1 About this document
1�1 Validity
This document applies to the DualMode colour mini dome cameras (Day/Night)
DDF3000A4-DN and DDF3000A4-D .
The descriptions in this document are based on the software version ML 2�3 and apply to
all above-mentioned device variants. For simplication reasons, the term “DDF3000A4” is
thus used. If text passages require distinctions to be made between the device variants, the
complete device names will be mentioned.
Pictures in this document may differ from the actual product.
1�2 Documents
Commissioning
The document entitled “Commissioning” contains the most important steps for the connection
and commissioning of the device.
InstallationandConguration(thisdocument)
The document entitled “Installation and Conguration” contains detailed descriptions of the
installation, connection, commissioning and conguration of the device. Safety instructions,
general notes and technical data are additionally provided.
The target audience is exclusively specially trained and authorized professionals (instal-
lers).
1�3 Conventions
This document contains various warning words and symbols that indicate potential sources
of danger. Various symbols and formats are used to maintain the clarity of the document.

2 Safety instructions
Only use this unit if it is technically in proper working order, to the intended purpose and
while keeping safety and potential dangers in mind. Have malfunctions or damages elimi-
nated immediately!
Appoint a professional
Installation, mounting, connection, start-up and conguration of the unit may only be carried
out by trained and authorized professionals (installers).
Unless otherwise expressly specied, this also applies to the maintenance, testing and repair.
In doing so the regulations of the DIN VDE 0701 series of standards (repair, modication
and inspection of electrical appliances) must be followed in addition.
Read and pay attention to the documents
Carefully and completely read the documents included in delivery. Always pay attention to
the provided instructions, notes and warnings.
Regulations surveillance systems
The use of video and audio surveillance systems is strictly regulated in most countries.
Therefore, inform yourself on laws and regulations that govern individual applications be-
fore using the unit. Ensure compliance with these laws and regulations and also observe
regulations regarding data, working and environmental protection.
Donotmakemodications
Do not make any modications to the unit (neither to the software nor the hardware) without
consulting Dallmeier electronic. Improper modications can cause malfunctions or damages.
Dallmeier electronic accepts no liability for damages resulting from unauthorized or improper
modications to the unit.
Protection against condensation water
If the unit is brought from a cold to a warm environment, condensation water can form inside
the unit. Short-circuits may then lead to damage to the system. Wait up to 8 hours for the
unit to reach room temperature before starting it up.
Observe the rated voltage
The unit can be damaged or destroyed by the application of an incorrect voltage.
The mains voltage must always match the rated voltage of the unit. The rated voltage is
specied on the rating plate of the unit.
Observe ratings
Unsuitable ambient conditions and improper installation (mainly too high ambient tempera-
ture and insufcient ventilation) may reduce the unit’s life cycle. Ensure compliance with the
stated operating conditions (see technical data), requirements at the installation site and, if
applicable, maintenance regulations.
Expansion components/peripheral devices
Use only expansion components conforming with the technical data of the unit. Inappropriate
peripheral devices may result in the violation of local laws and regulations and damages to
the unit. In case of doubt, contact the sales partner responsible for your area.

Do not open the unit
Do not open the housing of the unit. There are no components inside the unit that require
maintenance by the user. The inspection, maintenance and repair with an open housing
must only be carried out by trained and authorized professionals (installers).
Penetration of foreign bodies and liquids
No objects or liquids may be allowed to get into the device. In this case, immediately dis-
connect the unit from the power supply (pull out the power plug). Contact the sales partner
responsible for your area.
Measures to be taken in the event of damage and burnt smell
If you notice burnt smell or formation of smoke from a unit, immediately disconnect it from
the power supply (pull out the power plug). Contact the sales partner responsible for your
area.
Disposal
Disconnect the unit from the power supply. Remove all connected units and system com-
ponents. Return the unit to your respective sales partner.

