will destroy its
function.
Do not administer medicated nebulizer treatment over the device since the
medication can be deposited in the device.
Do not use humidiers or heated humidied oxygen over the device since the
HME will become too wet.

Instructions for use
Provox Micron HME can easily be attached (Fig. 1, Fig. 2) and removed (Fig. 4)
from the Provox HME System attachment devices when needed. In order to get
good protection, make sure that the seal is airtight by closing the Provox Micron
HME and check for leakage.
In order to speak with a voice prosthesis, press down the lid (Fig. 3). This will
direct the exhaled air through the voice prosthesis. When the pressure is released
the airow will pass through Provox Micron HME again.
Provox Micron HME can be removed during or after coughing if the stoma
needs to be cleaned from mucus.
If you experience any problems with the product, contact your clinic.
Device lifetime
Replace Provox Micron HME when needed. To ensure its proper function, the
same device must not be used for more than 24 hours after initial use. Always
follow medical practice and national requirements regarding biohazard when
disposing of a used medical device.

Verwendungszweck
Der Provox

Micron HME

moisture exchanger, HME) sowie ein Luftltrationsprodukt für laryngektomierte
Patienten. Der Provox Micron HME stellt verlorengegangenen Atemwegswiderstand
teilweise wieder her. Bei Patienten mit einer Stimmprothese oder chirurgisch
angelegter Sprechstel kann das Produkt auch das Sprechen unterstützen.
Der Provox Micron HME ist für die Verwendung in Kombination mit den
Befestigungslösungen aus dem Provox HME System vorgesehen.
KONTRAINDIKATIONEN
Das Produkt darf nicht bei Patienten verwendet werden, die nicht selbst damit
umgehen bzw. es nicht selbst entfernen können, es sei denn, der Patient wird
ununterbrochen von einem Arzt oder einer ausgebildeten Fachkraft überwacht.
Nicht verwendet werden darf das Produkt beispielsweise bei Patienten, die ihre
Arme nicht bewegen können, die nicht vollkommen bei Bewusstsein sind oder
die an einer Erkrankung leiden, aufgrund derer es bei ihnen vorübergehend zu
einem nicht vorhersehbaren Bewusstseinsverlust kommen kann.
Produktbeschreibung
Der Provox Micron HME ist ein Wärme- und Feuchtigkeitsaustauscher und
gleichzeitig ein elektrostatischer Filter. Das HME-Material ist ein Schaumsto,
welcher ein Salz enthält (Kalziumchlorid). Das HME-Material speichert die
Wärme und die Feuchtigkeit der ausgeatmeten Luft. Beim Einatmen wird
die im HME-Material gespeicherte Wärme und Feuchtigkeit an die Lunge
zurückgegeben. Ein HME-Produkt kann zur Verbesserung der Lungenfunktion
und zur Verhinderung von Komplikationen (wie beispielsweise Husten und
Schleimbildung) beitragen. Erstnutzer verspüren möglicherweise zu Anfang ein
leichtes Unbehagen aufgrund des gestiegenen Atemwegswiderstands. Während der
ersten Wochen der Anwendung kann die Schleimproduktion scheinbar gesteigert
sein. Dies ist normal und darauf zurückzuführen, dass der Schleim dünner wird
und leichter hochzuhusten ist.
Nach einigen Wochen der Verwendung des HME-Produktes wird sich dies
voraussichtlich stabilisieren, und der Husten sowie die Schleimproduktion gehen
für gewöhnlich zurück.
Der Deckel des Provox Micron HME lässt sich zum Schließen der Kassette
mit einem Finger eindrücken, sodass die Luft durch die Stimmprothese umgeleitet
und das Sprechen ermöglicht wird. Wenn der Druck aufgehoben wird, kehrt der
Deckel automatisch in die Ausgangsposition zurück, und der Atemweg önet sich.

Provox Micron HME ltert bei dauerhafter und vorschriftsmäßiger Anwendung
die Atemluft. Hierbei werden kleine durch Luft übertragene Partikel, wie
beispielsweise Bakterien, Viren, Staub und Pollen, durch das Produkt daran
gehindert, in die Lunge vorzudringen (siehe technische Daten weiter unten).
Hinweis: Provox Micron ist nicht geeignet für die Verwendung als Arbeitsschutzgerät
bei Verrichtungen, für die ein Atemschutz notwendig ist.

