1. INTRODUCTION
The Crane Ltds' photovoltaic (PV) mod le allows yo directly to transfor the solar energy into electric
energy.
To be able to se whole capacity of PV mod le, please read and apply caref lly herewith given
instr ctions. In case they are not complied with, this might lead to nexpected damages.
The entire instr ction gives information regarding the safety meas res, which sho ld be observed
d ring the time of delivery and instalation of photovoltaic mod le CPV36M140 and CPV60M240.
Please keep this instr ction d ring whole service life of PV mod le. Please read very caref lly
chapters 6 (cleaning and maintenance) and 7 (problems in operation).
The instalation and maintenance of your photovoltaic module must be performed only by
well trained personal, who can perform the technical procedure described in this
instalations.
The prod ct warranty will be invalid, if the written instr ctions are not complied with!
We recommend yo to make an ins rance of yo r PV mod les against nat ral disasters.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
DANGER! Risk from e ectric shock!
The photovoltaic mod le oscillates electricity even with low light intensity. The phisical
interr ption of active grid-cirq it can ca se an arc, which can bring serio s inj ries or
death.
•Do not disconect connections, which are nder voltage. Bear in mind that even witho t
daylight, there co ld be resid al charge in the mod les. So be extremely caref l when
performing any activities on photovoltaic mod les!
•Cover the photovoltaic mod le with opaq e material d ring the whole assemblying period. Only
by this way it will be s rely de-energized.
•It is nesessary to comply with the reg lations and the safety instr ctions when instaling the
electric devices and systems.
•In case of mod le or phase voltage over 120V, the additional low voltage remains. Provide the
necessary protection and safety meas res.
•Do not p t electrically cond ctable parts in the sockets or additional materials.
•Children or na thorized persons sho ld not be allowed near the mod les.
PRODUCT PROTECTION
•Protect the mod le agains scrapings and another damages, especially from edges impacts or
incorrect storage.
•Do not p t the mod les area nder mechanical press re. Do not step on the mod les. Do not
drop or do not p t s bjects on the mod le.
•Do not do mod les modification. Do not drill additional holes on the photovoltaic mod le (eg.
for fastenings)
•Do not open j nction box in any case.
•Do not se light concentrators (eg. mirrors or lens) in an attempt to increase the mod le
capacity. The mod le can get damaged. This will also void the g arantee.

3.1. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
TRANSPORT / STORAGE
To avoid PV mod le damage:
•Store PV mod le in dry premises. The package is not atmosphere infl ence resistible!
•Transport the mod le in its original package ntil its instalation.
•Use vac m c pping glass for mod les' movement and transportation or hold the mod le by
the edges. Carry the mod le in vertical position when transporting over long distances.
•Do not pick and do not move the mod le while sing the cables or the j nction box area in
nder any circ mstances!
•Do not pile- p mod les one over another!
•Do not let the mod le to recline on its edges, witho t protecting it.
4. INSTALATION POSITIONING
•The mod le is tested for safety operation in temperate climate.
•Allowed temperat res for the mod le are between -40ОC and +85ОC. Check if there is
adeq ate ventilation nder the mod le, so the maximal temperat re exceeding to be avoided.
•Observe the req irements for f nctional gro nding in dependence of mod les positioning (see
chapter 5.4 “Gro nding”).
•Do not expose the mod le to the chemicals impact
•Do not deep the mod le in water. Th j nction box is resistible only to water drops.
•Do not position the mod le neear to flamable gases or vapo rs (eg. gas containers) or near to
open fire or flamable materials.
AVOIDING THE SHADING
The optimal solar radiation leads to maximal electric prod ction. This for, position the mod le in a way
that the photovoltaic cells to be oriented toward the s n.
Avoid mod le shading, as this will ca se negative effect to its performance. It is believed that a mod le
is f lly witho t shading, when there is no shadow over it tho gh the year (eg. shadow from: b ildings,
chimneys, trees). Even partial mod les shading (eg. overhead cables, pol tion, snow) m st be avoided
(see also chapter 7 “Cleaning and maintenance”).
Also caref ly revise the mod les' orienatation specification and the inclination degree (see chapter 5.1
“Mechanical assemblying”).
5. ASSEMBLY AND INSTALATION
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! Damaged modules' components can create risk of fire!
•Instal only reliable photovoltaic mod le.
•Before the instalation, make s re that j nction box, cable and connectors are not damaged.
•Do not open j nction box in any circ mstances.
•Allways keep the photovoltaic mod le in dry premises. The package is not climate infl ence
resistible!
•The mod les' voltage is higher with lower temperat res and/or when there is higher radiation
than the Standard Test Conditions (25OC cells temperat re, 1000W/m2, AM 1,5). This m st be
taken into acco nt when yo connect several mod les, so that the total voltage of the mod les
strings m st not exceed 1000 VDC (in agreement with IEC 61215, Edition 1/61730, Edition 2) or
600 VDC (in agreement with UL1703).
•Please comply with the req irements for f nctional gro nding in dependence of mod les'
positioning (see Chapter 5.4, “Gro nding”)

