SAFE USE GUIDE
WARNING  Carefully read and understand all instructions
and warnings in this manual, and those labeled on your Child
Restraint. Failure to do so can result in the SERIOUS INJURY or
DEATH of your child.
SAFE USE REQUIREMENTS:
This Child Restraint is designed for use ONLY with children who weigh
between 18 and 54 kg (40 and 120 lbs) AND whose height is between 97
and 160 cm (38 and 63 inches).
Use ONLY the vehicle lap and shoulder belt system when restraining the
child in this booster seat. DO NOT use a lap belt only!
Use ONLY with children whose ears are below the top of either the fully
raised booster seat head support or the fully raised vehicle headrest.
CERTIFICATIONS:
This Child Restraint System conforms to all applicable Canadian Motor
Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS 213.2). This child restraint is certified for
use in passenger cars, multi-purpose passenger vehicles, and trucks ONLY.
THIS RESTRAINT IS NOT CERTIFIED FOR USE IN AIRCRAFT.
Aircraft seats do not have shoulder belts which are required for use with
this booster seat.
The back seat is the safest place for children 12 and under.
See your vehicle owner’s manual for Child Restraint installations
and instructions.
DO NOT PLACE A CHILD RESTRAINT IN THE FRONT
SEAT OF A VEHICLE WITH A PASSENGER AIR BAG,
UNLESS THE AIR BAG IS TURNED OFF. DEATH OR
SERIOUS INJURY MAY OCCUR.
WARNING!
If an air bag inates, it can hit the child or child restraint with
enough force to cause serious injury or death to your child.
For vehicles with side air bags, refer to your vehicle owner’s
manual for information on your child restraint installation.

• Read all instructions before using this Child Restraint. Keep instructions
stored underneath the booster seat base for future use.
• Before installing this Child Restraint in a vehicle, be sure to also check
the vehicle owner’s manual for information on proper installation.
• Use ONLY with children who weigh between 18 and 54 kg (40 and 120 lbs)

• NEVER use with ONLY a vehicle lap belt to restrain a child. This could

• ALWAYS make sure the vehicle seat belt can properly retract before each use.
• NEVER leave your child unattended.
• DO NOT use this booster seat in any configuration not shown in the instructions.
• NEVER install in rear facing, side facing or on the back of a folded down
vehicle seat.
•ALWAYS install this booster seat in the rear vehicle seat.
• DO NOT use this booster seat without the backrest unless there is vehicle
headrest for that seating position.
• DO NOT use this booster seat with any other backrest or cushions.
• ALWAYS secure the booster seat using the vehicle belt or UAS connectors
even when it is unoccupied. It could injure other occupants in a sudden
stop or crash.
• DO NOT use any accessories, inserts or products not included with this
booster seat, unless approved by Diono. Items not tested with this booster
seat could injure your child.
• DO NOT use this booster seat if it has been in a vehicle accident. You
MUST replace this booster seat if it has been involved in a crash, even if you
cannot see visible damage. A damaged booster may not protect your child
in a future crash.
• DO NOT modify your booster seat.
• NEVER provide this booster seat to another person without also providing
them with the instruction manual.

VEHICLE SEAT BELT SYSTEMS
EXPIRATION
• DO NOT use the child restraint if any part is damaged or broken, expired
(over 8 years from date of purchase), missing instructions, missing parts, or
if the straps are cut, frayed, or damaged in any way. Call 1-866-954-9786 to
find out if the damaged part or parts can be replaced.
SAFE PRACTICES
• DO NOT leave loose objects, such as books, bags, etc., in the back of the
vehicle. In the event of a sharp turn, sudden stop, or crash, loose objects can
be thrown around and possibly cause serious injury to vehicle occupants.
• DO NOT use with hot liquids as this could burn a child.
• ALWAYS check all surfaces of restraint before securing your child. In warm
weather, child restraints can become very hot. Do not allow children to play
with vehicle seat belts.
• Some vehicle seat belt systems cannot be used with this booster seat. Read
vehicle owner’s manual and “Vehicle Seat Belt Systems” section of this manual.
• According to accident statistics, children are safer when properly restrained
in the rear seating positions, rather than in the front seating positions.
IMPORTANT: Some vehicle seat belt systems cannot be
used with this booster seat.
1. ALWAYS install this booster seat in vehicle seats with
3-point (Lap and Shoulder) belts.
2. ALWAYS secure this booster seat by attaching the lower
anchors in vehicle seats when available when using the
3-point (Lap and Shoulder) belts.
3. DO NOT install this booster in vehicle seats with a Lap
Belt Only.
4. DO NOT install this booster in vehicle seats with
Motorized (Automatic) Vehicle Lap and Shoulder Belts.
5. DO NOT install this booster in vehicle seats with Door
Mounted Vehicle Belts.

