2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
2.1) Setting
The head is supplied with an automatic, quick fit male coupler suitable for connection to a hydraulic,
pneumatic or electrical pump from the CEMBRE range.
2.2) Positioning
– Select the appropriate die set.
Two styles of die set are available:
Die Sets for cutting contact wire:
the die profile matches the profile of the contact wire.
Die Sets for cutting conductor:
the die profile matches the profile of the conductor.
– Insert the die set into the head (see § 2.5).
– Position the conductor inside the die set so that the blade (10) lines up with the desired cutting
point.
– Close the die set (see Fig. 3) by moving the Locking Handle (17) towards the tool body, until
automatically‘locked’ in position and securely clamping the wire/conductor (see Fig. 4).
– Operate the pump to advance the blade (10) to the conductor (see Fig. 5).
Before proceeding with the cutting operation, ensure that the Locking Pin (02) is fully inserted in the
head and the Locking Handle (17) is securely locked in position.
Check that the cutting edge of the blade coincides with the desired cutting point; if not open the
dies, by releasing the Locking Handle (17) and repositioning the wire conductor.

2.3) Cutting (Ref. to Fig. 5)
– Continue operating the pump, the blade (10) progressively advances, until the conductor is com-
pletely cut in a clean and precise manner, without deforming the conductor itself.

2.4) Release of dies
– Release the oil pressure from the pump and fully retract the blade.
– By releasing the Locking Handle (17) the dies open and release the wire/conductor.
2.5) Inserting the die set (Ref. to Figs. 1 e 2)
– Remove the locking pin (02) and insert the die set into the top
of the head and position the "locator" (A) in the guide at the
bottom of the head.
Ensure that the recess (B) on the front of the die set faces the
blade (10).
– Fully insert the locking pin (02) into the head.
The die set is polarised and can only be installed one way, to
allow the correct insertion of the locking pin (02).
– To remove the die set from the head: open the locking lever
(17), completely remove the locking pin (02) and slide the die
set out of the head.
3. MAINTENANCE
The oil pressure in the head must always be completely released before disconnecting the head
from the hose.
All maintenance operations must be performed with the head disconnected from the hydraulic
pump hose.
The head is robust and requires very little daily maintenance.
Compliancewiththefollowingpointsshouldhelptomaintaintheoptimumperformanceofthetool.
3.1) Accurate cleaning
Dust, sand and dirt are a danger for any hydraulic device.
Avoid putting the head on muddy or dusty ground. Any dirt particles may score the ram and create
oil leaks.
Every day, after use, the head must be cleaned with a clean cloth, taking care to remove any residual
particles, especially around the moving parts.
3.2) Storage (Ref. to Fig. 6)
When not in use, the head should be stored and transported in the plastic case, to prevent damage.
Plastic case: VAL P15: size 315x300x95 mm (12.4x11.8x3.7 in.); weight 0,93 kg (2 lbs).
The case is suitable for storing the head and up to 4 die sets.

3.3) Replacement of the automatic coupler
To replace the automatic coupler proceed as follows:
– Remove the old coupler
– Carefully clean the thread of the head to remove the old sealant.
– Apply teflon tape to the thread.
– Fit the new automatic coupler and tighten to 30 Nm (22 lbf ft).
3.4) Blade changing (Ref. to Fig. 7)
The blade may become worn or damaged through prolonged or improper use.
Replace the damaged blade as follow:
– Remove the die set from the head, operate the pump to advance the blade (10) until the spring
pin (09) in the ram (21) is accessible.
– Use a suitable drift to remove the spring pin (09) and release the blade (10).
– Note the orientation of the blade (10). Remove the blade and fit the replacement.
Fit the spring pin (09) and release the oil pressure.

2. INSTRUCTIONS D'UTILISATION
2.1) Mise en service
La tête est munie d’un raccord rapide mâle à blocage automatique et peut être reliée aussi bien à
des pompes hydrauliques à pied ou manuelles qu’à des pompes pneumo et électro-hydrauliques
CEMBRE.
2.2).Positionnement
Choisir le type de bloc-matrices adapté au conducteur (fil de contact ou conducteur) à couper; deux
types de bloc-matrices sont prévus:
Matrices pour la coupe des fils rainurés de contact:
le bloc-matrices a une forme qui reproduit le profil du fil de contact à couper.
Matrices pour la coupe de conducteurs:
le bloc-matrices est de dimensions adaptée au conducteur à couper.
– Introduire le bloc-matrices à l'intérieur de la tête (voir § 2.5).
– Placer le conducteur à l'intérieur du bloc-matrices de façon à ce que la lame (10) se trouve au
niveau du point de coupe souhaité.
– Fermer les matrices (voir Fig. 3) en portant la poignée de blocage (17) vers le bas jusqu'à son ver-
rouillage; le conducteur est alors positionné pour la coupe (voir Fig. 4).
– Enactionnant la pompe defaçoncontinue,on approchera la lame (10) duconducteur (voirFig.5).
Avant de procéder à l'opération de découpe, veiller à ce que l'axe (02) soit engagé à fond et que la
poignée de blocage (17) soit parfaitement verrouillée.
S'assurer que la lame se trouve au niveau du point de coupe souhaité; si ce n'est pas le cas, rouvrir
les matrices en agissant sur la poignée de blocage et remettre en place le conducteur.

