1INTRODUCTION
WARNINGS AND TIPS
Before proceeding with the installation read this manual carefully, because the guarantee will
be automatically cancelled as a result of negligence, incorrect operation, improper use or
tampering with the circuit by unauthorised people.
The switchboard can be installed on the wall or on a table using the inclined base supplied. In
video door entry units, the video section item 334402 can be fitted by the side of the switchboard
to allow the display of the entrance panel (EP) from which the call has been made.

1INTRODUCTION
 Programming and display keyboard
In rest conditions the Exchange display shows:
- day ( Mon, Tues, etc. )
- date ( day/month/year )
- time ( hour:minutes )
- operating mode a (automatic)
m(manual)
D (day)
N (night)
When the symbol is displayed on the second line of the display it indicates that other options are
available in the menu chosen which can be selected with the menu management buttons .
Cancelling the selection or cancelling
entered or pre-set data
Confirmation of the selection
displayed or data entering
Selects the various menu options and
moves the cursor in the display to modify
the data entered.

 Keypad
For some functions the keypad can type both numbers and letters.To do this press the same
button several times. As an example on pressing button 2A-B-C-2 appears on the display in
succession; pressing a different button the display cursor moves to the next letter.
To type letters of the same button in sequence, move the display cursor to the next letter
using the button as shown in the example.
Example: to enter the name BAI in the internal directory, proceed as follows

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The switchboard can only be connected to a TERRANEO digital door entry or video
door entry system.
The Switchboard has the following main functions:
● call an IU
● receive calls from the EP and, if necessary, put them through to the IU
● receive ordinary or alarm calls from the IU
● command the EP electric door lock
● switch on the staircase light
● activate a relay
● switch on an EP or camera (
monitoring )
● cycle between the cameras (
surveillance )
The switchboard also has:
●DAY/NIGHT management which can enable the Exchange functions just at set time
bands which the user can program;
●a CALL QUEUE, where the IU calls which could not be answered are saved;
●an INTERNAL DIRECTORY and an EXTERNAL DIRECTORY. Their programming allows
easy identification of the apartment or entrance panel calling.

1INTRODUCTION
First connection
After installing the porter Switchboard, for it to be operative, some functions must be
personalised. This can be done by means of guided menus shown on the Exchange display,
which can be reached from the PROGRAMMING MENU ( chapter 3 ).
The following functions must thus be personalised ( for basic use ):
●CHANGE LANGUAGE (par. 3.4.7)
●DATE/HOUR (par. 3.4.2)
●SECRET CODE (par. 3.4.4)
●CALL SELECT (par. 3.4.8)
●INTERNAL DIRECTORY (par. 3.1)
●EXTERNAL DIRECTORY (par. 3.2)
Factory-set functions
The porter Switchboard is supplied with the following factory settings:
Secret code 12345
Call select STANDARD
Language ITALIAN
Master EP P= 1
Day/Night MANUAL
Day/Night EP ALL ACTIVE
Calls from IU ALWAYS ACTIVE
Panic alarm ALWAYS ACTIVE
To modify the language in which the messages on the Exchange display
are shown:
–enter the PROGRAMMING MENU as indicated on page 25;
–with the button select the SETTINGS menus and follow the
procedure described in sect. 3.4.7.
When this procedure has been performed all the messages on the display
will be in the language selected.

2USE
The following functions characterise the Exchange and its operation.They can all be accessed
directly without using the menus.
2.1 CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS
2.1.1 Call to the Exchange
When the Exchange receives the call:
●it emits an audible signal
( different for calls from EP or IU )
●the red LED comes on
●the NUMBER and NAME of the station
making the call appear on the display
( the name is only displayed if entered in the
phone books, see:
INTERNAL DIRECTORY sect. 3.1
EXTERNAL DIRECTORY sect. 3.2 ).
2.1.2 How to answer a call from EP
When the Exchange receives a call from EP, the display
shows the NUMBER and NAME of the station making
the call ( only if entered in the EXTERNAL
DIRECTORY ).
●To answer the call from EP lift the handset;
●the display shows the Talking mode with the EP. This
message is displayed throughout the conversation
( maximum 1 minute ).
●if necessary press the button to operate the EP
electric door lock;
●hang up.

When the Exchange receives a call from EP, the display
shows the NUMBER and NAME of the station making
the call ( only if entered in the EXTERNAL
DIRECTORY ).
●To answer the call from EP lift the handset;
●the display shows the Talking mode with the EP.
This message is displayed throughout the conversation
( maximum 1 minute ).
●press the button to put the EP on hold. The
Exchange display shows the message – Select
internal - ( the EP cannot hear the conversation between
the IU and the Exchange in any way )
●the IU required can now be selected using one of the
following modes:
1. dial the number or code of the IU to which the call is
to be put through on the keyboard and press the
button
2. scroll the extension phone book by means of the
buttons and confirm the IU with the ok button
3. (
only in standard mode ) type any button on the
Exchange keypad to go to the Search by name pro-
cedure ( sect. 2.2.4 ). When the IU required has been
found press the button.
When the IU called lifts the door entry unit handset, it
starts to talk to the Exchange ( a flashing “A” appears on
the EP display );
●the operator can now:
1. put the call through to the IU, hanging up ( the EP
and IU start to talk to each other and the exchange
cannot hear their conversation in any way );
2. continue the conversation with the EP by pressing
the button.
2.1.3 How to put through a call from EP to IU

