An e planation of all available functions can be found below:
Address: With this function, you can determine the DMX start address of the device. Set it channel 001, and
the device will respond to DMX channel 1. Set it to channel 003, then the device will respond to DMX
channel 3 and so on.
DMX Mode: DMX channel mode allows the selection of ‘X’ num er of channels with which certain functions
of the device can e operated. For certain functions, a simple, limited channel mode can e used while
others will require more extensive modes for optimum functionality. For this device, a 17 channel and 20
channel mode is availa le.
Auto Mode: Within this mode, a num er of automatic programs can e selected. You can also choose
whether the device moves at an automatic speed or that it e synchronised to music.
The sound-controlled mode or ‘sound mode’ (SOUN) uses an in- uilt microphone that registers the eat of
music and a runs a program ased on this. For example, the device can move in virtual synchronisation with
any music, providing an automatic light-show. The sensitivity of the microphone can also e set in this
section of the menu.
When no music is detected or only highs are present in the music due to a reak, the device will continue its
program at a slower pace. As such, the light show does not appear to come to a stand still. As soon as
sound is registered y the microphone once more, the device shall continue its program in synchronisation
with the eat.
The music-controlled function is switched on when Sound Mode is On. If Sound Mode is Off, the play ack
speed of the program can e set y changing the ‘Show Speed’ and the ‘Effect Speed’ values.
Slave: In Slave Mode, it is possi le to connect several devices of the same type with one another, via DMX
3-pin XLR ca les so that they perform exactly the same movements and functions at the same time.
Therefore, single devices do not respond individually (or chaotically) and this results in a completely
coordinated show. In the Master / Slave function, the first device in the circuit is set as the Master and does
not receive DMX signal. In ‘Slave 1’ mode, every linked device will take all signals from the Master device
and mimic its movements.
PLEASE NOTE : When Slave mode is activated, the device shall wait for a signal from the designated Master
device. Selecting a automatic or sound-controlled mode is then not possi le! To cancel the Slave mode,
enter the menu and set the device to Master mode. The stand-alone functions can then e activated once
more.
Advanced: The Advanced menu gives the user access to more detailed functions.
Reset: This command resets all functions as if this device has een switched off and on again.
Pan Invert: Invert the Pan values (to mirror the Pan so that it moves in the opposite direction)
Tilt Invert: Invert the Tilt values (to mirror the Tilt so that it moves in the opposite direction)
Display: Turn the display off if it is not eing used for a long period of time or leave it on continuously.
Display Invert: Flip the display so that is the right way up when the device is suspended.
Language: Change the language etween English and Chineese.
DMX Fail / No DMX: Select what the device will do in the event of a DMX signal drop-out or if no DMX signal
is detected. Select ‘Auto’ and the device shall automatically switch to an automatic operation mode. In
‘Blackout’ ij 'Blackout', the device resets to its starting point and no light is projected. By selecting ‘Hold’,
the device shall stay and hold its most recent position and not move.
Software: This function displays the current version of firmware installed on the device. This cannot e
adjusted or changed y the user.

Operation Modes
Please find a clear picture of the differences etween all availa le Operation Modes elow and how they are
affected y the menu functions listed a ove.
Auto:
In Auto Mode, you can select one of the Operation Modes in which the device is not dependent on external
factors such as DMX signals, master signals or sound. Here, one of the asic programmes can e selected
such as setting the alternating speed or correcting the intensity.
Sound:
The sound-controlled mode or ‘sound mode’ uses an in- uilt microphone that registers the eat of music and
a runs a program ased on this. For example, the device can move in virtual synchronisation with any music,
providing an automatic light-show.
When no music is detected or only highs are present in the music due to a reak, the device will continue its
program at a slower pace. As such, the light show does not appear to come to a stand still. As soon as
sound is registered y the microphone once more, the device shall continue its program in synchronisation
with the eat.
Slave
In Slave Mode, it is possi le to connect several devices of the same type with one another so that they
perform exactly the same movements and functions at the same time. Therefore, single devices do not
respond individually (or chaotically) and this results in a completely coordinated show. In theory, y adding a
DMX ooster, an unlimited num er of Slave devices can e linked to one Master device. Initially, no pro lem
would occur if 4 devices were linked and no DMX ooster were added.
Please note: If you link devices of a different type or rand (even if they appear to have the same function),
chaotic or strange ehaviour can occur. This is often ecause certain functions are linked to the incorrect
channels. This applies to DMX lighting of all types and rands.
The ERO Micro Spot can e com ined with the ALO Micro Scan since they share exactly the same control
programs. As such, moving heads and scanners of this kind can e com ined and synchronised perfectly
with each other.
DMX
The DMX Mode is the most comprehensive mode for optimum control over all functions of this device. Via
DMX, it is possi le to control either a limited or large amount of functions via a DMX controller or DMX
software.
The device can e set to different channel modes so the channel layout (included elow) is in alignment with
the layout of your DMX circuit and with the functions you want to use.