2.3) Coupe (Voir Fig. 5)
– Continueràactionnerlapompe;lalame(10)avanceraprogressivementjusqu'àlacoupecomplète
du conducteur qui sera effectuée de façon nette et précise sans aucune déformation de celui-ci.

2.4) Réouverture du bloc-matrices
– Pour rentrer le piston, agir sur le dispositif d’évacuation de la pression d’huile de la pompe jusqu’à
ce que la lame soit complètement rétractée.
– Débloquer la poignée (17); les matrices s'ouvrent et le conducteur est libéré.
2.5) Introduction du bloc-matrices (Voir Fig. 1 et 2)
– Extraire l'axe (02) et introduire le bloc-matrices à l'intérieur
de la tête par le haut de façon à ce que du les guides (A) se
placent dans la gorge du fond de la tête et que les dégag-
ments (B) sur le devant des matrices soient tournés vers la
lame (10).
– Introduire l'axe (02) à fond jusqu'à la butée.
Lepositionnementdubloc-matricesàl'intérieurde la têteest
"détrompé";lamiseenplacedel'axe(02)neserapossibleque
s'il est introduit correctement.
– Pourenleverlebloc-matricesdelatête,débloquerlapoignée
(17), extraire complètement l'axe (02) et sortir le bloc par le
haut.
3. ENTRETIEN
Avant de débrancher le raccord rapide qui relie la tête au flexible de la pompe hydraulique, vérifier
que la pression de l’huile a été complètement évacuée.
Toutes les opérations d’entretien doivent être effectuées sur la tête débranchée du flexible de la
pompe hydraulique.
Cette tête est robuste et ne nécessite aucune attention ou entretien particulier.
Les recommandations qui suivent sont néanmoins souhaitables pour lui assurer une longévité
optimum:
3.1) Nettoyage élémentaire
Veiller à protéger l'outil de la poussiére, du sable et de la boue qui sont un danger à tout système
hydraulique. Chaque jour après utilisation, l'outil doit être nettoyé à l'aide d'un chiffon propre, tout
particulièrement aux endroits de pièces mobiles.
3.2) Rangement (Voir Fig. 6)
Il est de bonne règle de ranger la tête dans son coffret, fermé, après usage, en protection des chocs

Les éléments accompagnés d’un () sont ceux que CEMBRE recommande de remplacer en cas de démontage
de la pompe.
La garantie perd tout effet en cas d'emploi de pièces détachées différentes des pièces d'origine CEMBRE.
Lors de la commande de pièces détachées, veuillez d'indiquer toujours les éléments suivants:
- numéro de code article de la pièce
- désignation de la pièce
- type de tête
- numéro de série de la tête
3.3) Remplacement du raccord rapide
Pour remplacer le raccord rapide, procéder de la façon suivante:
– Dévisser l'ancien raccord rapide de la tête.
– Nettoyer soigneusement le filetage mâle du cylindre pour enlever tous les résidus de téflon.
– Recouvrir le filetage du cylindre de téflon.
– Visser le raccord rapide neuf sur la tête en appliquant un couple de serrage de 30 Nm (22 lbf ft).
3.4) Changement de la lame (Voir Fig. 7)
Il peut arriver que la lame s’abîme à la suite d’un emploi prolongé ou incorrect.
L’opération qui consiste à remplacer la lame endommagée par une lame neuve est simple à réaliser:
– Latêteétant dépourvue du bloc-matrices,actionnerla pompe et faire avancerlalame (10) jusqu'à
mettre en vue la goupille élastique (09) sur le piston (21).
– A l'aide d'un outil pointu, chasser la goupille élastique (09) de façon à libérer la lame (10).
– Enlever la vieille lame de son logement dans le piston, introduire la lame neuve et la bloquer à
l'aide de la goupille élastique.

