Congratulations on the purchase of this premium electric heater.
CONVECTAIR develops and produces the highest quality heating product

To obtain the best results and the ultimate in performance and comfort, please

To shut o󰀨 heater operation:
Press the " " (A) key briey.
To set the desired temperature :
Using the "+" and "–" (B) keys, you can raise or lower the desired temperature
setting (see page 9).
Fast heat :
Turn the heater on.
Press on the " " (D) key, the heater will run full power (2000 W) for the duration
set on the timer (adjustable from 5 to 90 minutes) (see page 9).

1 SPECIFICATIONS
- Your new SAMBA II is a convection and fan-forced recessed heater.
- This heater is equipped with a two-stage electronic thermostat with two heat levels. A rst
1000 W of convection regulated with the electronic thermostat and another 2000 W of fast
heat on demand with the fan.
- Minimum obstruction and designed to heat your room quietly with a consitent heat, it is a
perfect heater for your entrance halls, bathroom or other rooms.
- Your SAMBA II can be used with the optional CONVECTAIR Programmer Module (must
be connected through the pilot wire to another CONVECTAIR heater equiped with the
Programmer Module), allowing scheduled temperature setbacks in periods of prolonged
absence providing the same comfort and more savings.
2 RECOMMENDED SET-UP
READ CAREFULLY :
These instructions are essential to install and safely use your new SAMBA II.
- Your heater must be installed in accordance with national and local codes and CONVECTAIR
recommends an installation by a qualied electrician.
- Your heater must be installed so that the control panel is out of reach from anyone in
the bathtub or in the shower. Do not install over a bathtub, spa or any other water source
(sink, etc.).
- Do not install the heater behind a door, furniture or others obstacles, or in front of an air
exhaust vent. Keep combustible materials such as curtains, away from the heater.
- Your heater is equipped with a heating element that may reach high temperatures. Do
not install or operate in the presence of fuels such as gasoline, paint solvents or other
ammable products.
- Do not install the heater under an electrical plug.

3 INSTALLATION AND MOUNTING
- Identify where you want to install your SAMBA II, providing su󰀩cient air circulation and
maintaining the minimum required clearances around the unit (Fig. 2).
- The SAMBA II heater is a recessed unit who's clearance restrictions must be respected.
The heater should be installed no lower than 10 cm. (4 in) from the oor. Leave a
minimum clearance of 10 cm. (4 in) on each side of the heater, 50 cm. (20 in) on the top
and 60 cm. (24 in) in front for a proper air circulation. Convectair recommends that the
heater be installed at 30 cm. (12 in) from the oor.
- Clear a rectangular opening of 56 cm. (22 in) high (B), 33 cm. (131/4 in) wide (A) and
9 cm. (3 1/2 in) in. deep (C) between the wall studs (Fig. 3).
- Make sure that the electrical wires come out of the bottom right corner of the wall opening
(Fig. 3).
- The heater can be dismantled in 3 pieces : the front panel (1), the ventilation block and
panel controls (2) and the enclosure box (3) (Fig. 3).

To dismantle the heater :
- Remove the probe by unscrewing its screw (Fig. 4 A) and the two bottom screws (Fig.
4). Next, take o󰀨 the front panel.
- Take o󰀨 the ventilation block by removing the 3 screws (Zone A, Fig. 5) and slide the
ventilation block to clear the hooks (Zone B, Fig. 5).
- Before placing the enclosure box inside the wall opening, remove the knockout metallic
cover and insert the electrical wires (Fig.6) using an appropriate cable clamp (not
included).

- Insert the enclosure box and secure it to the wall with appropriate hardware (Fig. 7 A)
(not included).
- Insert and hook the ventilation block and the control panel inside the enclosure box
(Zone B, Fig. 5). Secure the ventilation box with 3 screws (Fig.5).
- Connect the electrical wires (Page 8).
- Place and hook the front panel using the enclosure box top crease. Secure the front
panel with 2 screws (Fig. 7 B to 7 C).
WARNING : Do not pinch wires when closing the front panel.