or injury, this must e taken into account whenever the device is eing positioned and/or installed.
Upright use
When you want to place the ERO Twister Wash in an upright position, make sure that the device is placed
on a sta le surface such as a ta le, DJ ooth or ar. The ERO Twister Wash is fitted with feet to ensure that
it sits sta le where it is placed and without danger of shifting or slipping while in use.
Suspended use (brackets)
Should you want to suspend the ERO Twister Wash, please use the mounting rackets that are already
fitted on the ase plate of the moving head. These rackets can e mounted y inserting, then quarter-
rotating the quick couplings into the opening.
If you want to suspend the device with a half-coupler or G-hook, this can e done y using the pre-drilled
holes in the racket. Standard hooks and/or rackets for 35 or 50 mm tu es (trusses or light stands) are
availa le from your local retailer.
Hardware for mounting the ERO Twister Wash to the wall, ceiling, or eam is not included. Contact a
specialist if you're not sure what hardware is required for your situation. A wooden eam and stone wall
require different mounting methods.
Should you want to suspend the ERO Twister Wash, you will need to attach a safety ca le to the armature.
This is not included, ut is availa le at your local retailer. The device is fitted with an attachment point for
hooking a safety ca le. Once hooked on, the ca le can e wrapped around the truss or light stand and
attached once more to the same hook. This ensures the device is secure and prevents it from falling, even if
one or oth of the rackets should come loose and fail.
Ensure that the safety ca le has a load capacity of 10x the weight of the armature and that the device can
not fall farther than 30cm. You can wrap the safety ca le around the truss or light stand several times to
ensure the fall is as short as possi le. The shorter the fall, the less chance of damage or injury.
Light source
The ERO Twister Wash uses powerful LED modules that are made even more powerful y a special lens
that com ines and focuses these eams, much like a magnifying glass. Since the human eye cannot adjust
quickly enough to sudden and intense exposure to the level of rightness this device produces, never look
directly into the lens at close range. While it won't result in permanent damage, it can cause temporary lind
spots which may cause disorientation and discomfort.
Movement
Since the device can sometimes move unpredicta ly and has a wide reach due to its construction, please
always make sure that the device can move freely in all possi le directions and that the device is kept out of
reach of any unauthorised personnel. Also make sure to take care when using the menu display during the
device’s operation.
Cooling
The ERO Twister Wash is cooled y fans fitted in the head and the housing. These are activated whenever
the device is switched on. Make sure the fans and vents are not locked and regularly check that they are
functioning normally. Be aware that should the fans ecomes clogged with su stances like dust, smoke and
moisture, this may impair operation and shorten the life-span of the device.

Cleaning and maintenance
Clean the exterior of this device on a monthly asis with a dry, or slightly damp microfi re cloth. Ensure that
the device is unplugged efore cleaning it.
Check that all screws are intact and secured and tighten or replace them where needed. Check all metal
parts of the device for any signs of corrosion. If corrosion is found, the device needs to e checked
thoroughly.
Power Output
The ERO Twister Wash is fitted with a locka le, lue power input and a locka le, grey power output. This
makes it possi le to link multiple devices with one single power supply, wall socket or power lock.
The fuse fitted in this device is intended to protect that single device only. The input and output of the power
supply are directly wired to each other.
Since a standard 230 V group with a maximum of 16A and with each device consuming energy, the output
can take a maximum load of 10A from linked devices. This also includes a calculated safety margin.
DMX Terminator
When using the device in DMX mode, it is common for a ‘terminator’ to e used at the end of the DMX
circuit. A DMX terminator is a terminal resistor, consisting of a 120 Ohm resistor placed etween the second
and third pins to eliminate any data reflections. Data reflections can cause strange ehaviour in DMX
controlled devices.
DMX-terminators are sold read-made ut it is possi le to solder a 120 Ohm resistor etween the second and
third pins of a standard, male XLR connector.