WARNHINWEIS
Unbeabsichtigter oder unkontrollierter Druck auf den Deckel von
Provox Micron HME kann zu Atemschwierigkeiten bis hin zum Ersticken führen.
Klären Sie Patienten, Pflegepersonen und andere Beteiligte über diese
Produkteigenschaft auf, damit sie mit der Schließfunktion vertraut sind. Wenn
Druck auf den Deckel von Provox Micron HME ausgeübt wird, sind die Atemwege
verschlossen. Das Verschließen der Atemwege zur Ermöglichung der Stimmbildung
ist ein bei laryngektomierten Patienten mit Stimmprothese häug eingesetztes
Verfahren, kann jedoch Patienten ohne Stimmprothese unbekannt sein.
VORSICHTSMASSNAHMEN
Der Provox Micron HME bietet bei regelmäßiger und vorschriftsmäßiger
Verwendung einen guten Schutz, sofern keine Luftleckagen auftreten. Da es für
Viren, Bakterien und andere Krankheitserreger jedoch auch andere Wege gibt,
um in den menschlichen Körper zu gelangen, ist eine vollständige Sicherheit
niemals gewährleistet.
Ein und dasselbe Produkt darf nicht länger als 24 Stunden verwendet werden.
Andernfalls kann sich das Infektionsrisiko erhöhen, beispielsweise durch

Bakterienwachstum.
Waschen Sie das Produkt nicht und verwenden Sie es nicht wieder. Wird der HME
gewaschen, führt dies zu einer Beeinträchtigung der Filter- und HME-Funktionen.
Zerlegen Sie den Provox Micron HME nicht in seine Einzelteile. Hierdurch
wird er funktionsuntüchtig.
Verabreichen Sie keine medikamentenhaltige Inhalationstherapie über das
Produkt, da Wirkstoe im Produkt zurückgehalten werden können.
Setzen Sie keine Atemgasbefeuchter oder erwärmten und befeuchteten Sauersto
bei Nutzung des Produktes ein, da der HME dabei zu nass wird.
Gebrauchsanweisung
Der Provox Micron HME kann bei Bedarf problemlos an Befestigungslösungen
aus dem Provox HME System angebracht (Abb. 1, Abb. 2) und von diesen
entfernt (Abb. 4) werden. Um optimalen Schutz zu gewährleisten, überprüfen
Sie den luftdichten Verschluss, indem Sie den Deckel herunterdrücken und auf
Leckagen achten.
Um mit einer Stimmprothese zu sprechen, drücken Sie auf den Deckel (Abb. 3).
Hierdurch wird die Ausatemluft durch die Stimmprothese geleitet. Nach dem
Loslassen strömt die Luft wieder durch den Provox Micron HME.
Der Provox Micron HME lässt sich während oder nach dem Husten abnehmen,
wenn das Tracheostoma von Schleim gereinigt werden muss.
Sollten Sie Schwierigkeiten mit dem Produkt haben, wenden Sie sich bitte an
Ihre betreuende medizinische Einrichtung.
Nutzungsdauer des Produkts
Ersetzen Sie den Provox Micron HME bei Bedarf. Um eine ordnungsgemäße
Funktion zu garantieren, darf ein und dasselbe Produkt nicht länger als 24 Stunden
verwendet werden. Bei der Entsorgung eines benutzten Medizinprodukts sind stets
die medizinischen Praktiken und nationalen Vorschriften hinsichtlich biologischer
Gefährdung zu befolgen.