4 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
RESPECT COLOR WIRING
- You must connect the ground wire of the heater (green wire) with the copper wire.
- The purple wire with the seal at the extremity should not be used for the electrical
connection.
- The purple wire is used only if the heater is connected with the CONVECTAIR Programmer
system.
-WARNING: To prevent short circuits and electrical shocks turn
the power o󰀨 at the main panel before attempting the installation
or making any repairs. If you are using a programmer system,
make sure to cut the power o󰀨 ALL electrical heating circuits of
the heaters wired to the pilot wire.
- CONVECTAIR recommends that your heater be installed by a qualied
electrician and in accordance with national and local codes.
- This heater must be connected to a 240 Volt, (60 cycles) circuit and
with an appropriate breaker.
- The connection of the heater must be done inside the enclosure box
on the right side of the control panel. Connect the wires using the wire
connectors provided with the heater (Fig. 8).
- The rst time your CONVECTAIR heats, a light smoke could be
released due to the burning of production residues. This is normal and
should disappear after about 2 to 3 minutes.

5 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
-To turn the heater ON (A)
Press on the " " key (A). The screen turns on, the indicator light turns green, your
device is now running.
- To shut o󰀨 heater operation (A)
Press on the " " key (A) on the control panel. The indicator light turns orange, the screen
turns o󰀨, the heater is in standby mode.
- To set the desired temperature
Using the "+" and "–" keys (B), you can raise or lower the desired setting temperature as
you wish by gaps of 1°F (0.5°C) each time the key is pressed, between 45°F and 82°F
(7°C and 28°C).
- To change display in °C or °F
Place your heater on standby. Simultaneously press " " (A) and "+" (B) keys and hold
for 3 seconds to switch display in °C (Celsius) or °F (Fahrenheit).
- The «Timer » function (D)
This function allows an immediate and additional 1000 W of heat during a determined
period of time (from 5 to 90 minutes). You are therefore using your device at its full
unregulated power of 2000 W.

- To use the «Timer » function (D)
Pressing the « » (D) button triggers the «Timer » function for a period of 15 minutes
(default).The red indicator light will turn on. Successive presses on «-» and «+» (B) allow
to modify the duration between 5 and 90 minutes in steps of 5 minutes. Hold the « » (D)
key for 3 seconds to select the new default duration.
- To stop the « Timer » function (D)
The «Timer » function stops automatically once the time has elapsed.
Otherwise it is possible to stop the timer by simply pressing on the « » (D) to
stop the function.
- To lock the controls (G)
This function locks any manipulation of the thermostat to prevent tampering, particularly
by children. Only the «Timer » function can be activated.
Press simultaneously for 3 seconds the « » (D) and «+» (B) keys to activate this function.
The display shows « » (G) indicating the control panel is locked.
- To unlock the controls (G)
To unlock the control panel, press again simultaneously for 3 seconds the « » (D) and
«+» (B) keys. The lock symbol « » (G) is no longer displayed.
- To activate and set the « Auto Cycle 24H » (C)
You enter every day at the same time in your bathroom and you like to have this feeling
of warmth. The « Auto Cycle 24H » is handled automatically by setting the «Chrono»
time.
Once the “Auto Cycle 24 H” function is activated, the device will do a preheat of 15
minutes on regulated power (1000 W), then another 15 minutes on full power before
“Chrono” time. At this time, it activates the timer for the duration saved as default.
-To set the « Chrono » time (C)
The « Chrono » time is the time at which you want the bathroom to be warm every day.
This operation should be done once, at the desired time. The « Chrono » time will be
kept and repeated every day. To program the “Chrono” time, press for 3 seconds on the
“24 H” key (C). This causes a slow blink of the light indicator.
Press briey on the “24 H” key (C) to stop the light indicator blinking and conrm the
setting.
Note: If no “Chrono” time is set when the command is activated, the “24 H” key (C)
indicator’s light ashes, indicating that the “Auto Cycle 24 H” cannot be activated.
IN CASE OF POWER FAILURE, ALL SETTINGS WILL BE LOST.
-Automatic fan-forced booster heating mode (J)
A reduction in the ambient temperature of about 5°F (3°C) with regard to the desired
temperature engages the automatic fan-forced booster mode. A scrolling of 5 pictograms
(. ) (J) at the top of the screen of the control panel allows to know that this mode is
activated. As soon as the rise of temperature is su󰀩cient, the thermostat returns in normal
mode.

