1.1 Denition of terms
The term "device" used in these instructions always refers to the
Type2060 angle seat valve or the Type2061 globe valve.
In these instructions, the unit bar stands for relative pressure.
The absolute pressure is stated separately in bar(abs).

3 INTENDED USE
Improper use of Types2060 and2061 may be hazardous to
persons, systems in the vicinity and the environment.
▶The device is designed to control the ow of liquid and gas-
eous media.
▶When using the device, observe the authorized data, operating
conditions and deployment conditions specied in the contract
documents and in the operating instructions.
▶Prerequisites for safe and trouble-free operation are correct
transportation, correct storage and proper installation, start-up,
operation and maintenance.
▶Use the device only in conjunction with third-party devices and
components recommended or approved by Bürkert.
▶Use the device only as intended.

Basic safety instructions

4 BASIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
These safety instructions do not take into account any
unforeseen circumstances and events which occur during instal-
lation, operation and maintenance.
The operator is responsible for observing the location-specic
safety regulations, also with reference to personnel.
Risk of injury from high pressure.
▶Before working on the system or device, switch o the pres-
sure and ventilate or empty the lines.
Risk of burns or re from hot device surfaces due to prolonged
operation.
▶Do not touch the device with your bare hands. Keep away from
highly ammable substances and media.
Risk of injury due to moving parts in the device.
▶Do not reach into openings.
Risk of injury due to bursting lines and device.
▶Because of the risk of pressure surge, valves with the ow
direction above the seat must not be used for uid media.
▶Observe the type of ow and type of medium for operating
the device.
Risk of injury of parts being ejected out when opening the
actuator.
▶Do not open the actuator.
General hazardous situations.
To prevent injuries, observe the following:
▶Secure the device against unintentional activation.
▶Only trained technicians carry out installation and maintenance
work.
▶Following an interruption in the power supply, ensure that the
process is restarted in a controlled manner.
▶Only operate the device when it is in perfect condition.
▶Observe general engineering standards and rules.
Please observe the following in order to protect against
damage to the device:
▶Feed only those media listed in chapter "Technical data" into
the medium ports.
▶Do not mechanically load the device.
▶Do not make any external modications to the valves. Do not
varnish housing parts.

6.1 Conformity
The Type2060 angle seat valve and Type2061 globe valve conform
to the EU Directives as per the EU Declaration of Conformity (if
applicable).
6.2 Standards
The applied standards (if applicable) as used to verify compliance
with the EU Directives can be found in the EU type examination
certicate and/or the EU Declaration of Conformity.

7 INSTALLATION
DANGER!

▶Before working on the system or device, switch o the pres-
sure and vent or empty the lines.
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to improper installation.
▶Installation may only be performed by qualied and trained
personnel.
▶Use an open-end wrench for installation.
▶Following installation, ensure a controlled restart.
For control functionI: Risk of pilot pressure failure.
The valve stays in an undened position in the event of a pilot
pressure failure.
▶To ensure a controlled restart of the device, apply pilot pressure
and activate the medium.
Risk of injury due to moving parts in the device.
▶Do not reach into openings.
7.1 Preparatory work
•Ensure that pipelines are in alignment.
•Remove soiling from pipelines.
•Note ow direction (see type label).
7.2 Removing actuator from the valve
body
→Clamp valve body into a collet.
NOTE!
Damage to the seat seal or seat contour.
▶When removing the actuator, the valve must be in the open
position.
→For control functionA pressurize the pilot air port1 with com-
pressed air: Valve opens.
→Place a suitable open-end wrench on the wrench at of the
nipple.
→Unscrew actuator from the valve body.

7.3 Installing valve body
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to improper installation.
▶Installation may only be performed by qualied and trained
personnel.
▶Use an open-end wrench for installation.
▶Observe the tightening torque value.
Dirt trap for devices with approval according to DINEN161
According to DINEN161 "Automatic shut-o valves for gas burners
and gas appliances", a dirt trap, which prevents the penetration of
a 1mm test pin, must be installed upstream of the valve.
If stainless steel valve body approval applies:
→Mount dirt trap in front of angle seat valve.
Welded connection:
→Weld valve body into pipeline.
Other bodies:
→Connect body to pipeline.
7.4 Install actuator (welded connection)

→Check graphite seal and replace if required.
WARNING!
Danger due to incorrect lubricants.
Unsuitable lubricant may contaminate the medium. There is a
risk of explosion in oxygen applications!
▶For specic applications, e.g. oxygen or analysis applica-
tions, use approved lubricants only.
→Before re-installation, grease nipple thread (e.g. using Klüber-
paste UH196-402 from Klüber).
NOTE!
Damage to the seat seal or seat contour.
▶When installing the actuator, the valve must be in the open
position.
→For control functionA pressurize the pilot air port1 with com-
pressed air: Valve opens.
→Screw actuator into the valve body. Note tightening torque
values according to "Tab. 8".

7.5 Mount accessories
For description, refer to documentation of corresponding
accessories.
7.6 Turning actuator
The position of the ports can be seamlessly aligned by turning
the actuator 360°.
NOTE!
Damage to the seat seal or seat contour.
▶When turning the actuator, the valve must be in the open
position.
→Clamp valve body in a collet
(only for valves which have not yet been installed).
→For control functionA pressurize the pilot air port1 with com-
pressed air: Valve opens.