SEAT ASSEMBLY
ATTACHING THE BACKREST
1. With seat lying flat on the floor, tuck in fabric panel
at rear of seat. Place hooks at seat bottom as shown.
2. Attach the backrest hooks to seat mounting points.
3. Push down on seatback just above hooks until
fully engaged.
4. Rotate seatback to an upright position while
maintaining pressure just above the hooks. Finish by
tucking any excess fabric up and under the fabric of
the backrest.

LOWER ANCHOR INSTALLATION LOWER ANCHOR REMOVAL & HEAD SUPPORT
WARNING! Unsecured objects can become flying hazards and can cause
serious injury in an accident. If your vehicle is equipped with lower
anchors, Diono always recommends installation utilizing the UAS
connectors with this booster seat.
To improve safety and performance, this booster seat is equipped with a
lower anchorage system that allows secure attachment
to a vehicle’s lower anchor locations.
1. Disengage UAS connectors from storage slots and lay
booster seat on its side. While depressing the cam lock
lever, pull UAS connectors away from the booster seat
and extend both straps all the way.
2. Attach both UAS connectors to the vehicle
anchors, starting with the connector that is furthest
from you. For ease of use, make sure open end of
hooks face upward during use.
3. While pushing booster against vehicle seat, pull
one adjuster strap tight and then the other. Make
sure that both UAS connectors are securely attached
to the vehicles lower anchors.
NOTE: Even with UAS connectors properly attached
and adjusted, child seat will still have movement against
the vehicle seat back and bottom.
DISENGAGING LOWER ANCHOR INSTALLATION
Follow the previous instructions in reverse order.
1. Reach under the bottom of the booster seat and depress the cam lock
lever while pulling the seat away from the vehicle seat back until the lower
anchor straps are extended all the way.
2. Disconnect UAS connectors from vehicle anchors.
3. Pull lower anchor adjuster straps to recess the UAS connectors into the
back of the booster seat bottom for safe storage.
IMPORTANT: Do not use UAS if installation interferes with vehicle seat belt.
ADJUSTING THE HEAD SUPPORT
The head support height can be adjusted for best fit
to your child and to ensure proper placement of the
Vehicle Shoulder Belt. Squeeze the head support
adjustment lever on the back of the booster seatwhile
adjusting its height up or down to fit the child.

1. Place booster seat on vehicle seat so it is resting
firmly on vehicle seat bottom and touching the vehicle
seat back. A gap is acceptable as long as the head
support is touching the vehicle seat back or head rest.
2. Properly position child: sitting upright and seated
all the way back in the booster seat.
3. Adjust head support to proper height: The RED
shoulder belt guide should be slightly above the
child’s shoulders (at least 1 cm). Squeeze the head
support adjustment lever on the back of the booster
seat while adjusting it’s height up or down to fit the
child.
4. Feed the vehicle diagonal shoulder belt portion of
the seat belt through the RED shoulder belt guide
into the side of the seat opposite the seat belt buckle.
5. Fasten vehicle seat belt across child. The lap
portion of the seat belt should rest within both lower
belt guides. The diagonal shoulder belt portion should
route inside the lower belt guide closest to the buckle
and over child’s shoulder.
6. Make sure the vehicle seat belt is not twisted and lays flat across child’s
lap, torso and shoulder.
7. Tighten the seat belt by pulling the diagonal
shoulder belt portion in the direction of the arrows.
8. Confirm seat belt buckle is in correct position.
IMPORTANT: The Vehicle Shoulder Belt MUST route
completely through the RED shoulder belt guide and
not fall o the child’s shoulder.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT position the Vehicle Lap Belt over the armrest.
It MUST pass under the armrest.
IMPORTANT: When using the diagonal portion of the seat belt, it should
lay over the shoulder and should NOT be touching the child’s neck.
IMPORTANT: When using booster seat in center seating position, make
sure it is stable and does not rock from side to side.