6 OVERHEAT CONTROL
This heater is equipped with separate overheat controls for the convection element
and for the fan-forced system. In case of a malfunction of the unit (blocked air output or
intake), the heater will stop heating automatically. After correcting the malfunction the
heater can be reset.
To reset the heater :
- Convection element: Check that the front panel, top and bottom of the heater are free
of obstruction. Once the obstruction is removed and the heater cools down, the overheat
control will reset automatically.
- Fan-forced system: Verify that the air inlet and outlet are not obstructed. After 5
minutes, put the heater back on by reseting the panel's breaker.
7 MAINTENANCE
To keep your CONVECTAIR unit clean, regular maintenance is suggested. To remove
dust, use a soft cloth. To remove a stain, use a damp cloth.
For a better performance and maximum e󰀩ciency, it is suggested that dust and lint be
regularly removed from the protective grill situated in front of your SAMBA II.
NEVER USE ABRASIVE OR ACETONE-BASED PRODUCTS TO CLEAN YOUR
HEATER AS THIS MAY DETERIORATE THE EPOXY FINISH.
ANY REPAIR ON YOUR CONVECTAIR HEATER SHOULD ONLY BE DONE
BY A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN, AND ONLY AFTER HEATER HAS BEEN
DISCONNECTED.
Recommendations and advice
Your CONVECTAIR heater will become hot when in use. Caution is advised when young children are
present.
Do not insert small objects in the heater : this could cause an electrical short circuit, re or damage to the
inner components.
Any use or modications not approved by CONVECTAIR may cause electrical short circuits, re or injuries
to the users.
In certain cases, it is possible for yellowing of the surface to occur over time. This is not due to a
manufacturing defect.This is caused by surrounding air, which may contain smoke or dust, being heated
and circulated through the heater. This is particularly the case with white heaters and may translate in an
important important coloring of the unit.
Prevention : it is suggested that surfaces be frequently cleaned especially with units installed in
bathrooms, kitchens, locations where cigarette smoke is present, rooms with a replace or wood
stove. Never use this heater during construction work or other activities that generate a lot of dust.

8 TROUBLESHOOTING
Before calling CONVECTAIR, please go through these simple checks :
1- Open and reset the breaker in the main panel.
2- Press on the ''ON /OFF'' (A) key to turn on your heater.
3- Activate the timer function (D).
If the light is still o󰀨, and no heat is generated, call CONVECTAIR's customer service
department at 1 800 463-6478 or contact the nearest Service Center.
9 IDENTIFICATION OF YOUR HEATER
IMPORTANT: PRODUCT INFORMATION APPEARS ON THE HEATER’S
IDENTIFICATION LABEL.
The identication label is located on the inside of the heater (visible throught the inferior
air intake on the front panel).
It includes :
- The complete model number, capacity,
colour (A) and its production reference
number (D) that must be included in any
warranty claim.
- Capacity (B).
- Standard certication (C).
10 WARRANTY INFORMATION
2 years against all defects / 5 years on heating element.
All CONVECTAIR heaters are subjects to a double warranty.
Warranty is applicable from date of purchase by the customer and under certain specic
conditions. All details furnished with each heater. Please keep your invoices (purchase
and / or installation).
To register your product warranty you may ll out the form availbale on our website OR by
ll out the paper form included with the heater.
Unauthorized modication of the heater will contravene with the product warranty.
