1 Introduction
1.1 About this Manual
This manual explains the service operations for telephones in the T3 IP (Tunnelling I55)
family.
1.2 The Display
The operating procedures and display illustrations described in this manual relate to the T3
IP Classic. The designations of the menu options may differ slightly to those for T3 IP Com-
fort and T3 IP Compact.
Example:
You wish to set the volume of the loudspeaker.
Select the menu option ”Settings”. OK key

The volume of the loudspeaker can only be al-
tered by entering a number, or by pressing an
arrow key.
The details on the T3 IP Comfort, Classic and Compact displays differ in the number of lines
and text length. Consequently some of the display texts are different.
Operating steps that are repeated
In the event that an operating step is repeated, you will be referred to the respective de-
scription in another section of the manual.

1.3 Basic rules for operation
It is possible to switch between menu options, thus enabling implementation of the desired
setting. The procedure is identical for all terminals.
More detailed information about the operation of the telephones can be found in the respec-
tive operating instructions.
Selecting functions from the menu and changing settings
Press the “Menu” function key.
Scroll to the desired menu item.
Confirm your selection with the OK key.
The selected function is displayed. In many
cases a submenu is also displayed. You can
scroll through the sub–menu in the same way as
in the menu.
Press the OK key – if necessary several times .
The new setting is shown.

Cancelling or ending a process
If you have made a mistake in an entry or a set-
ting:
Press the Esc- key (if necessary, several times)
in order to cancel the process. You will then re-
turn to the next higher menu level or to the idle
display.

Entering letters
With the T3 IP Comfort you can enter letters directly using the letters on the keypad.
You can enter letters by means of the ”Alpha” keys on the T3 IP Classic terminal.
Example:
You wish to enter a doctor’s appointment.
Select the “Appointments” menu option. OK key
Select the “Enter new appointment” menu option.

Press the ”2” key once in order to enter an A.
