1 THIS MANUAL
The conversion instructions describe the procedure for remodelling the
control function of Model 2030 and 2031. Keep this manual where it will
be available for every user and provided to every new owner of the control
cabinet for chamber pressure regulation.
CAUTION! The instructions must be read and understood before remo-
delling work is commenced.
Read the operating instructions carefully. In particular,
follow the chapter “General safety information”
1.1 Symbols
The following symbols are used in these operating instructions:
marks a work step that must be carried out.
DANGER! means an immediate risk.
If it is not avoided, serious injury or death will result.
WARNING! means a possibly dangerous situation.
If it is not avoided, death or serious injury may result.
CAUTION! means a possibly dangerous situation.
If it is not avoided,
• light injury may result.
• the product or its surroundings may be damaged
NOTICE! indicates important additional information,tips and recom-
mendations..

2. GENERAL SAFETY NOTES
NOTICE! The Process valve type 2030/2031 was developed having
regard to recognized safety engineering regulations and
represents the state of the art. However, risks may arise.
Only operate the Process valve in impeccable condition and
while observing the operating instructions.
Pay attention to working instructions, their sequence and
safety information and safety labelling when remodelling the
valves.
Failure to observe this information and incorrect access of
the Process valve releases us from all liability and annuls the
warranty applicable to the devices and accessories.

Access of the facility will result in acute risk of injury.
Disconnect the pressure before loosening lines and valves!
Power is applied to the system.

Always switch off the power before starting work!

worn or defective parts.
Following a disruption to the electrical or pneumatic
power supply, ensure that the process is re-started in a
defined and controlled manner!

If you fail to observe these rules, injuries may result and/or
the equipment or its surroundings may be damaged.

4 CONVERSION OF CONTROL FUNCTION
4.1 Conversion of Control Function A (CFA) to
Control Function B (CFB),

4. 1.1 Installation
Required parts: 1 pressure spring (Pos. 6)
1 o-ring (Pos. 17)

Work steps:
• Hold actuator on square of actuator housing (Pos. 1).
• Dismount cover (Pos. 18) with special key.
• Actuator size G-100/H-125mm:
Remove disc (Pos. 29).
• Remove CFA-springs (Pos. 11, 12).
• Dismount position indicator (Pos. 15).
• Unfasten nut with (Pos. 14) ring spanner, thus counter holding in upper
spindle edge (Pos. 4) with Allan key.
• Remove piston (Po. 9) and upper support disc (Pos. 7 or 13),
CAUTION! thus not injuring the surfaces of the actuator housing
(Pos. 1).
• Remove lower intermediate disc (Pos. 7) and o-ring (Pos. 8).
• Slightly greaes over inner sureface of actuator ring (Pos. 1):
- for PA-actuator with "Lagermeister SL"
- for PPS-actuator with "Amblygon TA 30-1".
• Insert pressure springs (Pos. 6).
• Push lower intermediate disc (Pos. 7) and o-ring (Pos.8) onto spindle
(Pos. 4) until it stops.
• Install piston with pretensioned spring into actuator housing, thus in
spindle (Pos. 6) and piston (Pos. 9) by hand, until spindle thread looks out
of bore hole. Keep piston in this position (you may use the dismounted
CFA-spring to push the piston in) .
• Slide support disc (Pos. 13) over spindle (Pos. 4).
• Wet spindle thread with liquid glue “LOCTITE 274”.
• Install nut (Pos. 14) and release CFB-spring against it.
• Firmly tighten nut (Pos. 14), thus counterholding with Allan key.
• Install position indicator (Pos. 15).
• Actuator size G-100 / H-125mm: Put on disc (Pos. 29).
• Place o-ring (Pos. 17) onto seal of actuator housing .
• Slightly grease over cover thread as on actuator housing.
• Fasten cover (Pos. 18) with special key.
• Examine valve on reliable operation and tightness.

4.2 Conversion of Control Function A (CFA) to
Control Function B (CFB), Actuator size C-40
Differences to other actuators sizes:
• upper spindle(Pos. 4) without hex nut
• slotted lower spindle end (Pos. 4)
• two-part pressure piece (Pos. 5)
• do not damage position indicator (Pos. 15)
since sealed with seal ring (Pos. 27)
• no transparent cap
4. 2.1 Installation
Required parts: 1 pressure spring (Pos. 6)

Work steps:
• Turn valve down and place on cover (Pos. 18).
• Separate valve body (Pos. 22) from actuator by unfastening the screws
(Pos. 24).
• Unbutton diaphragm (Pos. 21).
• Hold actuator square of the actuator housing (Pos. 1).
• Dismount cover with special key (Pos. 18).
• Dismount position indicator (Pos. 15).
• Remove spring (Pos. 11).
• Use 4.5 mm screw driver to unfasten nut (Pos. 14), and hold against on
lower spindle end (Pos. 4).
• Remove spindle (Pos. 4) and two-part pressure pieces (Pos. 5) though
the bottom.
• Push piston (Pos. 9) and other support disc (Pos. 7) through the top.
CAUTION! Do not damage seal surfaces on actuator housing (Pos. 1)!
• Remove lower intermediate disc (Pos. 7) and o-ring (Pos. 8).
• Slightly greases over inner surface of actuator ring (Pos. 1):
- for PA-actuator with "Lagermeister SL"
- for PPS-actuator with "Amblygon TA 30-1".
• Reinsert spindle* (Pos. 4) and two-part pressure piece (Pos. 5) from
below.
• Insert pressure springs (Pos. 6).
• Push lower intermediate disc (Pos. 7) and o-ring (Pos.8) onto spindle
(Pos. 4) until it stops.
• Mount piston, thus prestressed spring (Pos. 6) with piston (Pos. 9) by
hand.
• Slide intermediate disc (Pos. 7) over spindle (Pos. 4).
• Wet spindle thread with liquid glue “LOCTITE 274”.
• Mount nut (Pos. 14) and release CFB-spring against it.
• Firmly tighten nut (Pos. 14), thus counter holding from below with 4.5mm
screw driver.
• Install position indicator (Pos. 15).
• Place o-ring (Pos. 17) onto seal of actuator housing.
• Slightly grease over cover thread as on actuator housing.
* Use mounting sleeve (see 5.2 Mandrells)