Beoogd gebruik
De Provox
®
Micron HME
™
- cassette is een warmte- en vochtwisselaar (HME-
cassette) en luchtlteringscassette voor patiënten die een laryngectomie hebben
ondergaan. De Provox Micron HME- cassette herstelt ook gedeeltelijk de verloren
ademhalingsweerstand. Bij gebruikers met een stemprothese of chirurgisch
aangelegde spraakstel kan de HME- cassette ook het spreken vereenvoudigen.
Provox Micron HME- cassette is bedoeld voor gebruik met de bevestigingsmaterialen
in het Provox HME- cassette Systeem.
CONTRA-INDICATIES
Dit hulpmiddel mag niet worden gebruikt door patiënten die niet in staat zijn
het hulpmiddel zelf te hanteren of te verwijderen wanneer dat nodig is, tenzij
de patiënt onder voortdurend toezicht van een clinicus of ervaren zorgverlener
staat. Bijvoorbeeld: patiënten die hun armen niet kunnen gebruiken, patiënten
met een verlaagd bewustzijnsniveau of patiënten met aandoeningen met risico
op onvoorspelbaar periodiek bewustzijnsverlies.
Beschrijving van het hulpmiddel
De Provox Micron HME- cassette is een warmte- en vochtwisselaar gecombineerd
met een elektrostatisch filter. De HME- cassette is een filter dat een zout
(calciumchloride) bevat. De HME- cassette houdt de warmte en het vocht
van uitgeademde lucht vast. Bij het inademen worden de in de HME- cassette
vastgehouden warmte en het vocht naar de longen teruggevoerd. De HME- cassette
kan de werking van de longen verbeteren en problemen met de luchtwegen,
zoals hoesten en slijmproductie, verminderen. Voor nieuwe gebruikers kan de
HME- cassette in het begin enigszins onprettig aanvoelen vanwege de hogere
ademhalingsweerstand. In de eerste weken van het gebruik kan de slijmproductie
toe lijken te nemen. Dit is normaal en betekent dat het slijm dunner wordt en
gemakkelijker op te hoesten is.
Na de HME- cassette een paar weken te hebben gebruikt, moet dit stabiliseren
en wordt het hoesten en de slijmproductie meestal minder.
De deksel van de Provox Micron HME- cassette kan worden ingedrukt om
de stoma af te sluiten en te spreken met behulp van een stemprothese. Wanneer
de deksel niet meer wordt ingedrukt komt deze vanzelf omhoog en komt de
luchtweg open te staan.
De Provox Micron HME- cassette help ingeademde lucht te lteren door
consistent normaal gebruik. Kleine, in de lucht aanwezige deeltjes, zoals bacteriën,
virussen, stof en pollen komen daardoor niet via het hulpmiddel in de longen
terecht (zie technische gegevens hieronder).

als persoonlijk beschermingsmiddel bij werk waar ademhalingsbescherming
voor vereist is.

WAARSCHUWING
Onbedoeld of per ongeluk druk uitoefenen op de deksel van de Provox Micron
HME- cassette kan tot ademhalingsproblemen of verstikking leiden.
Licht de patiënt, zorgverleners en anderen in over deze functie, om er zeker van te zijn
dat ze begrijpen wat de afsluitfunctie doet. Door op de deksel van de Provox Micron
HME- cassette te drukken, wordt de luchtweg afgesloten. De luchtweg afsluiten om
spreken mogelijk te maken is voor laryngectomiepatiënten met een stemprothese
een bekende functie, maar kan onbekend zijn voor patiënten zonder stemprothese.
VOORZORGSMAATREGELEN
De Provox Micron HME- cassette biedt een goede bescherming door middel van
normaal consistent gebruik, zolang er geen luchtlekkage is. Aangezien virussen
en bacteriën echter ook op andere manieren het menselijke lichaam kunnen
binnendringen, is totale bescherming nooit gegarandeerd.
Een apparaat mag nooit langer dan 24 uur vanaf het tijdstip van ingebruikname
worden gebruikt. Langduriger gebruik vergroot het infectierisico vanwege
bacteriële groei.
Het hulpmiddel mag niet gewassen en hergebruikt worden. Door het hulpmiddel
te wassen, worden de lter- en HME- functies belemmerd.
De Provox Micron HME- cassette mag niet gedemonteerd worden. Demontage
verstoort de werking.

Dien geen verneveld geneesmiddel toe via het hulpmiddel, omdat de medicatie
in het hulpmiddel kan neerslaan.
Gebruik geen bevochtigingsapparaten of verwarmde bevochtigde zuurstof via
het hulpmiddel want daardoor wordt de HME- cassette te nat.
Gebruiksaanwijzing
De Provox Micron HME- cassette kan wanneer nodig eenvoudig aan de
bevestigingsmaterialen van het Provox HME- cassette Systeem worden aangebracht
(afbeelding 1, afbeelding 2) en worden verwijderd (afbeelding 4). Controleer
voor goede bescherming of de afsluiting luchtdicht is door de Provox Micron
HME- cassette te sluiten en te controleren op lekkages.
Om te spreken met behulp van een stemprothese drukt u op de deksel (afbeelding 3).
Hierdoor wordt de uitgeademde lucht door de stemprothese geleid. Als de deksel
niet meer wordt ingedrukt, wordt de luchtstroom weer door de Provox Micron
HME- cassette gevoerd.
De Provox Micron HME- cassette kan tijdens of na het hoesten worden
verwijderd als het slijm uit de stoma moet worden verwijderd.
Neem contact op met uw kliniek als u problemen met dit product ondervindt.
Levensduur van het hulpmiddel
Vervang de Provox Micron HME- cassette wanneer nodig. Om een goede werking
te garanderen mag een apparaat nooit langer dan 24 uur vanaf het tijdstip van
ingebruikname worden gebruikt. Volg bij het afvoeren van een gebruikt medisch
hulpmiddel altijd de medische praktijk en nationale voorschriften met betrekking
tot gevaarlijke biologische materialen.

