the cooking of domestic foodst ffs.
oIMPORTANT: The adjacent furniture and all materials used in
the installation must be able to withstand a minimum
temperature of 85°C above the ambient temperature of the
room it is located in, whilst in use.
oCertain types of vinyl or laminate kitchen f rnit re are
partic larly prone to heat damage or discolo ration at
temperat res below the g idelines given above.

Child Safety
oBa matic strongly recommend that babies and yo ng children
are prevented from being near to the appliance and not allowed
to to ch the appliance at any time D ring and after se, all
s rfaces will become hot.
oIf it is necessary for yo nger family members to be in the
kitchen, please ens re that they are kept nder close s pervision
at all times.
General Safety
Make s re that yo nderstand the controls before sing the
appliance.
Check that all of the controls on the appliance are t rned off
after se.
Always stand back when opening the oven door, this will allow
heat to disperse.
Take care when removing items from the oven, as the contents
may be hot.
Always keep the oven doors closed when the oven is not in se.
Always follow the basic principles of food handling and hygiene;
this will prevent the possibility of bacterial growth.
Always keep ventilation slots clear of obstr ctions.
Keep fingers away from the hinge areas when closing the door,
otherwise yo may trap them.
Oven gloves sho ld be sed when placing food in the oven cavity
and when removing it. Care sho ld be taken to avoid direct
contact with any of the elements in the appliance.
oDO NOT LEAVE THE APPLIANCE UNATTENDED WHILST IN
USE
oDo not place heavy objects on the oven door or lean on the
oven door when it is open, as this can ca se damage to the oven
door hinges. Nobody sho ld be allowed to sit or stand on any
part of the cooker.

oDo not store chemicals, food st ffs, press rised containers in or
on the cooker or in cabinets immediately above or next to the
cooker.
oDo not heat p nopened food containers, as press re can b ild
p which may ca se the container to b rst.
oDo not place flammable or plastic items on or near the hob
b rners, these types of materials sho ld also not be placed in
the oven or the compartment below the oven.
oDo not leave heated oil or fat nattended, as this is a fire risk.
Yo sho ld not fill a deep fat frying pan more than one third f ll
of fat or oil; yo sho ld also not se a lid.
oDo not allow fat or oil to b ild p in the oven trays, grill pan or
oven base.
oDo not place pans or baking trays directly on the base of the
oven cavity, or line it with al mini m foil.
oDo not grill food containing fat witho t sing a grill trivet. The
grill trivet sho ld never be covered with al mini m foil.
oDo not place hot parts in water, leave them to cool first.
oDo not allow vinegar, coffee, milk, saltwater, lemon, tomato
j ice or any liq id with high s gar content to remain in contact
with the enamel parts of the appliance. Spillages sho ld be
wiped p immediately.
oDo not allow electrical fittings or cables to come into contact
with areas on the appliance that get hot.
oDo not se the appliance to heat the room it is located in or to
dry clothing. No clothing sho ld be placed over or near to the
hob b rners or oven door.
oDo not install the appliance next to c rtains or soft f rnishings.
oDo not attempt to lift or move cooking appliances by sing the
oven door or handle, as this may ca se damage to the appliance
or res lt in inj ry to the person lifting the appliance.

Cleaning
oCleaning of the oven sho ld be carried o t on a reg lar basis.
oGreat care sho ld be taken whilst sing this appliance and when
following the cleaning proced re.
oIMPORTANT: The appliance must be disconnected from the
mains before followin the cleanin procedure.
oIMPORTANT: Care must be taken when cleaning between
the door glasses, and inside the inner frame as some of
the edges maybe sharp due to the manufacturing process

Setting and using the oven timer
Setting the time of day
Before using the oven for the first time you should set the time
of day
oPress the pl s (3) and min s (2) b ttons sim ltaneo sly to
enter the time-setting mode. The display will a tomatically show
“12.00”.
oUse the pl s (3) and min s (2) b ttons to adj st the time to the
correct ho r. Release all b ttons and after a few seconds the
time will be set.
Setting the minute minder function
You are able to set the minute minder at any time, regardless
of whether an oven function has been selected You can set a
period of time using the minute minder function and an alarm
will sound when this period of time has elapsed
oPress the pl s b tton (3) to enter the alarm setting mode. Set
the period of time that yo wish the min te minder to
co ntdown for by sing the min s (2) and pl s (3) b ttons.
oOnce the display has got to yo r desired co ntdown time, let go
of the min s and pl s b ttons. After five seconds the co ntdown
will begin.
oAn alarm will so nd when the co ntdown time has elapsed. The
alarm can be silenced by pressing the min s b tton (2).
oImportant: The oven will continue to heat once the alarm has
been silenced. If you have finished cookin , then you should turn
the oven function selector and thermostat control knob to 0.
Using the oven
Before first use
oTo remove any resid e from the oven that may have been left
from the man fact ring process, yo sho ld select either the
main or grill oven f nction and t rn the thermostat dial to its
maxim m temperat re setting.
oIt is perfectly normal for a smell to be prod ced d ring this
process.

