Please always follow these instructions for use. Do not over tighten – this could lead to decreased
circulation. If you experience pain, abnormal swelling or skin irritation, discontinue use and contact
your medical provider. If the product is handled incorrectly, its function and optimum protection
can no longer be guaranteed. This aid assists recovery and should be used exclusively under the
instruction of and in consultation with your doctor or a healthcare professional.

Purpose
Indications/ Contraindications
The Body Armor® Embrace is an ankle joint orthosis to stabilise the ankle joint during the acute
phase of injury as well as during the process of rehabilitation.

> Distortion trauma of the upper ankle joint
> Insufficiency of the capsules and ligaments
of the upper ankle joint
> Prevention of chronic instability

Design features
The anatomically moulded external shell adjusts perfectly to the shape of the foot. The closing
straps provide comfort and stability. The Body Armor® Embrace ankle joint orthosis can be
individually customised to suit the foot/ ankle.
Maintenance
The product does not require maintenance.

EN Use
1. Check whether your shoe has a removable
insole.
a. If your shoe has a removable insole or
footbed (as shown in image 1). Place the
Body Armor® Embrace underneath the
insole or footbed. In this case we recom-
mend removing the enclosed black foam
pad from the heel and not using it.
b. If the insole of your shoe cannot be
removed, take off the adhesive backing
of the enclosed black foam pad from the
heel and fix the pad centrally to the upper
surface of the bottom shell (as shown in
image B).
2. Open the strapping system in order to
simplify entering the orthosis (as shown in
image 2).
3. Insert your Body Armor® Embrace into the
shoe for the stirrup to assume the following
position as shown in image 3 and 3a (broad
sole cupping underneath the heel and open-
ing at the outside of the foot). Please ensure
that the ankle joint orthosis fits securely
around your ankle and foot. Try to place the
orthosis sole as far to the back of the shoe as
possible.
4. Close the long lower hook and loop strap first
(runs circular through the loop at the inside)
by fixing it as low as possible at the front of
the splint (as shown in image 4).
5. Next fasten the upper strap by laying it
across the touch and close spots on the
inside of the device (as shown in image 5).
If the strap is too long you can shorten it with
scissors (see image 5a). Unfasten the double-
catching end of the bungee closure system
(y-form/with logo) and cut off the hook and
loop strap to the desired length. Afterwards
fix the hook strap to the loop strap again.
6. Then tie your shoes as usual (as shown in
image 6).
Use of the orthosis for preventive care after
the acute phase of injury /customisation of the
Body Armor® Embrace:
If you wear the ankle joint orthosis for preven-
tion or if you are able to resume your regular
daily routine after an acute injury, you can
remodel your Body Armor® Embrace as follows
in order to achieve a more comfortable fit:
> Remove the foam cushions from the lateral
fixing points
> Shorten their length by cutting off the thin
lower end at the pre-shaped edge (see
image A).
> Reinsert the cushion after shortening and
apply the orthosis as usual.
Note
For maximum stability we recommend
wearing athletic shoes/ trainers. For advanced
comfort please wear a high cut sock with a high
absorptive capacity.
Cleaning instructions
For cleaning we recommend washing the foam pads by hand with warm water and mild soap or
detergent. The plastic parts of the orthosis can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Avoid damaging
the material by closing all touch and close straps before washing the orthosis. The orthosis may
not be tumbled dry or dried on a heater. Please allow the orthosis to air dry at moderate/room
temperature.
Disposal
Dispose of after use. Please dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly manner.
When treatment is complete, dispose of this device according to local laws and ordinances.
Working life /Lifespan of the product
The lifespan of the medical device is determined by natural wear and tear due to proper handling/
cleaning. The medical device is designed to be used for the duration of use prescribed by a doctor
without showing a reduction in safety or performance. After the period of use prescribed by your
doctor, check the function of the product together with your doctor or medical provider.

Konstruktionsmerkmale
Die anatomisch geformte Außenschale passt sich der Form des Fußes perfekt an. Die Verschluss-
bänder bieten Komfort und Stabilität. Die Body Armor® Embrace Sprunggelenksorthese kann
individuell an den Fuß / das Sprunggelenk angepasst werden.
Wartung
Das Produkt ist wartungsfrei.

Keine Vorgaben
Die Sprunggelenksorthese ist sowohl für den
rechten als auch den linken Fuß erhältlich.

