Installation of Batteries
Open the battery
cover, install 2 AAA
Alkaline Batteries into
the battery
compartment in
correct direction and
polarities shown in
the picture, then close
the battery cover
firmly.
Warning:
To avoid battery leakage and unrecovered damage to the
product, remove the batteries whenever the product won’t
be used for a long period.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Use 2 AAA Alkaline batteries of same brand.
Exchange new batteries whenever a battery low warning
message is shown.
Make sure the batteries are installed in correct directions
and polarities.
Do not treat the used batteries as normal trash, follow the
instructions and policies of local rules to recycle it.
Setting
The LCD will turn on when the batteries are inserted. Input
Local City, Date & Time after System Initialization.
Press / to
move the dotted box
among the items.
While setting Local
City and Date, press to access and start editing,
press again to confirm.
While setting Time, press to access, press /
to select Hour/Minute and am/pm, press / to adjust
the value, press
to confirm and
save.
Move the dotted
box to [完成] and
press to end
the setting.

Main Menu
There are 5 menus: Dictionary/ Learning/ Reference/ Time/
System.
In any screens, press for returning to the main
menu. In any menus, press / / to switch
among the 5 menus.
In Dictionary menu, press or any letter/number to
access XianDai HanYu GuiFan CiDian (The Standard
Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese (2nd Edition))
In other menus, press / / / to select a
function then press to access; Press
corresponding number to access a function directly.
Chinese Input Methods
In the dictionary input screen, press to select among 4
Chinese input methods. The default setting is Smart Pinyin.
Smart Pinyin
Input Hanyu Pinyin with keyboard and select Chinese
words with numeric keys.
Press / to move the cursor to the left/ right to
display more matched results.
Ex. 1,
Input “wm”, find 2-words phrase formed by the Pinyin of
Chinese characters started with “w”and “m”, the result
will be “无名…外面…文明…我们…”.
If you select “无名”, you may access this phrase by
pressing directly.
You may select “火” by pressing [5] to select the 5th
character, then press to access the definition of
“无名火”.
You may also press / to move the cursor back
or forward to select other matched words.
Ex. 2,
Input “ren”and select “1”to input “人”.
Ex. 3,
Input “rsrh”and select “1”to input “人山人海”.

Chinese Handwriting Recognition
Remove the stylus pen from the leather case and use it.
Write Chinese character on the handwriting pad, lift the
pen and wait for recognition results. Select the desire
character with numeric keys.
Radical Strokes Method
Input the stroke number of a Chinese radical, select the
desire radical.
Input the total number of the rest of strokes.
Select the desire Chinese character with numeric keys.
Press if necessary.
Total Strokes Method
Input the total stroke number of a Chinese character.
Select the desire Chinese character with numeric keys.
Press if necessary.
Dictionary - The Standard Dictionary of Contemporary
Chinese (2nd Edition)
All the headwords are listed in Pinyin sequence.
If you know exactly how to input the words, just input them
and press to access the definitions.
You may use Wildcard Search if you don’t know some of
the words. stands for a Chinese character, while
stands for a string of Chinese characters.
If there are vocabularies in the definitions, you may
highlight and cross search the words directly: Press
and then / / / to highlight a character,
press [3 范围] to highlight more than one character. Press
[3 解围] to release it. Press [1 现规] or to show the
definition of these words.
Press to zoom in/out the screen (change font size).
Ex. 1,
Input “安之若素” exactly, press for the definition.

Input “一？一？” ,
press to do
a Wildcard Search.
Ex. 3,
Highlight “异常”, press [1 现规] or for the definition.
Voice: In input screen, press to pronounce the
highlighted words. In definition screen, press to
pronounce the headword and Chinese definitions.
In definition screen, highlight a character, press [4 笔顺]
to demonstrate
the stroke order
of this character.
Chinese Learning
5 Chinese Learning functions are provided: Punctuation
Marks, Chinese Classifier, Basic Strokes, Standard
Radicals, Pinyin Learning and Chinese Character Structure.
Ex. Pinyin Learning
Access the function, press / / / to select a
pinyin, press to access an input screen.
Input a Pinyin, press to show the learning screen.
Press [1]~[5] for listening to the voice of different tones.
Press to read the rules of Pinyin.

Chinese Reference
4 Chinese Traditional Cultures are provided: Commonly
Used Epigraphs, A Hundred Surnames, Three-characters
Scripture and Standards for being a Good Student and Child.
Ex. Standards for being a Good Student and Child.
Press / to view the previous/next page.
Press [1 注释] / [2 译文] /[4 章节] for corresponding info.
Press to read out the paragraph.
Highlight a word to cross check it in dictionary, or
copy/paste it for further search.
Time
There are World Time, Timer, Stop Watch and Calendar.
World Time: Display Time and Date, allow for setting.
Timer: Count down for a set period.
Stop Watch: Start time counting from 00:00.
Calendar: Provide Solar & Lunar Calendar from year 1910
to 2099.
System Setting
Auto Power Off: To save battery power, the unit will turn
off itself automatically whenever it’s not in used for a
certain period. The default setting is 5 minutes.
Contract: Adjust the LCD Contrast to get best view.
Battery: To check the leftover battery power.
Volume: To set the voice volume and speed. You may
press on the keyboard for the same setting.
Pen Lifting: You may set your favorite Pen Lifting time for
handwriting recognition.
Backlight: The default setting is backlight turning on. You
may press on the keyboard to turn it on/off manually.

Warning Notices:
Handwriting Pad: Only use the stylus pen which comes
with the product. Pen, pencil or other sharp items may
scratch and damage the pad.
Clean Display or Pad: The product is non-waterproof. Do
not clean the display or handwriting pad with any liquid.
Simply rub it with a dry soft cloth gently whenever it’s
necessary. In case any liquid get into the product, do not
turn on the power, take out the batteries immediately, rub
and dry the surface and send back to our service center
for further management and care.
Do not drop the unit to the floor, the display and
handwriting pad of this product may crack or damage.
Battery: To avoid explosion or severe damage from high
temperature, do not put the battery into fire and do not
short circuit the positive and negative polar of the battery.
Earphone: Adjust the voice volume to appropriate
loudness to avoid permanent hurt to your hearing.
Other Notices:
Keep the product in dry. Rain water, high humidity or any
chemical liquid may erode the Printed Circuit Board
(PCB).
Do not keep in a dusty and dirty environment to avoid
damage to the parts.
Do not store the product in a high temperature place
(above 40°C), because the life of electronic component,
batteries and plastic may be affected or shorted
Do not store the product in a cold temperature place
(below 0°C) , because when you take it out and put it in a
warm environment, high humidity may damage the PCB
Do not switch on the power but leave the product in room
temperature for at least 2 hours if the product has just
been moved out from an environment below 0°C or above
40°C.
Do not try to disassemble the product by yourself.
Disassembled the product by non-professional and
technical person may make it broken.
Do not throw, drop, hit or vibrate the product, because it
may cause the LCD Crack.
Any damages or malfunctions of this product caused by
force majeure or the user such as battery leakage, LCD or
pad cracked, disassembled the unit, erosion because of
any liquid, etc. are out of the cover of warranty.
