Fountainbowls/topsandotherfountaincomponents,whichcollect water, shouldnotbeleftoutsideinthewinter since anycomponent,
whichfillswithwater andfreezesmaycrack.Likewise, componentssuchaspedestals,whichremaininabasin,filledwithwater,
whichthenfreezes,mayalsocrackor crumble. Ideally, therefore, afountainshouldalwaysbestoredindoorsor inadryprotected
place suchasacoveredporchawayfromtheelements. However, ifafountainmustbeleftoutside:
(1) Removepump, rubber stoppers, drainpipes, finials,andother smallcomponentsfor storageindoors. Note that stoppersor
drainpipesareremovedtoallowdrainageintheeventwater accumulatesinanybasin.
(2) Raisefountainbasefromgroundwithwood stripssothat basewill notfreeze tothegroundsurface.
(3) Cover or wrapthefountainwithburlapor other absorbentmaterial (oldblanket or towel) andthencover securelywith
plastic,making surethat water will notaccumulate inthebasinor other fountaincomponentandfreeze;
(4) Checkfountainperiodicallytoensurethatplastic issecureandwater isnotaccumulating inanyfountaincomponent.
-GENERALFOUNTAINTIPS-
Install fountainsonalevel surface. Youwill needaproperlygrounded110-volt (AConly) GFCI protectedreceptaclenear the
fountainfor your pump. All pumpsaresubmersible andmustbecompletelyunderwater tofunctionproperly. Testall pumpsand
adjusttofull outputprior toassembly. Itisnotrecommendedthat fountainsbeplaceddirectlyongrass or dirt. Positionthechannel
opening at thebaseofeachfountaintoward theelectrical outlet tobeusedsince thepump
cord willbethreadedthroughthisopening.

1. Place thebase(FT-279F)into position where thefountain will beinstalled,
ensuringthatit is level.
2. Assemblethepump kit
a. Usingahoseclamp, attach the1/2”non-kink tubingto thepump
outlet.
b. Place thestopper around thepump cord about6”fromthepump.
3. Center thelargebowl(FT-279E)over thebase(FT-279F).
4. Feed thepump cord through theholein thelargebowl(FT-279E)and the
channelin thebase(FT-279F).
5. FIRMLY press thestopper into theholeevenly.
a. Note: Usingthehandleofascrewdriverorhammer works best.
6. Place thepump house(FT-279C)over thepump and in thecenter ofthelarge
bowl(FT-279E).
7. Feed thenon-kink tubing through thetop ofthepump house(FT-279C).
(NOTE:Thesmall bowl (FT-279B)mayhave shifted inshipping resulting in
unevenpipelengths. This canbefixed bygentlytapping thepipes back inplace
with a hammer or similar tool.)
8. Center thesmall bowl(FT-279B)over thepump house(FT-279C).
9. Useahoseclamp to secure theother end ofthenon-kink tubingto thepipe
protrudingfromthebottomofthesmall bowl(FT-279B).
10. Center thefinial(FT-279A) over thesmall bowl(FT-279B).
11. Fit thepipeprotrudingfromthetop ofthesmall bowl(FT-279B)into the
holein thebottomofthefinial(FT-279A).
12. Fit thepump housedoor(FT-279D) into thepump house(FT-279C).
13. Fill thefountain with water.