3 General notes
3�1 Scope of delivery
Included in the standard scope of delivery is:
1x DDF3000A4-DN
1x Documentation “Installation and Conguration” (CD)
1x Documentation “Commissioning” (in print)
The scope of delivery may differ depending on the ordered equipment, the device variant
or the country of destination.
The functional range of the device depends on the ordered equipment or device variant
and may differ from this document’s content. Certain functions and features may require an
activation that is subject to costs.
3�2 Transportation and packaging
Store the original packaging for transportation at a later date. Dallmeier electronic is not
responsible for damage resulting from unprofessional/improper transportation. The goods
should only be shipped in their original packaging.
If the original packaging is no longer available, ensure that the packaging used sufciently
protects the unit against damage, moisture, heat and cold.
3�3 Appropriate use
The DDF3000A4 is a HiRes UWDR (Ultra Wide Dynamic Range) Cam_inPIX®DualMode
colour mini dome camera. It is designed for indoor use only and can be operated at 12V
DC or 24V AC.

4 Notes on operating the device
l The device can be operated at 12V DC or 24V AC.
lIf the device or the cables connected to the device are located near sources of strong
radiation, the video image may be distorted.
l The device is equipped with automatic gain control (AGC). In low light the image may
be altered (e.g. noise). This is not a malfunction.
lThe quality of the video image depends on the lighting and the monitor used to display
the video image.
lAutomatic white balance depends on the lighting used and can cause colour distortions
in articial light.
lPoor lighting can lead to faulty white balance.

6 Installation and commissioning
6�1 Requirements at the installation site
The camera is designed for indoor use.
Unfavorable local conditions may shorten the life of the product or lead to malfunctions.
Do not install/operate the camera in places:
lwith large scale dust and dirt
lwith steam or oil vapors (e.g. kitchen)
lwith direct sunlight
lwith improper ambient temperatures (see technical data)
l near sources of strong radiation (i.e. X-rays, radio transmitters or magnetic elds)
lwith corrosive surroundings (e.g. gases or salt water).
6�2 Mounting, connection and commissioning
You can mount the camera on a ceiling or a wall.
NOTE
The appropriate mounting template can be downloaded at
https://www.dallmeierpartner.de.
Ø Cut the hole (Ø 20 mm) for cables out of the mounting template.
Ø Pull all required cables suspended from the ceiling / wall through the mounting templa-
te.
Ø Afx the mounting template to the required position.
Ø Drill holes for dowels at the 4 marked locations.
Ø Detach the remaining mounting template.
Ø Insert appropriate dowels into the drilled holes.
Ø Unscrew the camera housing (F) (counter-clockwise).
Ø Pull all required cables suspended from the ceiling / wall through the cable hole (N) of
the camera support (B).
Ø Mount the camera support (B) with 4 screws to the ceiling / wall using the xing holes
(H).
WARNING
Danger of death from lightning strike!
Do not connect / disconnect the video cable during a thunder-
storm!
WARNING
Danger of death from electric shock!
Disconnect the power supply unit from the mains socket before
connecting the camera!

NOTE
In order to comply with the UL requirements, you have to use
an UL-certied, limited power source (LPS) Class 2 power
supply unit.
NOTE
The camera is provided with internal inverse-polarity protec-
tion.
Ø Connect the camera via terminal (M) or UTP port (L) to an appropriate power supply unit
and a CVBS or UTP device. Ensure the correct pin assignment.
NOTE
For pinout information see chapter Pinout information.
Ø Select the relevant video output type using the UTP / BNC switch (K).
Ø Connect the power supply unit to the mains socket.
Ø If applicable, connect the camera to a CVBS monitor using the video preview output
(J).
Ø Align the camera using the 3-axial gimbal (C).
Ø Adjust focal length and focus.
Ø Check the video image on the CVBS monitor.
Ø Fix focal length and focus with the locking screws (D) and (E).
Ø Press and hold the selector (I) for approx. 2 seconds to open the OSD conguration
menu. Congure the camera settings.
Ø Disconnect the video preview CVBS monitor.
Ø Screw the camera housing (F) onto the camera support (B) (clockwise).
CAUTION
Danger of injury from camera falling down!
Ensure that the camera support and camera housing are se-
curely mounted!

