
3Install the SIM card and attach the Ethernet cable
Note If your device uses a SIM card, you must insert the SIMcard. If your device does not use a SIMcard, you can skip this step.
a. Insert the SIMcard as shown. Insert the end of the SIM card with the chamfered corner first.
Install the primary SIMcard in the upper SIMslot, with the contacts face down. Install the secondary SIM card in the lower slot, with the
contacts face up.
b. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the ConnectPort X4 H and the other end to the PC.
4Connect the hardware
a. Connect the wire whip antenna.
b. Connect the cellular antenna.
c. Connect the ACpower cord to a proper power source and power up the device.
d. After you have connected all the hardware, you must configure the unit. For configuration information, see the ConnectPort X4 Getting
Started Guide, which you can download from www.digi.com/support/ConnectPortX4.
5Complete the device setup
a. Remove power from the unit by disconnecting the power source.
b. Remove the Ethernet cable.
c. Close the enclosure lid.
d. Replace the screws that were removed in Step 2.
Note Digi recommends that you use 2.5 inches per pound of torque when tightening the screws. You should tighten the screws in a criss-
cross pattern to ensure that the cover is not bent or skewed during this process.
e. Restore power to the unit by reconnecting the power source. The unit is now ready to use.