2. BEDIENUNGSHINWEISE
2.1) Vorbereitung
Der Kopf ist mit einem Schnellanschluß mit automatischer Sperre versehen und kann sowohl mit
hydraulischen hand-und fussbetätigten Pumpen als auch mit pneumatisch- sowie elektrohydrau-
lischen Pumpen der Firma CEMBRE verbunden werden.
2.2) Positionieren
– Die für den Leiter (Fahrdraht oder Seil) geeignete Matrizeneinheit wählen; es stehen zweiArten
von Matrizen zur Verfügung:
Matrizen zum Schneiden von Fahrdraht
Die Matrizeneinheit hat die Form wie das Profil des zu schneidenden Fahrdrahtes.
Matrizen zum Schneiden von Leiterseilen
Die Matrizeneinheit hat die Form wie das zu schneidende Seil.
– Der Bolzen (02) rausziehen und die Matrizeneinheit in den Kopf einführen (siehe § 2.5).
– Den Leiter in der Matrizeneinheit so positionieren, dass sich das Messer (10) am gewünschten
Schnittpunkt befindet.
– Die Matrizen derch drücken (siehe Bild 3) des Sperrhebels (17) bis zur Endposition schließen
(siehe Bild 4).
– Wenn der Sperrhebel fest angedrückt ist, kann der Fahrdraht oder das Seil geschnitten werden.
– Bei gleichmäßiger Betätigung der Pumpe fährt das Schneidmesser (10) vor (siehe Bild 5).
Bevor man mit dem Schneidvorgang anfängt, hat man sich zu vergewissern, dass der Bolzen (02)
gut eingeführt worden ist und dass der Sperrhebel (17) vollständig blockiert ist.
Sichvergewissern,obsichdasMesseramgewünschtenSchnittpunktbefindet.SolltediesnichtderFall
sein, müssen die Matrizen durch den Sperrhebel geöffnet und der Leiter erneut positioniert werden.

2.3) Schneiden (Siehe Bild 5)
–Beim kontinuierlichen gleichmässigen der Pumpe fährt das Messer (10) bis zum kompletten
Schneiden des Leiters nach vorne. Der Schnitt erfolgt sehr genau und der Fahrdraht oder Das
Seil wird dabei nicht unnötig verformt.

2.4) Öffnen der Matrizen
– ZumzurückfahrendesSchneidmessers mussanderPumpedasentsprechendeDruckablassventil
betätigt werden.
– Den Sperrhebel (17) öffnen: Die Matrizen öffnen sich und der Leiter wird freigegeben.
2.5 Einführung der Matrizeneinheit (Siehe Bild 1 und 2)
– DerBolzen(02)rausziehenunddieMatrizeneinheitvonoben
in den Kopf einführen so das die Führung (A) in der Boden
des Kopfes einrastet. Die Vertiefung (B) an der Vorderseite
der Matrize muss auf das Schneidmesser gerichtet sein.
– Den Bolzen (02) vollständig bis zum Anschlag einführen.
Das Positionieren der Matrizeneinheit innerhalb des Kopfes
kann nur in eine Richtung erfolgen:
Bei nicht korrektem Positionieren kann der Bolzen (01)
nicht eingeführt werden.
– Um die Matrizeneinheit zu entfernen muss der Sperrhebel
(17) gelöst und der Bolzen (02) gezogen werden.
Anschließend kann die Matrizeneinheit von oben entnom-
men werden.
3. WARTUNG
VordemSchnellanschlußzurVerbindungdesKopfesmitdemHochdruckschlauchderhydraulischen
Pumpe hat man sich zu vergewissern, daß der Öldruck vollständig abgelassen worden ist.
Sämtliche Kopf-Wartungsarbeiten sind mit abgetrenntem Kopf vom Hochdruck-schlauch der hy-
draulischen Pumpe durchzuführen.
Der Kopf ist robust und benötigt keine spezielle Pflege oder Instandhaltung. Zur Erhaltung der
Garantieansprüche beachten Sie folgende Hinweise:
3.1) Pflege
Dieses hydraulischeWerkzeug sollte vor starker Verschmutzung geschützt werden, da diese für ein
hydraulisches System gefährlich ist. Jeden Tag nach der Arbeit sollte das Werkzeug mit einem Tuch
von Schmutz und Staub gereinigt werden, besonders diebe-weglichen Teile.
3.2) Lagerung (Siehe Bild 6)
Wenn das Werkzeug nicht benötigt wird, sollte es in der Kunststoffkassette gelagert werden und
ist somit gegen Beschädigungen wie Stoss und Staub geschützt.
Die Kunststoffkassette (Typ VAL P15) hat die Abmasse 315x300x95 mm (12.4x11.8x3.7 in.) und ein
Gewicht von 0,93 kg (2 lbs) und geeignet zum Lagern vom Kopf, wie auch 4 Matrizeneinheiten.
