1 Preface
The Audionet AMP1 V2 isastereo audiopower amplifier of highest
performance and finishquality, and long-life stability. Thissystem is
designed for absolute natural music reproduction.
The following will give you all informationabout how to operate your
AMP1 V2. Pleasereadthiscarefully before the firstuse. Followingthese
instructions,your AMP1 V2 will give you long-lasting pleasure andsatis-
faction.

Important
·Please transport the AMP1 V2 only in the included package.
·Alwaysuse the plastic bag to prevent scratcheson the housing.
·Pleaseallowthe AMP1 V2 to adapt to the climatic conditionsin your
listening room before you switchon the unitfor the firsttime after
transport.

4 Installation and powersupply
Important
·For connecting orremoving loudspeakersand/or the pre-
amplifier your AMP1 V2 mustbe switched off to prevent damage
to the amplifier or the connected units.
·Pleasemakesure that all cablesare in absolute bestconditions!
Broken shieldsor short-cut loudspeakercablescould damage
speakersand/or amplifiers.
4.1Placement
The compact designofthe AMP1 V2 requirestheunobstructed heat dis-
sipation during operation. Pleasemind the following security notes:
Important
·Pleasefind aplace for your Audionet AMP1 V2 that issufficiently
ventilated to allow the heat to dissipate.
·Do not exposethe unit to direct sunlight or in closerange to heat
sourceslike radiatorsor fan heaters.
·Do not cover the ventilation slotsof the unit.
4.2Mains connection
The mainsinput 5 *ison the back panel of the AMP1 V2. Toconnect
the unit to mainsusethe included cord. Ifyou prefer to useadifferent
power cord make surethey meetthe specificationsfor your home coun-
try.
Important
·The electrical specificationsof your home country mustmeet the
electrical specificationsprinted onto the back panel.
·The AMP1 V2 isaClass I unit and mustbeearthed. Pleaseensurea
stable earth connection. The Phase('hot'pin) ismarked 'PHASE'6
on the backpanel for the mainsinput.

·Never pull the mainsplug while the AMP1 V2 isswitched on! Before
you pull the mainscord off the socket, power down the unit to stand-
by mode.
Only in casesof extended absence (like vacations)or if massivetrouble
on the mainspower isto be expected you should remove the AMP1 V2
form the mains.Todisconnect theunit completely from mainspull both
mainsplugs.
Note
·Using high-quality mainscordsasthe Audionet P10, may improve
the sound quality. Please consult your local Audionet dealer.

5 Inputsand outputs
Important
·For connecting or removing loudspeakersand/or the pre ampli-
fier your AMP1 V2 mustbe switched off to prevent damageto
the amplifier or the connected units.
·Pleasemakesure that all cablesare in absolute bestconditions!
Broken shieldsor short-cut loudspeakercablescould damage
speakersand/or amplifiers.
5.1Inputs
The AMP1 V2 hastwo RCA inputs1 and 8for theconnection of apre
amplifier, e.g. Audionet PREG2. Due to thedual monoconstruction, left
and right inputsare separated at the rear.
Pleaseconnect theright 1 andleft input 8of the AMP1 V2 to the cor-
responding outputsof your pre amplifier.
5.2Speaker terminals
Connect your speakersto the goldplated terminals2 and 7 on theback
panel of theAMP1 V2. You canusebananaplugsor spadesaswell as
simple cableends.In caseyou would like to bi-wire your speakersplease
refer to section 'Bi-Wiring'on page 11.
Note
·Look out for the correct connection of yourspeaker cables.Usually,
the terminalsof your speakersaremarked '+'and '-'.The AMPuses
the same marks.
·Wrong speaker polarization will result in severe loss of sound quality!
Important
·Althoughthe AMP1 V2 hasaneffective protection system to pre-
vent damage to the circuits,switch off theunit while working on
the speaker and/or audio cables.

Note
·The nominal loudspeaker impedance should be 2 Ohmsor higher.
·Never use force or toolstightening the terminal screws.
5.3Bi-Wiring
If your speakerssupport bi-wiring, use two separatecablestoconnect
each speaker to the output terminals2 and 7 of the AMP1 V2. Impulse
responseand spatiality may improve significantly.
Note
·Again, please mind thecorrect polarization of the speakers!
5.4Bridged operation
With asecond AMP1 V2 bridged operation ispossible (pleaserefer to
technical information). In thiscase, everyamplifier suppliesonly one
loudspeaker. For that the output signal of the pre amplifier mustbe avail-
able in inverted form additionally (e.g. use the Audionet PREG2).
For the left channel now please do the following:
Connect thenormal signal of the left pre amplifier output to the leftinput
1 and theinverted signal to theright input 8 of the AMPIV2 supply-
ing the left loudspeaker. Pleasemake asolid connection (wire cross sec-
tion of 4.0 mm²) between both (–)loudspeaker outputs.Now pleasecon-
nect the left loudspeaker to both remaining (+)-outputs(the positive input
of the loudspeaker to the (+) output of the left channel).
For connecting the right channelpleasedothe corresponding with the
second amplifier.
Important
·Inbridged operationthe loudspeaker impedance mustbe 4ohms
or more.

