LIMITED WARRANTY
D-Link provides this limited warranty or its product only to the person or entity who originally
purchased the product rom D-Link or its authorized reseller or distributor.
Limited Hardware Warranty: D-Link warrants that the hardware
portion o the D-Link products described below (“Hardware”) will
be ree rom material de ects in workmanship and materials rom
the date o original retail purchase o the Hardware, or the period
set orth below applicable to the product type (“Warranty Period”)
i the Hardware is used and serviced in accordance with applicable
documentation; provided that a completed Registration Card is
returned to an Authorized D-Link Service O ice within ninety (90)
days a ter the date o original retail purchase o the Hardware. I a
completed Registration Card is not received by an authorized D-
Link Service O ice within such ninety (90) period, then the
Warranty Period shall be ninety (90) days rom the date o
purchase.

D-Link’s sole obligation shall be to repair or replace the de ective Hardware at no charge to the
original owner. Such repair or replacement will be rendered by D-Link at an Authorized D-Link
Service O ice. The replacement Hardware need not be new or o an identical make, model or part;
D-Link may in its discretion may replace the de ective Hardware (or any part thereo ) with any
reconditioned product that D-Link reasonably determines is substantially equivalent (or superior) in
all material respects to the de ective Hardware. The Warranty Period shall extend or an additional
ninety (90) days a ter any repaired or replaced Hardware is delivered. I a material de ect is incapable
o correction, or i D-Link determines in its sole discretion that it is not practical to repair or replace
the de ective Hardware, the price paid by the original purchaser or the de ective Hardware will be
re unded by D-Link upon return to D-Link o the de ective Hardware. All Hardware (or part thereo )
that is replaced by D-Link, or or which the purchase price is re unded, shall become the property o
D-Link upon replacement or re und.
Limited Software Warranty: D-Link warrants that the so tware portion o the product (“So tware”)
will substantially con orm to D-Link’s then current unctional speci ications or the So tware, as set
orth in the applicable documentation, rom the date o original delivery o the So tware or a period
o ninety (90) days (“Warranty Period”), i the So tware is properly installed on approved hardware
and operated as contemplated in its documentation. D-Link urther warrants that, during the
Warranty Period, the magnetic media on which D-Link delivers the So tware will be ree o physical
de ects. D-Link’s sole obligation shall be to replace the non-con orming So tware (or de ective
media) with so tware that substantially con orms to D-Link’s unctional speci ications or the
So tware. Except as otherwise agreed by D-Link in writing, the replacement So tware is provided
only to the original licensee, and is subject to the terms and conditions o the license granted by D-
Link or the So tware. The Warranty Period shall extend or an additional ninety (90) days a ter any
replacement So tware is delivered. I a material non-con ormance is incapable o correction, or i D-
Link determines in its sole discretion that it is not practical to replace the non-con orming So tware,

the price paid by the original licensee or the non-con orming So tware will be re unded by D-Link;
provided that the non-con orming So tware (and all copies thereo ) is irst returned to D-Link. The
license granted respecting any So tware or which a re und is given automatically terminates.
What You Must Do For Warranty Service:
Registration Card. The Registration Card provided at the back o this manual must be completed and
returned to an Authorized D-Link Service O ice or each D-Link product within ninety (90) days
a ter the product is purchased and/or licensed. The addresses/telephone/ ax list o the nearest
Authorized D-Link Service O ice is provided in the back o this manual. FAILURE TO PROPERLY
COMPLETE AND TIMELY RETURN THE REGISTRATION CARD MAY AFFECT THE
WARRANTY FOR THIS PRODUCT.
Submitting A Claim. Any claim under this limited warranty must be submitted in writing be ore the
end o the Warranty Period to an Authorized D-Link Service O ice. The claim must include a
written description o the Hardware de ect or So tware noncon ormance in su icient detail to allow
D-Link to con irm the same. The original product owner must obtain a Return Material
Authorization (RMA) number rom the Authorized D-Link Service O ice and, i requested, provide
written proo o purchase o the product (such as a copy o the dated purchase invoice or the
product) be ore the warranty service is provided. A ter an RMA number is issued, the de ective
product must be packaged securely in the original or other suitable shipping package to ensure that it
will not be damaged in transit, and the RMA number must be prominently marked on the outside o
the package. The packaged product shall be insured and shipped to D-Link, 53 Discovery Drive,
Irvine CA 92618, with all shipping costs prepaid. D-Link may reject or return any product that is not
packaged and shipped in strict compliance with the oregoing requirements, or or which an RMA
number is not visible rom the outside o the package. The product owner agrees to pay D-Link’s

reasonable handling and return shipping charges or any product that is not packaged and shipped in
accordance with the oregoing requirements, or that is determined by D-Link not to be de ective or
non-con orming.
What Is ot Covered:
This limited warranty provided by D-Link does not cover:
Products that have been subjected to abuse, accident, alteration, modi ication, tampering, negligence,
misuse, aulty installation, lack o reasonable care, repair or service in any way that is not
contemplated in the documentation or the product, or i the model or serial number has been altered,
tampered with, de aced or removed;
Initial installation, installation and removal o the product or repair, and shipping costs;
Operational adjustments covered in the operating manual or the product, and normal maintenance;
Damage that occurs in shipment, due to act o God, ailures due to power surge, and cosmetic
damage; and
Any hardware, so tware, irmware or other products or services provided by anyone other than D-
Link.

Your D-Link We Cruiser
The D-Link WebCruiser Data/Fax/Voice modem connects your
computer to the Internet, all kinds o message services, and other
popular Fax Modems.
This manual describes the eatures, procedures o installation, and AT
command set,.etc. o your modem.
Your D-Link WebCruiser ..
There are indicator lights and connectors on the ront and back panel
o this modem. Following is the meaning o these light and
connectors:
1.External Front Panel
RD : Received Data indicator.
TD : Transmitted Data indicator.
CD : Carrier Detect indicator.
OH : O Hook.

PHONE : Phone Jack.
LINE : Telephone line jack.

Trou le-shooting guide
Q1: How can you connect the modem?
- Power down your computer.
- Using the cable provided, connect it to one o the serial port on your
computer. Please re er to this installation guide page 5.
- I there is none le t, please unplug one o the other devices (not
mouse) and plug into that port.
- Power it up and Windows will detect it and then ollow the
instructions.
Q2: You do not know where to start. How can you install the
modem?
- A ter completing the steps in Q1, ollow the graphic example as
shown in this modem installation guide page 7.
Q3: How can you test i the modem is installed properly or not?
- Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Modems > Diagnostics tab
- You should see a new modem installed on one o the COM port (eg.
COM2 56000kbps V.90 modem). It could be COM1 or COM2
depending on your computer.
- Select the COM port with your modem, Click on “More In o...”
button