While this booster seat is designed to oer advanced side-impact protection
with its backrest section attached, the seat bottom can also be used alone
as a backless booster.
1. Remove the seat back by reversing the steps shown in “Seat Assembly.”
2. Make sure both UAS connectors are securely
attached to the vehicles lower anchors (see “Lower
Anchor Installation”). While pushing booster against
vehicle seat, pull the adjuster straps tight.
3. Place booster seat on vehicle seat so it is resting firmly
on vehicle seat bottom and touching the vehicle seat back.
The entire seat bottom should sit flat on the vehicle seat.
4. Properly position child: sitting upright and all the
way back in the booster seat.
5. Fasten seat belt across child.
6. Make sure seat belt is not twisted and lays flat
across child’s hips, torso and shoulder.
7. Tighten the seat belt by pulling the diagonal shoulder belt portion in the
direction of the arrows.
NEVER position the shoulder belt loosely or under the child’s arm or
behind their back.

IMPORTANT: After booster seat is installed and seat belt is fastened
around child, it is important to confirm correct seat belt buckle position to
ensure secure installation.

USING THE SHOULDER BELT GUIDE STRAP
1. Remove shoulder belt guide strap from storage area underneath seat.
2. Position child correctly in seat as per the prior instructions in the manual,
making sure lap and shoulder belts are positioned properly across child.
3. Attach the red shoulder belt guide strap onto the
diagonal shoulder belt.
4. Adjust strap to correct length, so that the red guide
is just above shoulder.
WARNING! If the diagonal seat belt portion does not correctly fit the
child, then the seat must be used with the shoulder belt guide strap or
with the seatback portion attached and properly adjusted to fit the child.
CUP HOLDERS
Cup holders are located on both sides of the seat bottom.
Swivel outward to the locked position for use.
Swivel inward to the recessed and locked position
when not in use.
CAUTION: DO NOT use with hot liquids as this could burn a child.
IMPORTANT: Do not step on or put excess weight on the cup holder
which could cause it to break.

ADJUSTING THE RECLINE ANGLE
This booster seat features a recline angle that can be
adjusted to match that of the vehicle seat:
1. Push booster seat backrest backwards until you
hear a click. Backrest will now pivot freely and does
not need to click into another position.
2. Push seat bottom and backrest of booster seat
down and back into vehicle seat until there is secure
positioning with the booster seat and vehicle seat
bottom and vehicle seat back. A gap is acceptable as
long as the head support is touching the vehicle seat
back or head rest.
IMPORTANT: It may also be necessary to adjust the recline angle of the
booster seat to match that of the vehicle seat.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
REMOVING THE COVER
1. Separate seat back section from seat bottom section.
2. Remove plastic fasteners and elastics that secure fabric cover to seat
bottom, seat back and head rest.
3. Remove fabric cover pieces from the booster seat sections.
DO NOT use solvents, detergents or any other chemical or cleaning
agent. DO NOT lubricate any part of the seat.
Machine wash in cold
water on gentle cycle.