•Do not instal the mod le in conditions of high wind or rain. We recommend the assembly to be
done only in dry and not windy weather.
•When assemby is to be done on b ildings, there is a danger from tools, assemblying materials
or photovoltaic mod les of falling and harming people. This for, mark the danger zone on the
gro nd before the assembly prosses being started.
•Warn the people in visinity of the assemblying or those in the b ilding. Keep the children away
of the instalation place.
•Carry o t the wiring activities as the people do not being p n in danger and no damage occ rs.
•Protect all mod les' parts agains mechanical impacts (eg. press re, tension, torsional stress)
d ring the transportation and instalation. Make s re that in every moment the bending radi s of
the connection cables is bigger than 60mm.
•D ring the instalation of photovoltaic mod les, the connectors and the tools necessarily m st be
dry.
SAFETY REGULATIONS
R les and safety instr ctions applicable to the electric appliances and systems instalation in the co ntry
m st be respected.
FIRE SAFETY
Comply with national reg lations and instr ctions for fire safety.
5.1. MECHANICAL ASSEMBLYING
MODULES' POSITIONING
ATTENTION! The improper modules instalation can create fire risk!
•The mod le can be instaled in horizontal or in vertical position.
•D ring mod les instalation, the j nction box m st be at their pper side, and the cables to
drop down
•The mod l m st be installed in way that the rain water and melting snow to drain freely.
After the instalation, the draining holes m st be opened, to be avoided the water retention
and p ddles formation, so the risk of damages ca sed of freezing to be bro ght to minim m
•Instal the mod le with minimal inclination of 3O.
•On instaltions with inclination angle <20O, reg larly check for acc m lated pol tion (soil,
bird droppings and others). The rain will help for the removement of soil contaminated
areas, alltho gh it is recommended that the mod les are reg larly cleaned (see Chapter 7
“Cleaning and maintenance”).
•The optimal inclination angle depends on the latit de. To g arantee the optimal orientation,
we recommend photovoltaic sim lation tool to be sed.
WIND OR SNOW LOADING
Framed mod les are s itable to be sed with maximal load of 5400Pa.
MOUNTING FRAME
Every photovolatic mod le sho ld be instaled on an assembly str ct re, which:
•to correspond to the necessary static, local winds and snow
•to be properly and firmly attached to the gro nd, over the roof or on the facade
•to carry the forces applied over the panel to the mo ntig frame
•to g arantee that there won't be mecahnical press re oscillated over the mod le (eg. ca sed by
vibrations, torsion or expansion).
•to ens re adeq ate ventilation of the mod les' back side

•to ens re long stability
•not to accelerate galvanic corrosion in case of direct contact with metal (eg. gro nding g ide /
lead, screws, rings and others)
•to allow free and nlimited expansion and contraction d e to nat ral deviations in ambient
temparat res
MODULES' ATTACHMENT
To ens re long PV mod le stability:
•Instal the mod le and the clips in agreement with the assembly versions
•Instal the mod le on minimal distance of 10mm from each other
•Use all attachments points and avoid the direct contact between the glass and the assembly
materials
•Fix the mod le to the sides sing 4 clips for each side and with recomendable ion force of
18Nm. By doing this, the bending, mecahnical press re and deflection will be avoided.
5.2. ELECTRIC SCHEME
MODULES' CHOICE
You can find detailed electrical parameters in the products' specification.
When connecting several mod les, se mod les from the same type and the same power class. This is
the only way to achieve the optimal performance.
SAFETY FACTOR
It might occ r that d ring work, the mod le s bmits more electricity and/or higher voltage in comparison
with that specified tho gh standard test conditions. This for, it is necessary the safety factor of 1,25 to
be incl ded for:
•Determination of the val es for components voltage meas ring (Voc);
•Determinating of the val es for wires c rrent meas ring (Isc);
•Eval ation of the control systems, connected to the photovoltaic mod les' o tp t
Alternatively, the valid national regulations for electrical systems instaling should be
implemented.
SERIAL CONNECTION OF SEVERAL MODULES
•Connect only mod les from the same type power class. Please specially to comply given
sorting specification and tolerance limits for Voc and Vmp.
•The connection of photovoltaic mod les in a series is permited only p to the maximal systems'
voltage pointed in the resective valid specification revision.
•Start the mod les operation while taking into acco nt all operating conditions and the relevant
technical provisions and standards. As this the maximal mod les' voltage, incl ding necessary
safety limits will not be exceeded.
CONNECTION IN PARALLEL OF SEVERAL MODULES
•Connect only mod les from the same type and the same power class.
•Check if the maximal loading capacity with reversive c rrent, given in the specification is
complied with. In case of reversive c rrent (ca sed from deffects in the mod le, leak or deffect
in the ins lation), the mod les can get damaged.

