Installation time
The installati n time is approx. 3.75 hours. This may vary depending n the c nditi n f the car and the
equipment in it.
In additi n, the installati n time is increased:
- when exchanging the f twell m dule (cars built bef re 10/10 nly) by approx. .5 hours.
- when exchanging the high-pressure jets f the headlight cleaning system (cars built bef re 4/12 nly) by a
further approx. .75 hours.
The installati n times specified d n t include the time spent n pr gramming/c ding.
The calculati n f the t tal c sts f r the pr gramming time must be fact red int the calculati n f retr fitting c sts
(n inv icing via warranty).
Important information
These installati n instructi ns are primarily designed f r use within the BMW dealership rganisati n and by
auth rised BMW service c mpanies.
In any event, the target gr up f r these installati n instructi ns is specialist pers nnel trained n BMW cars with
the appr priate specialist kn wledge.
All w rk must be c mpleted using the latest BMW repair manuals, wiring diagrams, servicing manuals and w rk
instructi ns, in a rati nal rder, using the prescribed t ls (special t ls) and bserving current health and safety
regulati ns.
If you experience installation or function problems, restrict troubleshooting to approx. .5 hours for
mechanical work and 1. hour for electrical work.
T av id unnecessary extra w rk and/ r c sts, send an inquiry straight away t the technical parts supp rt team via
the Aftersales Assistance P rtal (ASAP).

Installation information
Ensure that the cables and/ r lines are n t kinked r damaged as y u install them in the car. C sts arising fr m this
will n t be reimbursed by BMW AG.
Additi nal cables/lines that y u install must be secured with cable ties.
If the specified PIN chambers are ccupied, bridges, d uble crimps r twin-lead terminals must be used.
All pictures sh w LHD cars; pr ceed acc rdingly n RHD cars.
After the installati n w rk, the retr fit must be pr grammed/c ded via the – Conversions – path.
Ordering instructions
The f ll wing parts are n t supplied in the retr fit kit and must be rdered separately
(see EPC f r part number and details):
- Headlight washer jets H/I f r cars built bef re 4/12
- F twell m dule J in cars built bef re 10/10

6. Concluding work and coding
The retr fit system requires pr gramming/c ding.
- C nnect LED headlight right B and left C acc. t ISTA n . 63 12 015
- C nnect the battery
- Carry ut a vehicle test using the ISTA system and n te r w rk thr ugh any entered err r mem ry.
- Change in the ISTA/P car pr gramming
- Select the "LED headlights" retr fit via the – Conversion – path and w rk thr ugh the created acti n plan
- If using ISTA/P, please n te the instructi ns in the ISTA/P applicati n d cumentati n
- Check the functi n f the LED headlights
- Re-assemble the car appr priately
- Adjust the headlights acc rding t ISTA N . 63 10 004