7 Preparingtocongure
The camera is supplied with factory settings which enable it to be used for most scenarios
without further conguration. However, if required, the camera settings can be congured in
the OSD (On Screen Display) camera menu, either directly at the camera with the selector
(I) or via the UTC (Up The Coax) PicoRemote Box, a DMS / DLS recorder or PView.
NOTE
If using UTP video output, the camera conguration is only
possible with a passive UTP transceiver (e. g. Dallmeier DIS-
2/M UTP) or via UTP (RJ-45) / BNC video balun (impedance
converter).
NOTE
There must be no video distributor or signal amplier between
the camera and the PicoRemote Box, the recorder or PView.
NOTE
Refer to the separate documentations of the devices or soft-
ware used.

8 Conguration
The conguration dialog is opened as follows:
Direct: ØPress the integrated Enter button of Selector (I) for approx.
2 seconds.
PicoRemote Box: ØPress the OK button for approx. 2 seconds.
DMS / DLS recorder: ØSelect Camera control > Open / Close menu.
PView: ØSelect Camera control > Open / Close menu.
Navigating the conguration menu is always by means of 4 directions keys, which are refer-
red to as Selector in the following. The button for input conrmation or opening a submenu
is called Enter button.
Two dots after a menu item indicate that additional conguration
options are available in a submenu.
One dot means that the selected item (command) is executed
by pressing the Enter button.
ØPress the Selector up or down (pq) to select a menu item from the list.
ØPress the Enter button to open the selected submenu or to execute the command.
ØPress the Selector to the left or right (tu) to change the respective setting value.
ØTo return from a submenu to the parent menu, select Previous Page and press the
Enter button.
NOTE
Pay attention to chapter Exit Menu when saving/resetting set-
tings already made or leaving the conguration.
8�1 Presets
The presets allow you to very easily adapt the camera con-
guration to the on-site conditions to achieve the best possible
video picture.
< Universal > is set as the preset at the factory.
The following presets are available:
lUniversal
Scenes full of contrast with strong backlights.
The relevant details are in the highlights.
The maximum dynamic range of the camera is used.
Large differences in brightness are adjusted.

Preset for indoor scenes with medium contrast.
Details are displayed in high resolution.
Detail resolution in the bright area is optimized.

Use for indoor scenes with uorescent light and low contrast.
Detail resolution in bright areas is optimized.
Typical ickering with neon lights is compensated.
lLow Light
Preset for low light scenes with slowly moving objects.
The closing and exposure time (shutter) can be adjusted manually between 2x and 8x.
NOTE
The following presets are only available in the
DDF3000A4-D .
l Poker Table
This Preset has been developed to meet the special requirements at the poker table
ensuring optimal identication of red and black cards.
lGambling
A preset for games that require chips.
This preset allows the chip colors to be optimally displayed.
lWheel
This Preset has been developed to meet the special requirements at the roulette wheel
ensuring optimal identication of the numbers and colors of the wheel.
lSlot Machine
This preset has been developed to meet the special requirements for slot machines
ensuring optimal identication of the symbols.

As an alternative to the presets, the following settings can be manually changed to adapt
the camera to the prevailing conditions:
lBrightness
ØSelect Brightness to adjust the image brightness.
lGamma
Gamma denes the brightness range within the color space and thus the differentiation
between lights and shadows.
Ø Choose Gamma = Auto for scenarios with strongly varying light conditions.
Alternatively, the brightness range can also be set manually in 8 steps.
lRange Bias (only DDF3000A4-D )
Range Bias allows you to shade or brighten the different brightness areas.
l Gain Limit (only DDF3000A4-D )
Gain Limit allows you to set the max. gain with which the amplitude of the video signal
is raised in poor light conditions.
lSharpness
ØSelect Sharpness to adjust the image sharpness.
lSaturation
ØSelect Saturation to adjust the color saturation.
lWB Offset
The WB Offset function can be used when the automatic white balance produces an
unsatisfactory representation of “monochrome” scenarios. This function modies the
metered color temperature.
8�2 Basic functions
In the Basic Functions area you can make essential settings and specications for picture
display.
8�2�1 Camera ID
Camera ID allows you to assign a unique name to the camera.
The maximum length of the ID is 8 characters.
ØSelect the appropriate character with the selector (tu).
ØPress the Enter button to select the next character.