5. . GROUNDING
FUNCTIONAL GROUNDING
DANGER! If the grounding is improper, there is a fire risk!
The direct gro nding of positive or negative wire is allowed only if the risks for the persons are
excl ded. Coply with all applicable provisions for personal safety and fire safety.
5.4. ELECTRIC INSTALATION

DANGER! Death danger due risk of electrick shock!
The phisical disconnection of the contact elements in operating electric cirq it can ca se arc formation,
which can lead to serio s inj ry or death.
•Do not disconect connections, which are nder voltage
•D ring the assembly, cover the photovoltaic mod le with opaq e material. Only by this way it
will be s rely de-energized
•Never to ch the mod les' o tp t connectors with bare hands. For tht instalaition se only dry
and ins lated tools.
•Note the correct polarity. Connectors labeled with pl s (+) for positive terminal and min s (-) for
negative terminal.
•Do not open the j nction box within no circ mstances. Yo sho ld not take the protective led.
CONNECTORS AND CONNECTION CABLES
For choosing and sing cables and connectors follow the next prescriptions:
•Use only solar cables and connecting cables. Use connectors from the same type and
man fact rer and compatible connectors for the invertors' connection.
•Check if all electric components are in right, dry and safety condition. Tat is how yo avoid
electric shortc ts or dangero s contact voltage d e to deffect or damaged cables.
•Allways avoid mechanical pres re on the connecting cables.
•Ens re tight connection between individ al connectors (especially to the invertor).
•Check if they are co pled in the right way
AFTER THE ASSEMBLY TERMINATION
After the assembly termination, make s re that:
•The wiring is protected agains pol tion and moist re.
•The connectors are not positioned on drainage s rface and that are correctly connected.
•Are carried all necessary safety tests according the present technology level.
6. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
The Crane Ltds' mod les are prod ced to have long service life and req ire minimal mainetnance. The
light pol tions are normally washed by rain. However the rain can not wash adeq ately heavier
pol tions (eg. pollen, vegetation, bird dropping and others). S ch pol tion, shadowing mod les' active
zones will lead to systems' performance limitation.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! Danger of injuries and burns due to hot modules!
Clean the mod les only when the mod les' temperat re is between 10OC and 30OC, (eg. early in the
morning or late in the evening). Do not se electricity cond ctive tools!

WARNING! There is a risk of falling during maintenance of roof instalations and instalations
built in the buildings!
Do never enter in the instalaition zone alone and nsafe. We recommend entr st this activity to a
specialized company.
CLEANING
Yo m st reg larly to remove ac m lated contamination from the mod les. In addition to safety
instr ctions and chapter 3, comply the following point:
•Do never step on the mod les. Do not p t the mod les nder mechanical press re.
•Avoid cleaning with water, when there is a danger of freezing and big temperat re differences
between mod le, water and air.
•If yo se hard water for cleaning, to avoid leaving traces, it m st be descaled firstly. Remove
the remaining water from the mod le.
•Do not use abrasive cleaning materials or surface-active agents (eg. soap). Do not scrap
out the contaminations. This might damage the modules surface.
Comp lsory snow and ice removement from mod les s rface can lead to mechanical damages.
MAINTENANCE
Mod les m st be inspected yearly by skilled specialist abo t the following:
•Examination of the fixing and not corroded systems' components
•Examination of the connection, cleanness and entirety of all electric component
•Resistance of contacts and gro nding
7. PROBLEMS IN OPERATION
ATTENTION! Death danger due e ectrick shock!
•Please do not try to correct the problems by yo r self!!!
•In case of problems or damaged mod les (eg. brocen window, damaged
cables), please contact yo r local s pplier or Crane Ltds' Technical service
Department.