• Place cover (Pos. 18) on actuator housing (Pos. 1) an fasteb with special
key.
Continuation 4.2.1 Installation
•Place actuator on cover.
CAUTION! Diaphragm and diaphragm contacting parts must be kept
grease-free by any means!
• Button diaphragm (Pos. 21).
• Align diaphragm: Maker of diaphragm must stand in vertical position to the
flow direction .
• Put the valve body back on (Pos. 22).
• Bring casing screws(Pos. 24) to home position.
• Activate the actuator 2 x.
• Fasten screws crosswise (Pos. 24).
CAUTION! Observing torque (see table)!
• Examine valve on reliable operation and tightness.

Work steps:
• Hold actuator on square of actuator housing (Pos. 1).
• Dismount cover (Pos. 18) with special key.
• Actuator size G-100/H-125mm:
Remove disc (Pos. 29).
• Remove springs (Pos. 11, 12).
• Dismount position indicator (Pos.15).
• Unfasten nut (Pos. 14), thus counter holding in upper spindle edge
(Pos. 4) with Allan key.
• Remove piston (Pos. 9) and the upper support disc (Pos. 13).
CAUTION! Do not damage the sealing surfaces of the actuator ring
(Pos.1)!
• Remove lower intermediate disc (Pos. 7) and o-ring (Pos. 8).
• Slightly grease over inner surface of actuator ring (Pos. 1):
- for PA-actuator with "Lagermeister SL"
- for PPS-actuator with "Amblygon TA 30-1".
• Push lower intermediate disc (Pos. 7) and o-ring (Pos. 8) onto spindle
(Pos. 4) until it stops.
• Insert piston (Pos. 9) into actuator housing (Pos.1) and slide over spindle
thread (Pos. 4).
• Slide support disc (13) over spindle (Pos. 4).
• Wet spindle thread with liquid glue “LOCTITE 274”.
• Mount nut (Pos. 14) and fasten tightly, while counter holding with Allan
key.
• Mount position indicator (Pos. 15).
• Actuator size G-100/H-125mm:
Put on disc (Pos. 29).
• Place o-ring (Pos. 17) onto seal of actuator housing.
• Slightly grease over cover thread as on actuator housing.
• Fasten cover (Pos. 18) with special key.
• Examine valve on reliable operation and tightness .

4.4 Conversion of Control Function A (CFA) to
Control Function I (CFI), Actuator size C-40
Differences compared to other actuator sizes:
• Spindle nose (Pos. 4) without hex nut
• Slotted spindle foot (Pos. 4)
• Two-part pressure piece (Pos. 5)
• Position indicator (Pos.15)
• No transparent cap
CAUTION! Do not damage position indicator (Pos. 15), since seal ring-
sealed (Pos. 27).
4. 4.1 Installation

Work steps:
• Turn valve upside down and place on cover (Pos. 18).
• Separate valve body (Pos. 22) from actuator by unfastening the screws
(Pos. 24).
• Unbutton diaphragm (Pos. 21).
• Hold actuator on square of the actuator housing (Pos. 1).
• Dismount cover (Pos. 18) with special key.
• Remove spring (Pos. 6).
• Dismount position indicator (Pos. 15).
• Use 4.5mm screw driver to unfasten nut (Pos. 14), and hold against on
lower spindle end (Pos. 4).
• Remove spindle (Pos. 4) and two-part pressure piece (Pos. 5) through
the bottom.
• Push piston (Pos. 9) and upper support disc (Pos. 7) through the top.
CAUTION! Do not damage seal surfaces on actuator housing (Pos. 1)!
• Remove lower intermediate disc (Pos. 7) and o-ring (Pos. 8).
• Slightly grease over inner surface of actuator ring (Pos. 1):
- for PA-actuator with "Lagermeister SL"
- for PPS-actuator with "Amblygon TA 30-1".
• Reinsert spindle* (Pos. 4) and two-part pressure piece (Pos. 5) from
below.
• Push lower intermediate disc (Pos. 7) and o-ring (Pos. 8) onto spindle
(Pos. 4) until it stops.
• Slide intermediate disc (Pos. 7) over spindle (Pos.4).
• Wet spindle thread with liquid glue “LOCTITE 274”.
• Firmly tighten nut (Pos. 14), thus counter holding from below with 4.5mm
screw driver.
• Install position indicator (Pos.15).
• Place o-ring (Pos. 17) onto seal of actuator housing.
• Slightly grease over cover thread as on actuator housing.
• Place cover (Pos. 18) on actuator housing (Pos. 1) and fasten with special
key.
* Use mounting sleeve (see 5.2 Mandrells)

Continuation 4.4.1 Installation
CAUTION! Diaphragm and diaphragm contacting parts must be kept
grease-free by any means!
• Buttom diaphragm (Pos 21).
• Align diaphragm: Marker of the diaphragm must stand in vertical position
to the flow direction
• Put valve body back on (Pos. 22).
• Bring casing screws (Pos. 24) to home position.
• Activate the actuator 2 x.
• Fasten screws crosswise (Pos. 24).
CAUTION! Observing torque (see table)!
• Examine valve on reliable operation and tightness.