oYo sho ld make s re that any windows in the room are left
open d ring this process.
oIt is advisable for yo not to remain in the room whilst the
b rning off process is taking place.
oYo sho ld leave each oven on maxim m setting for 30 – 40
min tes.
oIMPORTANT: You should not burn off both ovens
simultaneously
oAfter both cavities have cooled, they sho ld then be cleaned with
warm soapy water, sing either a sponge or soft cloth. No
abrasive cleaners sho ld be sed.
oO ter parts of the oven sho ld be cleaned with warm soapy
water, sing either a sponge or soft cloth. No abrasive cleaners
sho ld be sed.
oWe wo ld recommend that an appropriate stainless steel cleaner
and polish is reg larly sed on the stainless steel s rfaces of this
appliance.
Using the main oven
oTo t rn the main oven on, press and t rn the
control dial to the large flame position nder
the word OVEN.
oWhile still holding the dial inwards, press and
hold the bottom half of the ignition b tton
ntil the oven b rner ignites.
oIf the flame goes o t, repeat all the steps
above keeping the dial pressed in for abo t
five seconds longer.

oOnce the b rner is lit, t rn the knob to a setting from 1 to 8 to
set the temperat re.
oThe table below shows what setting yo sho ld select for the
corresponding oven temperat re:

oThe oven light can be t rned on anytime by pressing the top half
of the ignition b tton. Press this b tton again to switch the light
off.
oThe oven has a flame fail re safety device to ens re that no gas
escapes if the flames are exting ished. There is also a thermal
c t-off which prevents the oven from overheating if the
temperat re exceeds safety limits.
Warning: When lighting the oven burner or grill burner with a
match, take care to avoid burns
You should not place food inside the cavity, until the correct
cooking temperature has been reached
Base burner appliances
IMPORTANT: Your appliance is a Continental style/base burner as
oven, please follow the uidance below, to achieve the best cookin
results.
oThere are two different types of heating methods for gas ovens,
traditional U.K. style and Continental style.
oIn U.K. style gas ovens, the hot air moves aro nd the oven and
the hottest part of the cavity is at the top.
oIn Continental style gas ovens, the heat so rce is nderneath
the base of the oven, which means that the hottest part of the
cavity is at the bottom.
oYo r oven is a Continental style gas oven, which may req ire
some adj stment in yo r cooking method, if yo are sed to a
U.K. style gas oven.
oWe wo ld recommend that yo place the enamelled baking tray
into the lowest shelf position.
oThis will deflect some of the fierce heat generated by the base
b rner away from the food that yo are cooking.

oThis will allow food to cook all of the way thro gh, witho t
getting b rnt on the base.
oYo may also need to make small adj stments to the cooking
temperat re and cooking times that yo normally sed
previo sly.
Using the grill
oTo t rn the grill on press and t rn the control dial to the large
flame position nder the word GRILL.
oWhile still holding in the control knob,
press and hold the bottom half of the
ignition b tton ntil the grill b rner
ignites.
oFor a high heat temperat re, leave the
control on the large flame symbol. To set
a lower heat level, t rn the control dial to
the small flame position.
oYo can t rn the light on any time by pressing the bottom half of
the ignition b tton. Press this b tton again to t rn the light off.
oThe grill has a flame fail re safety device. This ens res that no
gas escapes if the flames are exting ished. There is also a
thermal c t-off which prevents the grill from overheating if the
temperat re exceeds safety limits.
oAlways remember to se the handle when removing the grill pan
and do not leave the grill unattended while in use
oIMPORTANT: You should always grill with the oven door
open NEVER attempt to grill with the door closed