DE Anwendung
1. Prüfen Sie, ob Ihr Schuh eine herausnehm-
bare Innensohle hat.
a. Wenn Ihr Schuh eine herausnehmbare
Innensohle oder ein auswechselbares
Fußbett hat (siehe Abbilung 1), platzieren
Sie die Body Armor® Embrace unter der
-Innensohle oder dem Fußbett. In diesem
Fall wird empfohlen, das beiliegende
schwarze Schaumstoffpolster von der Fer-
se zu entfernen und nicht zu verwenden.
b. Wenn die Innensohle Ihres Schuhs nicht
herausgenommen werden kann, ziehen
Sie die Schutzfolie von der selbstkleben-
den Rückseite des beiliegenden schwarzen
Schaumstoffpolsters ab und bringen Sie
das Polster mittig auf der Oberseite des
Schalenunterteils an (siehe Abbildung B).
2. Öffnen Sie das Gurtsystem, um den Einstieg
in die Orthese zu erleichtern (siehe Abbil-
dung 2).
3. Führen Sie die Body Armor® Embrace so in
den Schuh ein, dass der Bügel die in Abbil-
dung 3 und 3a gezeigte Position einnimmt
(breite Sohlenauflage unter der Ferse und
Öffnung an der Außenseite des Fußes). Bitte
achten Sie auf festen Sitz der Sprunggelenk-
sorthese an Knöchel und Fuß. Versuchen Sie,
die Sohle der Orthese so weit hinten wie
möglich im Schuh zu platzieren.
4. Schließen Sie zunächst das lange untere
Klettband (verläuft kreisförmig durch die
Schlaufe auf der Innenseite), indem Sie es
so tief wie möglich an der Vorderseite der
Schiene befestigen (siehe Abbildung 4).
5. Befestigen Sie nun das obere Band, indem
Sie es über die Klettverschlüsse auf der
Innenseite der Vorrichtung legen (siehe
Abbilung 5). Sollte das Band zu lang sein,
können Sie es mit einer Schere kürzen (siehe
Abbildung 5a). Lösen Sie das beiderseits
haftende Ende des Schnellverschlusssystems
(y-förmig / mit Logo) und kürzen Sie das
Klettband auf die gewünschte Länge. Befesti-
gen Sie anschließend das Hakenband wieder
am Flauschband.
6. Schnüren Sie dann Ihre Schuhe wie gewohnt
zu (siehe Abbildung 6).
Anwendung der Orthese zur Prävention nach
der akuten Verletzungsphase / individuelle
Anpassung der Body Armor® Embrace:
Wenn Sie die Sprunggelenksorthese vorbeu-
gend tragen oder wenn Sie nach einer akuten
Verletzung wieder zu einem regelmäßigen
Tagesablauf übergehen können, haben Sie
die Möglichkeit, Ihre Body Armor® Embrace
anzupassen und dadurch eine komfortablere
Passform zu erreichen:
> Entfernen Sie die Schaumstoffpolster von
den seitlichen Befestigungspunkten
> Schneiden Sie das dünne untere Ende an der
vorgeformten Kante ab (siehe AbbildungA).
> Bringen Sie das Polster nach dem Einkürzen
wieder an und legen Sie die Orthese wie
üblich an.
Hinweis
Für maximale Stabilität wird das Tragen
von Sportschuhen / Turnschuhen empfohlen.
Tragen Sie für optimalen Komfort bitte Socken
mit hohem Schaft und hoher Saugfähigkeit.
Reinigungshinweise
Zur Reinigung wird empfohlen, die Schaumstoffpolster von Hand mit warmem Wasser und milder
Seife oder Feinwaschmittel zu waschen. Die Kunststoffteile der Orthese können mit einem feuchten
Tuch abgewischt werden. Schließen Sie vor dem Reinigen der Orthese alle Klettverschlüsse, um eine
Beschädigung des Materials zu vermeiden. Die Orthese darf nicht in einem Wäschetrockner oder auf
einer Heizung getrocknet werden. Lassen Sie die Orthese bei mäßiger / Raumtemperatur trocknen.
Entsorgung
Nach dem Gebrauch wegwerfen. Bitte entsorgen Sie die Verpackung umweltgerecht.
Entsorgen Sie dieses Produkt nach Abschluss der Behandlung gemäß den örtlichen Gesetzen
und Verordnungen.
Nutzungs-/ Lebensdauer des Produkts
Die Lebensdauer des Medizinprodukts wird durch den natürlichen Verschleiß bei sach- und an-
wendungsgemäßem Umgang / Reinigung bestimmt. Das Medizinprodukt ist ausgelegt, dass die
übliche vom Arzt verordnete Nutzungsdauer ohne Sicherheits- und Leistungsminderungen verwen-
det werden kann. Überprüfen Sie nach der ärztlich verordneten Anwendungsdauer zusammen mit
Ihrem Arzt oder medizinischen Dienstleister die Funktion des Produktes.