2.1.5 Call queue
When the porter Switchboard receives a call from IU, but is busy ( talking to an EP or IU ), or
free but does not answer within 20 sec. ( operator temporarily absent ), this is automatically
saved in the call queue.
If an IU has called several times, only the first call is saved.
The Exchange can save a maximum number of 16 unanswered calls.
The display always shows the last call received in time order.
When the Exchange receives a call from IU, the display
shows ( in standard mode ) the NUMBER and NAME of
the internal unit making the call or ( in coded mode ) the
CODE.
( The NAME is only displayed if entered in the
INTERNAL DIRECTORY, see sect. 3.1 ) :
●To answer the call from IU lift the handset;
●the display shows the Talking mode with the EP. This
message is displayed throughout the conversation
(
maximum 1 minute ).
●hang up
2.1.4 How to answer a call from IU
When there are unanswered calls:
●the red Exchange LED flashes;
●the display shows (
in standard mode ) the PRO-
GRESSIVE NUMBER of the call ( only if more
than one ), the IU NUMBER, the call TIME and
the IU NAME ( only if entered in the INTERNAL
DIRECTORY ).

To call the IU in the call queue:
●select the internal to be called by means of the
buttons ( if the IU has called several times, only the first
call is saved ):
●press or ok to make the call;
●ift the handset and start talking;
●hang up to end.
To cancel the call queue:
●press the ann button twice (
after can been pressed
once a confirm cancellation message appears on the
Exchange display ).

2.2.1 Commands with the dedicated buttons
To select the device to which the command will be sent:
● Type the device system code directly (
if known )
● Select the device from those saved in the IU or EP directoryes
This section describes the system functions possible on the Exchange. The behaviour and
availability of some functions depends on which devices make up the system and their
programming.
When the Exchange is idle ( no conversation is in progress and there are no unanswered
calls in the queue ) one can:
●Call an IU
●Switch on an EP or a camera
●Command the EP electric door lock
●Switch on the lights
●Activate the relays
●Set the DAY/NIGHT operation of the system or the individual EP
Switch on a camera, the master
EP or activate a relay
Command the master EP electric
door lock
Switch on the staircase light

System call
After selecting the address of the IU to be called from the extension phone book, send the call
command by pressing the button.
According to the mode programmed ( standard or coded ), the display shows:
Switching on the EP or camera
After selecting the EP to be switched on, press the button
( If no selection is made, the main EP switches on )
Scanning the cameras in sequence
When the video connection is active, press the button several times to switch on all
the EP and the surveillance cameras in sequence
Activating a relay
After selecting the relay to be activated, press the button
( only works with handset down )

Command of the door lock
After selecting the EP by pressing the button the door lock is activated.
( If no selection is made, the master EP door lock will be activated )
Command of the lights
Pressing the button activates the lights relay which would be activated by pressing the
lights button on the device addressed.
Example: selecting 0001 and pressing the button activates the lights relay which
would be activated by pressing the door entry unit lights button configured as 1.
Selecting 4012 and pressing the button activates the lights relay which
would be activated by pressing the door entry unit lights button configured as 12.
If no device is addressed, the lights relays which have one of the following modes are activated:
MOD = 0 ( generic staircase lights )
MOD = 2 M = 40 ( entrance panel lights )
MOD = 4 ( entrance panel 0 lights )

2.2.2 Commands from the directory menu
After selecting the device to be commanded in the phone book, select the type of command
to be sent by scrolling with the buttons from those available in the menu and confirming
with ok.
Select the phone book (e.g.
EXTERNAL DIRECTORY)
Select the entrance panel
(e.g. 02 FRONT DOOR)
Select the command from:
CALL, OPEN DOOR, DAY and NIGHT
(e.g. OPEN DOOR)
For the INTERNAL DIRECTORY only
the CALL command is available

2.2.3 Putting calls through to slave internal unit
The porter Switchboard can put the calls from the EP through to an slave internal unit ( e.g.
caretaker’s house ).
When this service is active, the calls from EP ring at the Exchange and the slave internal unit
at the same time. The call is taken by the first telephone which answers.
From the slave internal unit one can answer the call, talk to the EP, receive the image and
command the door lock; the call cannot be put through to another IU.
To activate this function:
●press ✴and 1in sequence
a flashing T(transfer) appears on the Exchange display
To deactivate this function:
●press ✴and 0in sequence
2.2.4 Search by name
This function can automatically search for a NAME in the INTERNAL DIRECTORY, if the
standard call mode is active.
To activate the search:
●select by means of the INTERNAL DIRECTORY buttons and confirm with ok;
●press any button on the keypad;
he following message appears on the display
●type the first letters of the name to be looked for (
max 4 ) and confirm with ok;
the display shows the name in the phone book with the search initials
●starting from the name proposed the search can be continued using the buttons.

2.2.3 DAY/NIGHT operating mode
The porter Switchboard can work in two operating modes:
●DAY mode
●NIGHT mode
In DAY mode the Exchange receives all the calls from the EP and can transfer them to the
IU.
In NIGHT mode the Exchange does not receive calls. The calls from EP are sent directly to
the IU.
The operating mode can be activated:
●in automatic mode
( programming by the installer )
see sect. 3.4.3
●in manual mode
pressing the DAY/NIGHT button
Pressing the button changes
the operating time band immediately.
The display indicates the operating mode D( day ) or N ( night ) preceded by the mode of
activation a( automatic ) or m ( manual ).
