Activities which involve the use of this equipment are
dangerous! Before starting the work, there has to be
made an analysis of all risks which can appear during
work at the workplace. Specific measures have to be
taken for avoiding accidents. Consult therefore DIN/EN
norms or other specific national regulations! Each user
needs a specific training before use! The user is
responsibleforhisactionsanddecisions!Theusermust
understand and mayaccept the risks involved! The
productmustbeusedonlybycompetentandresponsible
persons.Beginnershavetobeplacedunder directvisual
controlofcompetentpersons.Theusertakesallrisksand
responsibilities for damages, injuries, accidents which
may occur during incorrect use of this equipment, or in
anyother manner. Iftheuser isnotable or notallowed
to take this risk and assume the responsibility, he shall
notusethisequipment!
Fieldofapplication
The positioning belt with lanyardtype Baseline 2229is
usedONLYFORPOSITIONINGduringwork,tomaintaina
comfortable working position and prevent falls from
height.Beforestartingwork,makesurethatthisproduct
is compatible with your other equipment. It is
recommendedtouseropes,lanyards,hooks,carabiners,
belts and harnesses from the Crestorange, this assures
thecompatibilitybetweenthedifferentequipments.
Theequipmentshouldnotbesubmittedtoafallandthe
shockofthefall.Thisisnotafallarrestdevice!
GeneralInformationanddescription
The positioning belt with lanyard, Baseline 2229is a
combinationbetweenapositioningbeltandapositioning
lanyard. Standard size is LXLThe breaking load of this
systemisminimum15KN.Thelanyardisequippedwitha
slidebuckle(1)asropeadjuster,madebyhighresistance
aluminum,thisdeviceallowsagoodandsafeadjustment
of the needed lanyard length. One end is connected
directlytothebelt,ontheotherendthereisahooktype

Beforeeachuse:
Carefully make a visual inspection of the material and
functionandensure thattheequipmentworksproperly.
Pay attention to the possibility of mantle breakage,
swollen mantle, damaged seams, cuts, discoloration,
damaged or corroded hooks/connectors, any other
abnormalchange.
When usingthe positioning lanyard, please make sure
that the structure you want to use as anchorage, is
strongenoughandrespectsatleasttherequirementsof
EN795.For your personalsafety,we recommend touse
an anchorage point/structure, which can hold a load of
minimum1500Kg.
The belt can be simply dressed and settled around the
waist. The length adjustment is done by releasing or
tightening the webbing through the mobile part of the
front buckle. After dressing the belt, pleasetighten the
webbingtillyoufeelcomfortable.Thebeltshouldnotbe
tolooseandnottotightened.
Thepositioninglanyardshallbeusedasfollows:
adjust the proper length of the rope bypushing or
pulling the rope trough the slider buckle, the lanyard
shall enclose the anchorage structure,the connector
from the end of the lanyard will be hookedinto the
second(free)DRingandclosed(ontheoppositesideof
thebelt).Pleasemake sure that the gate is closed and
secured. The positioning lanyard should be installed
alwaysabove theheight ofthe user’ships andit should
bealwaysinatight,spannedposition.Alwaysadjustthe
lengthoftherope properly,so thatin caseof afall, the
distance should not exceed 50cm. Avoid sideways
movements that cause swinging where you can be
thrownagainstanobjectorawall!
Warning!
Please make sure that the hook/connector is correctly
hookedinandthegateisclosed,beforeusing.
Please use a protective hose forthe rope, to prevent
damages on the rope. Before using, please inspect the
also the –by the protective hose covered parts of the
rope!
Please avoid the rope contact with sharp edges, grease
andoil,corrosivechemicals,heat,moltenmetal.
Rescueandevacuation!
Workatheightsrequires the user to be ingoodhealth,
medically fit, to be trained in the use of theequipment
andtobeawareoftherisks.Planningfortheevacuation
ofapersonthathasfallenandthatmayremainhanging
in the harness must be done before starting work at
heights. Each workplace must have a rescue plan, the
rescueteammustbeavailableinshortesttime.

accessories other than those supplied by the
manufacturer.

