SWITCHING YOURRADIOON FORTHEFIRST TIME
When the radioisconnectedtothe power(ACorDC)forthe firsttime,the displaybacklightwill
beon the greetingsandthen the clockwill bedisplayed.Press the STANDBYbutton once will
turnthe radioon,the DAB will beautomaticallyselectedandperformautotune quickscan

AC operation
1.Connectthe ACpowercordtothe radioviathe ACsocketatthe back.
2.Connectthe ACpowercordplugtothe ACMainsoutlet.
3.Press the STANDBYbutton on the frontpaneltoturnthe radioon.
DC (Battery)operation
InDC operation,the STANDBYbuttonwillworkasaPOWERON/OFF button.The displaywill betotallyoff
when the radioispoweredoff.
1.Ensurethe ACpowercordisdisconnectedfromthe radio.
2.Installedthe batteries(6X1.5VUM2battery)intothe batterycompartment.
3.Press the STANDBYbutton on the frontpaneltotogglethe radiobetween on andoff.
ImportantNote:To obtainthe bestperformance inDC operation,the useofalkaline batteriesishighly
recommended.
LISTENING TOYOURRADIO
FMMODE
1.ToselectFM,presstheDAB/FMbutton,thedisplaywillshow"SwitchingtoFM"anditwillautomatically
tune tothe neareststation.Onthetophalfofthe displaywill showthestationnameorfrequencyifthe
RDSisnotavailable.(F.4)(F.5)
2.To activateautosearch up,press the AUTOTUNEbutton,itwill startscanningupthe fre
quencybandandstopautomaticallyonce astation hasbeen found.
3.To activateautosearch down,press andholdthe AUTOTUNEbutton until itstartstoscan downthe
frequencyband.
4.To activatemanualsearch,press the UPorDOWNbutton.
5.To selectaudiomode,press the SELECTbutton,"Audiomode"will bedisplayed,againpress
the SELECTbutton totogglebetween "Auto"or"Mono"selection.
Note:The radiowill automaticallyswitch between stereo andmono mode,butyou can override
thisandswitch thisfunction manuallywhich ishelpfulforpoorsignalreception.

DAB MODE
Ifthe radioisconnectedtothe powerandthen switchedon fromstandbyforthe firsttime,the radio
will automaticallyenterintothe DAB autotune full scan mode.Duringthismode,the displaywill
showaslidebartoindicatethe progress ofthe scan.
Unlikenormalradio,the separatesignalsfromanumberofstationsaregroupedtogetherand
transmittedinasinglefrequency;thesegroupsarereferredtoasmultiplexesandensembles.
Everytimeone ofthesegroupshasbeen found,the nameofthatgroupwill bedisplayedon the
bottomhalfofthe display.
Autotunemodes
Therearetwotypesofautotune modes,one isquickscan andthe otherisfull scan.Quickscan will only
searchfortheUKDABBandIIIchannelsandfullscanwillsearchallDABBandIIIchannels.Oncethescan
hasfinished,the radiowill selectthe firstalphanumericallyfoundstation.
1.To activatethe quickscan,press the AUTOTUNEbutton once,the displaywill show“Autotune Quick
scan”andthen aprogressingslidebarand“Searching...”.(F4)
2.Toactivatefullscan,pressandholdtheAUTOTUNEbuttonuntilthedisplayshows“AutotuneFullscan”.