Utilisation
Le Provox
®
Micron HME
™
est un échangeur de chaleur et d’humidité (Heat
and Moisture Exchanger, HME) et dispositif de ltration de l’air destiné aux
patients laryngectomisés. Provox Micron HME rétablit partiellement la résistance
respiratoire perdue. Il peut également faciliter la phonation chez les patients ayant
une prothèse phonatoire ou une stule chirurgicale phonatoire.
Provox Micron HME est destiné à être utilisé avec les dispositifs de xation du
système Provox HME.
CONTRE-INDICATIONS
Ce dispositif ne doit pas être utilisé par des patients qui sont dans l’incapacité
de manipuler ou de retirer le dispositif eux-mêmes lorsque cela est nécessaire,
sauf s’ils sont constamment surveillés par un praticien ou un soignant formé. Par
exemple : les patients qui sont dans l’incapacité de bouger les bras, les patients
présentant une diminution du niveau de conscience, ou les patients atteints de
maladie présentant un risque de perte de conscience périodique et imprévisible.
Description du dispositif
Provox Micron HME est un échangeur de chaleur et d’humidité combiné avec un
ltre électrostatique. Le HME (ECH) est une mousse qui contient un sel (chlorure
de calcium). Le HME (ECH) retient la chaleur et l’humidité de l’air expiré. Lors de
l’inhalation, la chaleur et l’humidité retenues dans le HME (ECH) sont restituées
aux poumons. L’utilisation d’un HME (ECH) peut contribuer à l’amélioration de
la fonction pulmonaire et à la réduction des problèmes respiratoires, tels que la
toux et la production de mucus. Les nouveaux utilisateurs risquent de ressentir
une légère gêne au début, liée à une résistance respiratoire accrue. Au cours des
premières semaines d’utilisation, la production de mucus peut sembler augmenter.
Ceci est normal et signie que le mucus devient plus épais et plus facile à expulser.
Au bout de quelques semaines d’utilisation du HME (ECH), cela se stabilise
et généralement, la toux et la production de mucus diminuent.
En appuyant sur le couvercle du Provox Micron HME, on peut fermer le
trachéostome an de parler avec une prothèse phonatoire. Lorsque la pression est
relâchée, le couvercle remonte automatiquement pour permettre le passage de l’air.
Provox Micron HME permet de ltrer l’air inhalé lorsqu’il est utilisé de
façon normale et systématique. Ainsi, les particules nes en suspension comme
les bactéries, les virus, la poussière et le pollen ne peuvent pas passer à travers
le dispositif et entrer dans les poumons (voir données techniques ci-dessous).
Remarque : Provox Micron n’est pas destiné à être utilisé comme équipement
de protection personnel lors des activités nécessitant une protection respiratoire.

AVERTISSEMENT
Une pression involontaire ou accidentelle exercée sur le couvercle du Provox

Le fait d’exercer une pression sur le couvercle du Provox Micron HME provoque
la fermeture du passage de l’air. L’obturation des voies respiratoires pour permettre
la phonation est une fonctionnalité bien connue des patients laryngectomisés
utilisant une prothèse phonatoire, mais peut-être inconnue des patients sans
prothèse phonatoire.
MISES EN GARDE
Provox Micron HME ore une bonne protection s’il est utilisé de façon normale et
systématique, et que l’air ne passe pas autour du dispositif. Néanmoins, comme les
virus et les bactéries sont capables d’emprunter d’autres chemins pour s’introduire
dans l’organisme humain, une protection totale ne peut pas être garantie.
Le même dispositif ne doit pas être utilisé pendant plus de 24 heures après la
première utilisation. Cela peut augmenter le risque d’infection due par exemple
à la colonisation bactérienne.
Ne pas laver ou réutiliser le dispositif. Le lavage du HME (ECH) altère la
fonction de ltrage ou d’échange de chaleur et d’humidité du dispositif.
Ne pas désassembler Provox Micron HME. Cela peut interférer avec son
bon fonctionnement.
Ne pas administrer de traitement médicamenteux par nébuliseur par-dessus le
dispositif car le médicament risque de se déposer dans ce dernier.
Ne pas utiliser d’humidicateurs ni d’oxygène humidié chaué par-dessus le
dispositif car le HME (ECH) deviendra trop mouillé.