Cooking guidelines
oPlease refer to the information given on food packaging for
g idance on cooking temperat res and times. Once familiar with
the performance of yo r appliance, temperat res and times can
be varied to s it personal preference.
oMake s re that frozen foods are thoro ghly thawed before
cooking, nless the instr ctions on the food packaging advise
that yo can “cook from frozen”.
oYo sho ld pre-heat the oven and not place food inside of it is
properly heated.
oBefore cooking, check that any n sed accessories are removed
from the oven.
oPlace cooking trays in the centre of the oven and leave gaps
between the trays to allow air to circ late.
oTry to open the door as little as possible to view the dishes.
Warnings
oD ring cooking, never place pans or cookware directly onto the
bottom of the oven. They sho ld always be placed on the shelves
provided.
oThe grill heating element becomes extremely hot d ring
operation, avoid to ching it inadvertently when handling the
food which yo are grilling.
oImportant: Be careful when openin the door, to avoid contact
with hot parts and steam.
oIMPORTANT: In case of fire, close the main valve of the as
supply and switch off the electricity supply to the appliance.
NEVER pour water onto burnin oil.

Using the hob top
Before first use
IMPORTANT: You should clean the hob surface
(see “Cleanin and maintenance” section).
oYo sho ld switch on one cooking zone at a time, for 5 min tes
at the maxim m setting. This will help to eliminate any new
smell that exists and evaporate any h midity that has formed on
the heating elements d ring transit.
oDo not b rn off more than one zone at once.
oYou must place a sa cepan filled half f ll with cold water on
each zone as yo b rn it off.
Using the hob top zones
oEach zone on the gas hob top is controlled by a control knob.
oTo t rn on a cooking zone se the relevant control knob for the
zone yo wish to se.
oPress and t rn the control knob to the
large flame position.
oWhile still pressing in the control knob,
press and hold the bottom half of the
ignition b tton ntil the b rner ignites.
oFor a maxim m temperat re keep the
dial t rned to the large flame position.

oFor simmering, lower the heat by t rning the control dial to the
small flame position.
oAlways remember to turn the control knob to OFF when cookin
is completed.
Hob guidelines
oThe diameter of the bottom of the pan sho ld correspond to that
of the b rner.
oThe b rner flame m st never extend beyond the diameter of the
pan.
oUse flat bottomed pans only
oWhen possible, keep a lid on the pan whilst cooking.
oCook vegetables with as little water as possible, to red ce
cooking times.
IMPORTANT: Always place pans centrally over the hob burners and
position them so that the handles cannot et accidentally cau ht or
knocked off. You should also make sure that the handle is not over one
of the other hob burner flames.
Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning operations must only be carried out
when the oven is cool
The appliance should be disconnected from your
mains supply before commencing any cleaning
process
oThe oven sho ld be thoro ghly cleaned before it is operated for
the first time and after each se. This will avoid resid al food
st ffs becoming baked on the oven cavity. After resid es have
been baked on several times, they are far more diffic lt to
remove.
oNever clean the oven surfaces by steam cleanin .

oThe oven cavity sho ld only be cleaned with warm soapy water,
sing either a sponge or soft cloth. No abrasive cleaners sho ld
be sed.
oAny stains that may appear on the bottom of the oven will have
originated from food splashes or spilt food, these splashes occ r
d ring the cooking process. These co ld possibly be a res lt of
the food being cooked at an excessively high temperat re or
being placed in cookware that is too small.
oYo sho ld select a cooking temperat re that is appropriate for
the food that yo are cooking. Yo sho ld also ens re that the
food is placed in an adeq ately sized dish and that yo se the
enamelled baking tray where appropriate.
oO ter parts of the oven sho ld only be cleaned with warm soapy
water, sing either a sponge or soft cloth. No abrasive cleaners
sho ld be sed.
oWe wo ld recommend that an appropriate stainless steel cleaner
and polish is reg larly sed on the stainless steel s rfaces of this
appliance.
oIf yo se any form of oven cleaner on yo r appliance, then yo
m st check with the man fact rer of the cleaner that it is
s itable for se on yo r appliance.
oAny damage that is caused to the appliance by a cleaning
product will not be fixed by Baumatic free of charge, even
if the appliance is within the guarantee period
Cleaning the gas hob top
oRemove the dirty pan s pports from the hob and place in warm
soapy water for some time. Then wash and dry before replacing.
After each use
oWipe the appliance over with a damp cloth and a little washing
p liq id.
oDry the appliance by r bbing the s rface with a clean cloth.