5.5Audionet Link
For your convenience,the AMP1 V2 can be controlled remotely by one
of Audionet'smulti channel preamplifiers(e.g. MAP or MAP 1) aswell
asone of Audionet'sstereo pre amplifiers(e.g. PREG2, PRE1 G3) using
the Audionet Link interface.
You only need aoptical 'Toslink'cable toconnect the Audionet Link
output of your Audionet pre amplifier to the Audionet Link input IN 3
of the AMP1 V2.
In caseyouwould like to automatically switch on/off further Audionet
unitsin your system (e.g. asecond AMP1 V2) using the Audionet Link
interface, pleaseconnect the Audionet Link output OUT 4 ofyour
AMP1 V2 to the Audionet Link input of the next Audionet unit (e.g.
power amplifier, tuner, CD playeretc.) usinga simple 'Toslink'cable.
Note
·The 'switch on'signal isissued to any further Audionet unitsdaisy
chained to the Audionet Link output of your AMP1 V2 with alittle
delay to avoid all unitsswitching on at the samemoment, which
could cause an overload of your mainsfuse.

6 Operating
6.1Powering up
Firstof all,pleasemake sure your AMP1 V2 isconnected correctly to
your pre-amplifier, speakersandmains(see section'Installation and
powersupply'on page 8 and section 'Inputsand outputs'on page 10).
The AMP1 V2 isastand-by unit. Assoon asthe amplifier isconnected to
the mains, the unit isin stand-by mode
Only in casesof extended absence (like vacations)or if massivetrouble
on the mainspower isto be expected it isrecommendedto disconnect the
AMP1 V2 from mains.
Important
·Neverpull the mainscord while the AMP1 V2 isswitched on!
Before youpullthe mainsplug, power down the unit to stand-by
mode first.
6.2Switching on/off
Topower up the AMP1 V2 fromstand-by mode, press the power key on
the front panel. Now the AMP1 V2 isin normal operating mode.
If you would like to switch off the unit, pleasepressthe power keyon the
front panel.
Note
·If 'remote controlling'via Audionet-link isused, after switching off
the AMP1 V2 isalwaysin stand-by operation with lowpower con-
sumption. Only in caseof longer absence the AMP1 V2 should be
disconnected from the power supply (mainsunplugged).
6.3Using Audionet Link
If your AMP1 V2 isconnected toan Audionet pre amplifier via Audionet
Link, usethe remote control of the pre amplifier to automatically switch
on/off the AMP1 V2 (and all other Audionet unitsalsoconnected via
Audionet Link).
For setting up the necessary connectionspleaserefer tosection 'Audionet
Link'on page 12.

7 Protection system
Your AMP1 V2 hasapowerful protection circuit to prevent damage of
the amplifier itself or the loudspeakersconnected. In caseof trouble the
AMP1 V2 isswitchedto stand-by state. The source of the problem is
indicated by aflashcode of the LEDnext tothe power key on the front
panel:

8 Technical information
8.1Construction
The AMP1 V2 isconstructed asadual-mono amplifier. SMDtechniques
are used to optimisehigh-frequency characteristics.All signal pathsare
reduced to minimum length. No elementsmaliciousto sound quality (i.e.
coupling capacitors,coils,relays)are locatedin the signal path. The con-
struction ismagnetically and capacitively optimised. Negative magnetic
and electricinfluenceand interaction between input, decoupling and
power section are reduced to a residual minimum.
8.2Power supply
The input sectionsare suppliedby a50 VA toroidal transformer with
separate windingsfor stereo channels.Two potted 700 VA toroidal trans-
formersfeed the power section. The control unit issupplied by separate
transformer.
The capacity of the fastand pulse-resistanthigh-current capacitorsis
188,000 mF. The voltagesare regulated with discrete and optimised ultra
high-speed MOSFET regulators.

9 Security advice
·Avoid packaging material, especially plastic bags,to come into chil-
dren’shands.
·Store and operate theunit in adry room at areasonable room tem-
perature.
·Avoid moisture or any liquid to get into the unit.
·Set up theunit in afree position sothatthe air isallowed to flow
through the unit slits.
·Do not cover, e.g. with a blanket.
·Do not open the case.Unauthorised openingwill causeloss of guar-
antee.
·Use a dry cloth for cleaning.