Mode d’emploi
Provox Micron HME peut être facilement xé (Fig. 1, Fig. 2) et retiré (Fig. 4)
des dispositifs de xation du système Provox HME lorsque cela est nécessaire.
Pour bénécier d’une protection adéquate, vériez l’ajustement hermétique en
fermant le Provox Micron HME et contrôlez qu’il n’y a aucune fuite.
Pour parler avec une prothèse phonatoire, appuyez sur le couvercle (Fig. 3). Cela
permet de diriger l’air expiré à travers la prothèse phonatoire. Lorsque la pression
est relâchée, le ux d’air passe de nouveau à travers le Provox Micron HME.
Provox Micron HME peut être retiré pendant ou après la toux pour nettoyer
le mucus du trachéostome.

Durée de vie du dispositif
Remplacez Provox Micron HME lorsque cela est nécessaire. Pour garantir son
bon fonctionnement, le même dispositif ne doit pas être utilisé pendant plus de
24 heures après la première utilisation. Respectez toujours la pratique médicale
et les réglementations nationales concernant les risques biologiques lorsque vous
mettez un dispositif médical usagé au rebut.

respiratoria perduta. Nei pazienti con protesi fonatoria o stola tracheo-esofagea
può anche agevolare la fonazione. Provox Micron HME è destinato all’uso con
i dispositivi di ssaggio nel sistema Provox HME.

CONTROINDICAZIONI
Questo dispositivo non deve essere utilizzato da pazienti impossibilitati a maneggiarlo
o rimuoverlo autonomamente, a meno che non siano sottoposti a supervisione
costante da parte di un medico o di un operatore sanitario specializzato; Ad
esempio: pazienti incapaci di muovere le braccia, con ridotto livello di coscienza
oppure aetti da malattie che provochino perdite di coscienza imprevedibili.
Descrizione del dispositivo
Provox Micron HME è uno scambiatore di calore e umidità (Heat and Moisture
Exchanger, HME) associato a un ltro elettrostatico. Lo scambiatore è realizzato in
materiale espanso e contiene un sale (cloruro di calcio). L’HME trattiene il calore
e umidità dell’aria espirata. Durante l’inalazione il calore e l’umidità trattenute
nel ltro vengono convogliate di nuovo nei polmoni. L’uso del ltro HME può
contribuire a migliorare il funzionamento dei polmoni e a ridurre i problemi legati
ad esempio alla produzione di muco e alla tosse. All’inizio i nuovi utenti potrebbero
provare un leggero fastidio legato all’aumento della resistenza respiratoria. Durante
le prime settimane, il paziente potrebbe percepire un aumento nella produzione di
muco; questa sensazione è normale e signica che il muco sta diventando meno
spesso e più semplice da espettorare.
Dopo alcune settimane, questa sensazione dovrebbe stabilizzarsi e la tosse
e la produzione di muco solitamente diminuiscono.
Il tappo di chiusura di Provox Micron HME può essere premuto per occludere
lo stoma e parlare con una protesi vocale. Quando viene rilasciato, il tappo si
risolleva automaticamente e lascia aperto il passaggio dell’aria.
Provox Micron HME aiuta a ltrare l’aria inalata durante il normale uso
continuo. In questo modo le piccole particelle portate dall’aria, ad esempio
i batteri, i virus, la polvere e i pollini, vengono intrappolate dal dispositivo e non
possono raggiungere i polmoni (vedi scheda tecnica sotto).
Nota: Provox Micron non è destinato all’uso come dispositivo di protezione
individuale per attività lavorative che richiedono una protezione delle vie aeree.