363:2008, the user shall be fully conversant with the
function and use of other components. In the event of

Theequipmenthastobe
removedfromservicewhen:
1.Theequipmenthasmissingmarkings
2. The device is worn down, it has corrosive damage,
broken threads, corroded metal parts, bad functioning,
has mantle breakage, swollen mantle, damaged seams,
cuts,discoloration,anyotherabnormalchange.
3. A fall or heavy load has occurred when using the
equipment.
4. There is any doubt about it’s integrity, the full usage
historyisuncertain
5.Itismorethan6yearsold
In the event of uncertainty, remove the device from
serviceandcontactthedealerorthemanufacturerfora
professionalinspection.
Lifetime
The maximum service life of this product shall not
exceed46 yearsfrom thedateof firstuse.The storage
time (in proper conditions) before the first use should
notexceed2 years. Storageperiodin proper conditions
willnotaffectthetotalusagetimeofthedevice.Intense
use,heavy workingconditions& environment,incorrect
handling and wear, poor maintenance, can reduce the
length of useful life. An exceptional event can reduce
thelifetimeoftheproducttoasingleuse,forexampleif
itisexposedtoamajorfallorhugeload,exposedtohigh
temperatures, exposed to chemicals, exposed to sharp
edges,rubbedonabrasivesurfaces,etc.
The lifetime of the product ends when it meets one of
the above mentioned removing criteria or when the
equipment’suseisjudgedobsolete.
Transport,maintenanceandcleaning
The new equipment should be stored in it’s original
packaging. Once used equipment should be stored in
proper bags or boxes. Proper bags and boxes are also
optimumtransportationaccessories.
The equipment must be stored in a dry, dark and well
ventilated space,protected against heat, steam, sharp
edges, vibrations and UVlight. The equipment shall be
kept clean for the best function and durability. Metal
parts can be blown clean with compressed air. Avoid
lubricating oil!Slightly soiled equipment can be washed
in lukewarm water with a soft brush. A mild soap
solution can be used. Heavily soiled equipment can be
machine washed in a wash bag with a pHneutral and
phosphatefree washing detergent using a 30° wash
program.Wetequipmentshouldbehunguptodry.The
equipment shall dry by itself without being exposed to
open flames or other heat sources. Appropriate bags
and/ortransportboxesaretobeusedwhenstoringand
transportingtheequipment.
Inspection
The user himself must inspect his equipment carefully
before,duringandaftereachuse!
Fortheuser’ssafetytheproductmustbeinspectedbya
specialistatleastonceeverytwelvemonthstoensureits
functionanddurability.Inspectionsaretobemademore
often with frequent usage of the equipment or use in
heavyandaggressiveenvironments.
Theinspectionmustbeperformedonlyby aspecialized,
qualified person, authorized by the manufacturer, that
has an inspection certificate and it has to be made in
accordance wit the manufacturer’s inspection
procedures. We recommend inspections to be made in
Crestoservice centers or made by Crestoservice
partners. Like this you receive a detailed examination
sheetaboutyourequipment,data’swillbestoredinour
internal data system and the examination will be noted
alsointhelogbook.
Marking
Crestoforworkingatheightsaremarkedwithlabels.The
label carries the manufacturer’s name, product name,
model designation, unique serial number, month and
year of manufacture, size, EN standard and the
Certification Institutes codenumber. The product label
mustbelegible!
Logbook
Eachcomponentofasystemforprotectionagainstfalling
shallbeentered inalogbook.Thelogbook istobefilled
in at least every twelve months by a “duly qualified
person”.(Seeequipmentlogonthelastpage).Theuseris
responsible for noting in the logbook the date of the
equipmentsfirstuse.Thelogbookhastobekeptcloseto
theequipmentandsentinforexaminationtogetherwith
theequipment.
Repair
Repairs or replacement of parts are strictly forbidden!
Theymayonlybemadebythemanufacturer.
Guarantee
Themanufacturerguaranteestheproductforaperiodof
12 month, beginning with the day of the first use. This
day has to be noted in the log book. The guarantee
covershidden faults in raw materialandmanufacturing.
Any other aspects occurred during use are not covered
bymanufacturersguarantee.
The manufacturers guarantee covers only faults on the
equipment.Themanufactureris not responsible for any
type of consequence, direct or indirect, caused by
accidents,injuries,damages,etc,resultingbytheuseof
thisproduct.