→Counter with a suitable open-end wrench on the wrench at
of the nipple.
→Place a suitable open-end wrench on the hexagon head of the
actuator.
→Set the actuator to the required position.
7.7 Pneumatic connection
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to connecting unsuitable hoses.
▶Only use hoses that can withstand the pressure and tempera-
ture of the medium.
▶Note the technical data provided by the hose manufacturer.
For control functionI: Risk of pilot pressure failure.
The valve stays in an undened position in the event of a pilot
pressure failure.
▶To ensure a controlled restart of the device, apply pilot pressure
and activate the medium.
7.7.1 Connecting the control medium
If the position of the pilot air ports is unfavourable for
installing the hoses, these can be seamlessly aligned by
rotating the actuator by 360°.
The procedure is described in chapter "7.6".

For usage in an aggressive environment, we recommend
using a pneumatic hose to drain all free pneumatic ports
in a neutral atmosphere.

Improper operation may result in injuries as well as damage to
the device and the surrounding area.
▶Before start-up, ensure that the operating personnel are
aware of and have completely understood the contents of
the operating instructions.
▶Observe the safety instructions and the intended use.
▶Only adequately trained personnel may start up the system/
device.
8.1 Pilot pressure
WARNING!
For control functionI: Risk of pilot pressure failure.
The valve stays in an undened position in the event of a pilot
pressure failure.
▶To ensure a controlled restart of the device, apply pilot pressure
and activate the medium.
→Set the pilot pressure according to the type label information
and ow direction (chapter "8.2 Flow direction").

8.2.3 Flow direction above the seat
Control functionA, CFA: closes with the medium ow via spring
force. The medium pressure supports the closing and sealing of
the valve seat.
The valve opens via pilot pressure.
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to bursting lines and device.
▶Use valves with ow direction above the seat for gaseous
media and vapour only.
In order to ensure complete opening, the minimum pilot
pressure must be used.
8.2.4 Flow direction below seat
Control functionA, CFA: closes against the medium ow via spring
force. Control functionB, CFB: closes against the medium ow
via pilot pressure. The medium pressure aids in opening the valve.
WARNING!
Valve leak if there is too little minimum pilot pressure (for CFB
and CFI) or excessive medium pressure.
▶Note the minimum pilot pressure and medium pressure (see
"6.4.2 Pressure ranges").
9 MAINTENANCE WORK
→Perform a visual inspection of the device once per year. Shorter
maintenance intervals are recommended depending on the
usage conditions.
9.1 Spare parts
CAUTION!
Risk of injury and/or damage due to incorrect parts.
Incorrect accessories and unsuitable spare parts may cause
injuries and damage the device and the area around it.
▶Use only original accessories and original spare parts from
Bürkert.
Wearing parts: Seals and swivel plate.
→If leaks occur, replace the respective wearing part.

1.1 Begrisdenition
Der in dieser Anleitung verwendeten Begri „Gerät“ steht immer
für das Schrägsitzventil Typ 2060 oder Geradsitzventil Typ 2061.
In dieser Anleitung steht die Einheit bar für den Relativdruck. Der
Absolutdruck wird gesondert in bar (abs) angegeben.

3 BESTIMMUNGSGEMÄSSE
VERWENDUNG
Bei nicht bestimmungsgemäßem Einsatz der Typen 2060 und
2061 können Gefahren für Personen, Anlagen in der Umgebung
und die Umwelt entstehen.
▶Gerät ist für die Steuerung des Durchusses von üssigen
und gasförmigen Medien konzipiert.
▶Für den Einsatz die in den Vertragsdokumenten und der Bedie-
nungsanleitung spezizierten zulässigen Daten, Betriebs- und
Einsatzbedingungen beachten.
▶Voraussetzungen für den sicheren und einwandfreien Betrieb
sind sachgemäßer Transport, sachgemäße Lagerung sowie
sachgemäße Montage, Installation, Inbetriebnahme, Bedienung
und Instandhaltung.
▶Gerät nur in Verbindung mit von Bürkert empfohlenen bzw.
zugelassenen Fremdgeräten und -komponenten einsetzen.

4 GRUNDLEGENDE
SICHERHEITSHINWEISE
Diese Sicherheitshinweise berücksichtigen keine bei Montage,
Betrieb und Wartung auftretenden, Zufälle und Ereignisse.
Der Betreiber ist dafür verantwortlich, dass die ortsbezogenen
Sicherheitsbestimmungen, auch in Bezug auf das Personal, ein-
gehalten werden.
Verletzungsgefahr durch hohen Druck.
▶Vor Arbeiten an Anlage oder Gerät den Druck abschalten
und Leitungen entlüften oder entleeren.
Verbrennungsgefahr und Brandgefahr bei längerer Einschaltzeit
durch heiße Geräteoberäche.
▶Gerät nicht mit bloßen Händen berühren. Von leicht brennbaren
Stoen und Medien fernhalten.

des Antriebs.

Das Schrägsitzventil Typ 2060 und das Geradsitzventil Typ 2061

6.2 Normen
Die angewandten Normen (falls zutreend), mit denen die Kon-
formität mit den EU-Richtlinien nachgewiesen wird, sind in der
