Do not archive the hard copy of these installation instructions since daily updates are made by ASAP.
Installation information
Ensure that the cables/lines are not kinked or damaged as you install them in the car.
If the specified PIN chambers are occupied, bridges, double crimps or twin-lead terminals must be used.
Additional cables/lines that you install must be secured with cable ties.
All the figures show LHD cars, proceed in exactly the same way on RHD cars.
Target group
These installation instructions are primarily designed for use within the BMW dealership organisation and by
authorised BMW service companies. In any event the target group for these installation instructions is
specialist personnel trained on BMW cars with the appropriate specialist knowledge.
All work must be completed using the latest BMW repair manuals, circuit diagrams, servicing manuals and
work instructions in a rational order using the prescribed tools (special tools) and observing current health and
safety regulations.
Ordering instructions
The snap-in adapter is not supplied with the retrofit kit and must be ordered separately for the various
telephones.
The voice input control module Ris not supplied with the retrofit kit and must be ordered separately for the
appropriate language.

Clip the existing relay (2) sideways into the relay holder
(3).

Mark the holes (1) on the holder K.
Dimension a:35 mm
Dimension b:133 mm

Drill through the drilling positions with a 7 mm twist drill.
0Insert the holder Kin the footwell and mark the holes (1)
on the cross brace (2).
Drill through the drilling positions with a 3 mm twist drill.
0Wrap the standard wiring harness in the protective strip

wiring harness and connect it to the hands-free
microphone J.
The arrow on the hands-free microphone Jmust
point to the front of the car.
Clip the hands-free microphone Jinto the trim (1).

Release the tied back plug X4221 from the standard
wiring harness and connect it to the hands-free
microphone J.

- Conduct a brief test with DIS/MoDiC III/GT-1.
- Conduct a function test