AVVERTENZA
La pressione involontaria o accidentale del tappo di chiusura di Provox Micron
HME può causare dicoltà respiratorie o soocamento.
Informare di questa caratteristica il paziente, i suoi assistenti e altre persone che
lo assistono, in modo tale da assicurarsi che abbiano compreso il funzionamento
di chiusura. Premendo il tappo di chiusura di Provox Micron HME, il passaggio
dell’aria viene interrotto. La chiusura del passaggio dell’aria per consentire la
fonazione è una funzione nota ai pazienti laringectomizzati dotati di protesi
fonatoria, ma che potrebbe non essere conosciuta da pazienti senza tale protesi.
PRECAUZIONI
Provox Micron HME fornisce una buona protezione attraverso l’uso normale
costante, a condizione che non vi sia una perdita d’aria. Tuttavia, poiché vi sono
ovviamente altre vie di passaggio per particelle come virus e batteri per entrare
all’interno del corpo umano, non è possibile garantire una protezione totale.
Lo stesso dispositivo non deve essere utilizzato per più di 24 ore dopo l’uso
iniziale. Questo può aumentare il rischio di infezione a causa della crescita batterica.
Non lavare né riutilizzare il dispositivo. Lavando il ltro HME si compromettono
la funzione di ltraggio e le funzioni HME.
Non smontare il dispositivo Provox Micron HME. Lo smontaggio ne
comprometterebbe il funzionamento.
Non somministrare trattamenti farmacologici mediante nebulizzatore sul
dispositivo perché il farmaco può depositarsi al suo interno.
Non utilizzare umidicatori, né ossigeno umidicato riscaldato sopra il dispositivo
perché il ltro HME risulterebbe eccessivamente bagnato.
Istruzioni per l’uso
Se necessario, Provox Micron HME può essere facilmente collegato (Fig.1, Fig. 2)
e rimosso (Fig. 4) dai dispositivi di ssaggio del sistema Provox HME. Per
ottenere una protezione adeguata, assicurarsi che la guarnizione sia a tenuta d’aria
chiudendo Provox Micron HME e vericandone la tenuta.
Per parlare con una protesi vocale, premere il tappo di chiusura (Fig. 3). Questo
convoglierà l’aria espirata verso una protesi vocale. Quando la pressione viene
rilasciata, il usso d’aria passa di nuovo attraverso Provox Micron HME.
Provox Micron HME può essere rimosso durante e dopo aver tossito se lo
stoma deve essere pulito dal muco.

Durata del dispositivo
Sostituire Provox Micron HME se necessario. Per assicurarne il funzionamento, lo

Indicaciones
El Provox®Micron HME™es un dispositivo intercambiador de calor y humedad
(HME) y de ltrado de aire para pacientes a los que se ha practicado una
laringectomía. El Provox Micron HME restablece parcialmente la resistencia
perdida con la respiración. Puede facilitar la fonación en los pacientes que llevan
implantada una prótesis de voz o una fístula quirúrgica para fonación.
Está destinado para su uso con los dispositivos de jación del sistema Provox HME.
CONTRAINDICACIONES
Este dispositivo no lo deben usar pacientes que no pueden manipular ni retirar el
dispositivo por sí mismos cuando es necesario, a menos que el paciente esté bajo
supervisión constante de un médico o cuidador formado. Por ejemplo, pacientes
incapaces de mover los brazos, pacientes con estados de pérdida del conocimiento
o pacientes con afecciones que los colocan en riesgo de sufrir pérdidas periódicas
e impredecibles del conocimiento.
Descripción del dispositivo
El Provox Micron HME es un intercambiador de calor y humedad combinado con
un ltro electrostático. El HME es una espuma que contiene sal (cloruro cálcico).
El HME retiene el calor y la humedad del aire exhalado. Al inhalar, el calor y la
humedad retenidos en el HME vuelven a los pulmones. El uso del HME puede
ayudar a mejorar la función de los pulmones y a reducir, entre otros, problemas
relacionados con la tos y la producción de mucosidad.

Los nuevos usuarios pueden experimentar una ligera molestia al principio, debido
al aumento de la resistencia al respirar. Durante las primeras semanas de uso,
puede que parezca que aumenta la producción de mucosidad. Esto es normal y
signica que la mucosidad se está disolviendo y es más fácil de expulsar con la tos.
Después de unas semanas de uso del HME, la situación debería estabilizarse y
la tos y la producción de mucosidad normalmente disminuyen.
La tapa del Provox Micron HME puede presionarse para ocluir el estoma
para hablar con una prótesis de voz. Al liberarse la presión, la tapa sale de forma
automática y se abre el conducto a las vías respiratorias.
El Provox Micron HME ayuda a ltrar el aire inhalado con un uso normal
constante. De este modo, se impide el paso de pequeñas partículas atmosféricas,
como bacterias, virus, polvo y polen, del dispositivo a los pulmones (véanse más
adelante los datos técnicos).
Nota: El Provox Micron no se ha diseñado para su uso como un equipo de
protección individual durante un trabajo que requiera una protección respiratoria.