3.To explorethe stationsthathavebeen found,press the UPorDOWNbutton.
Manualtuning
1.To selectmanualtuning,press andholdthe SELECTbutton until the displayshows"Manual
tune". (F8)
2.Press the UPorDOWNbutton tomovethroughthe DAB channels,on the tophalfofthe displaywill
show"5Ato13F"andtheirassociatedfrequencies.Whenyourradiolocatesastation group(ensemble
/multiplex)ononeoftheDAB channels,thenameofthe stationgroupwillappearonthebottomhalfof
the display.(F9)
3.Toentertheensemble/multiplex,pressthe SELECTbutton,thetophalfofthe displaywillshowthe first
station intheensemble/multiplex.
4.Press the UPorDOWNbutton tosee whatstationsarepresenton the foundensemble/multiplex,
when youhavelocatedyourdesiredstation,pressthe SELECTbutton,andatthe sametime,you will
alsoexitfromthe manualtuningmode.
Autoselecton /off
You can explorethe foundstationsbypressingthe UPorDOWNbutton,ifthe autoselectis"ON", the
station will beautomaticallyselectedwhen the button isreleased,andthe nameofthe station will be
displayed.If the autoselectis"OFF", you havetopress the SELECTbutton toswitch tothatstation when
the displayshowsyourdesiredstation,otherwiseitwill revertbacktothe originalstation after4seconds.
To togglebetween the autoselect"ON"and"OFF", press the UPorDOWNbutton andthen quicklypress
andholdthe SELECTbuttonuntilthe displayshowsthe "AutoselectON"or"AutoselectOFF". (F.10)(F.11)

STORING ANDRECALLING STOREDSTATIONS
You can storeupto4ofyourfavouritestationstothe preset; thiswill enableyou togetaccess toyour
favouritestation atatouch ofasinglebutton.
1.Tostoreapreset, firsttune toyourdesiredstation,thenpressandholdyourpreferredPRESETbutton
(1-5)until the displayshows"Preset#stored". (F.12)
2.To recall apresetstation,press the PRESETbutton (1-5)thatyou havestored.
3. If you press apresetthathasn'tbeen allocatedastation,the displaywill show"Preset#empty".
DISPLAY MODES
Everytimeyou press the INFObutton,the displaywill cyclethroughthe followingdisplaymodes:
Radiotext
The broadcastercan includescrollingtextthatdisplays information aboutthe presentprogramme.If the
informationisnotavailable,the displaywill show“<NoRT>”.
Progarmmetype
Thisdescribesthe styleofthe programmethatisbeingbroadcast. If the information isnotavailable,the
displaywill show“<NoPTY>”.
Signalstrenght
The displaywill showaslidebartoindicatethe signalstrength,the strongerthe signal,the longerthe bar
will befromleft toright.(F13)
Timeand date
Thetimeanddatewill beautomaticallyupdatedbythebroadcastedinformation;thereisnoneedtosetthe
clockmanually.Inthe unlikelyeventthatno clockinformation isreceived,the displaywill show"<Time/
Date>".
Frequency
The frequencyofthe presentstation will bedisplayed.
Audiomode
InFMmode,the displaywill showifthe station beingreceivedismono orstereo.

Ensemble/Multiplex (Group name)
TheEnsemble/Multiplexisacollectionofradiostationsthatarebundledandtransmittedtogetherinasingle
frequency.Therearenationalandlocalmultiplexes,localonescontainstationsthatarespecifictothatarea.
Onsomeoccasionsyou will see a">"symbolappearedafterthe nameofthe station,thisindicatesthat
therearesecondaryservicesavailabletothatstation.Thesesecondaryservicescontainextraservices
thatrelatetothe primarystation.
DLS
DLSstandsforDynamicLabelSegmentwhich isascrollingmessagethatthe broadcastermayinclude
intheirtransmissions.The messageusuallyincludesinformation such asprogrammedetails...etc.
FACTORY RESET
When you movethe radiotoanotherpartofthe country,yourpre-tunedDAB stationsmayno
longerbeavailableandyou mightneedtoresetyourradiobacktoitsoriginalfactorysettings;to
performfactoryreset, pleasedothe following:
1.Unplugthe unitfrommains.
2.Depress andholdthe SELECTbutton when re-connectingthe unittomainsagain.
3.Releasethe button until "Systemreset" displayedon the LCD.
4.The unitwill perform"Autotune Full scan".
5.Afterthe searching(around1minutedependson the no.ofstations),press the SELECTbutton
togetherwiththe SELECTUP&DOWNbuttonsforstations.
NOTE:
All ofyourstoredDAB &FMpresetswill belostonce the resethastaken place.
