Connecting power to the DSR switch
Power down all servers that will be part of
your DSR switching system. Locate the power
cord that came with the DSR switch. Plug one
end into the power socket on the rear panel
of the DSR switch. Plug the other end into an
appropriate AC wall outlet.
Connecting the local port
Plug your VGA monitor, PS/2 or USB keyboard
and mouse cables into the corresponding DSR
local connection ports.
Connecting a DSRIQ module to the
DSR switch
Choose an available server port on the rear
panel of your DSR switch. Plug one end of a
CAT 5 cable (4-pair, up to 10 meters) into a
numbered port and plug the other end into the
RJ-45 connector of a DSRIQ module.
Connecting a server to the
DSRIQ module
Plug the DSRIQ module into the appropriate
ports on the back of the server. Repeat
this procedure for all servers that are to be
connected to the DSR switch.

Connecting network and remote users
Plug a CAT 5 cable from your Ethernet network into
the LAN 1 connector on the rear of the DSR switch.
You may also use the additional LAN 2 connector as
a fail-over solution.
Connecting an external modem (optional)
The DSR switch can also be accessed using an ITU
V.92, V.90 or V.34-compatible modem. Plug one end
of the included RJ-45 serial cable into the MODEM
port on the back of your DSR switch. Plug the other
end into the RJ-45 to DB-9 (male) adaptor, which
then plugs into the modem.
NOTE: Using a modem connection instead of a LAN
connection will limit the performance capability of
your DSR switch.

Connecting the SPC device to the DSR
switch (optional)
Plug one end of the cable supplied with the SPC
power control device into one of the SPC ports
on the DSR switch and plug the other end into
the SPC device. Plug the power cords from the
target servers into the SPC power outlets. Plug
the SPC device into an appropriate AC
wall outlet.
Powering up targets and switch
Power up each target server and then power up
the DSR switch.
Connecting local virtual media (optional)
Connect virtual media devices to any of the five
USB ports on the DSR switch.
NOTE: To open a virtual media session with
a server, the server must first be connected
to the switch using a virtual media-capable
DSRIQ module (USB2 or USB2L).

Den DSR Switch mit Strom versorgen

So schließen Sie ein SPC-Gerät an
einen DSR Switch an (optional)
Verbinden Sie ein Kabelende des mit dem SPC-
Stromüberwachungsgerät gelieferten Kabels mit
einem der SPC-Ports am DSR Switch. Verbinden
Sie das andere Kabelende mit dem SPC-Gerät.
Schließen Sie die Netzkabel der entsprechenden
Server an die Steckdosen des SPC-Geräts
an. Verbinden Sie das SPC-Gerät mit einer
geeigneten Netzsteckdose.
Zielserver und den Switch hochfahren
Fahren Sie zunächst die entsprechenden Server
und dann den DSR Switch hoch.
Lokale Virtual Media anschließen (optional)
Schließen Sie Virtual Media-Geräte an einen der
fünf USB-Ports am DSR Switch an.
HINWEIS: Um eine Virtual Media-Sitzung
mit einem Server zu öffnen muss der Server
zunächst über ein Virtual Media-fähiges
DSRIQ-Modul (USB2 oder USB2L) an den

Branchez un câble CAT 5 relié à votre réseau

Collegamento del dispositivo SPC allo
switch DSR (opzionale)
Inserire un’estremità del cavo in dotazione con il
dispositivo di controllo dell’alimentazione SPC in
una delle porte SPC dello switch DSR e l’altra
estremità nel dispositivo SPC. Collegare i cavi di
alimentazione dei server di interesse alle uscite
di alimentazione dell’SPC. Collegare il dispositivo
SPC a una presa di corrente alternata.
Accensione dei server e dello switch
Accendere ciascun server collegato e quindi lo
switch DSR.
Collegamento di supporti virtuali locali
(opzionale)
Collegare ciascun dispositivo dei supporti virtuali
a una delle cinque porte USB dello switch DSR.
NOTA: per avviare una sessione di tipo
supporto virtuale con un server, il server deve
essere collegato allo switch tramite un modulo
DSRIQ dotato di funzionalità compatibili con il
supporto virtuale (USB2 o USB2L).

Connecting power to the
DSR switch
Power down all servers that will be part of your DSR
system. Locate the power cord that came with the
DSR switch. Plug one end into the power socket on
the rear of the DSR switch. Plug the other end into
an appropriate AC wall outlet.
Connecting the local port
Plug your VGA monitor, keyboard and PS/2 mouse
cables into appropriately labeled DSR ports.
Connecting a DSRIQ module to
the DSR switch
Choose an available port on the rear of your DSR
switch. Plug one end of a CAT 5 cable (4-pair, up to
10 meters) into a numbered port and plug the other
end into the RJ-45 connector of a DSRIQ module.
Connecting a server to the
DSRIQ module
Plug the DSRIQ module into the appropriate ports on
the back of the server. Repeat this procedure for all
servers that are to be connected to the DSR switch.
Connecting network and
remote users
Plug a CAT 5 cable from your Ethernet network into
the LAN connector on the back of your DSR switch.
Network users will access the DSR switch through
this port.