WARRANTY LIMITATIONS: This Warranty excludes damages which arise from
negligence, misuse or use of this product not in accordance with the product’s
instructions, fire, floods, acts of God, or damage caused by alteration after
completion of the installation of the product. The use of non-Diono covers, inserts,
toys, accessories, or tightening devices is not approved by Diono. Their use could
cause this restraint to fail Federal Safety Standards or perform worse in a crash.
Their use automatically voids this Warranty.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO
EVENT SHALL DIONO BE LIABLE FOR ANY PRE-TRIAL PECUNIARY LOSS (IN THE
PROVINCE OF QUÉBEC), SPECIAL (IN ANY OTHER PROVINCE), INCIDENTAL,
PUNITIVE, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, WHATSOEVER ARISING OUT
OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT, EVEN IF DIONO HAS BEEN
ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT WILL DIONO BE
OBLIGATED TO PAY DAMAGES TO ORIGINAL RETAIL PURCHASER FOR ANY
AMOUNT EXCEEDING THE PRICE THAT PURCHASER PAID FOR THE PRODUCT.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights, which
vary from province to province. Neither Diono, nor the retailer selling this product,
authorizes any person to create for it any other warranty, obligation, or liability in
connection with this product. This warranty information can also be found in the
Diono User Guide you received with your child restraint.
AUTHORIZED RETAILERS Please visit your nearest authorized Diono retailer or
authorized online retailer to purchase your Diono products. A list of Diono authorized
retailers can be found on our website. Not all products are available at all retailers. Diono
products purchased from unauthorized retailers, online auction sites, or as second hand
items, are not covered under warranty. Proof of purchase may be required. While this
Warranty may not be honored, replacement parts can be purchased.

Diono Canada, ULC (“Diono”) warrants its proprietary products to the original retail
purchaser as follows (the “Warranty”):
LIMITED ONE-YEAR WARRANTY This product is warranted against defective
materials or workmanship for one year from the date of original purchase. Proof of
purchase is required. The exclusive remedy for this Warranty is that Diono will, at its
sole option, provide repair or replacement components for this product or refund
the original purchase price of the product. Diono reserves the right to discontinue
or change fabrics, parts, models or products, or to make substitutions. To make a
claim under this Warranty, contact Diono Consumer Services at 1-866-954-9786

the page or PLEASE COMPLETE AND MAIL THE OWNER REGISTRATION CARD
WITHIN (30) DAYS OF PURCHASE. DIONO MAKES NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED
WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND OR NATURE, EXCEPT THOSE
STATED IN THIS SECTION AND IN DIONO’S APPLICABLE LIMITED WARRANTY
STATEMENT IN EFFECT ON THE DATE OF THE INVOICE. DIONO DISCLAIMS ALL
OTHER WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING
WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS OF
MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON
INFRINGEMENT.
Any claim or action commenced by the purchaser under this Warranty must be
brought within one year from the date of original retail purchase, and purchaser
agrees that any disputes shall be brought in and before a court located in the
Province of Ontario to the exclusion of the courts of any other province.

Qui pourrait croire que près de deux décennies se sont écoulées depuis le
lancement de notre entreprise dédiée aux voyages en famille.
Depuis, le monde a beaucoup changé, mais nous sommes fiers de dire
que ce n’est pas notre cas (bien sûr, nous avons grandi), mais nous
sommes toujours aussi passionnés par ce que nous faisons aujourd’hui
que nous l’étions à l’époque.
Notre histoire est « originaire de Seattle », une ville pas comme les autres.
Un endroit où les esprits créatifs et innovateurs se côtoient dans un
monde d’aventure, un endroit où être un peu diérent est la norme.

AVERTISSEMENT — Lisez et comprenez attentivement toutes les in-
structions et avertissements de ce manuel, ainsi que ceux étiquetés sur
votre retenue pour enfants. Le non-respect de cette consigne peut se
traduire par des BLESSURES GRAVES ou le DÉCÈS de votre enfant.
EXIGENCES D’UNE UTILISATION SÉCURITAIRE:
Cette retenue pour enfants est conçue pour utilisation UNIQUEMENT
avec des enfants pesant entre 18 et 54 kg (40 et 120 lb) ET ceux dont la
hauteur se situe entre 97 et 160 cm (38 et 63 po).
Utilisez SEULEMENT la ceinture baudrier du véhicule pour retenir l’enfant dans
le siège d’appoint. NE PAS utiliser avec une ceinture abdominale seulement!
Utilisez UNIQUEMENT avec des enfants dont les oreilles sont en bas
du haut du repose-tête de siège d’appoint complètement levé ou du
repose-tête de véhicule complètement levé.
CERTIFICATION:
Ce système de retenue pour enfants est conforme à toutes les normes
canadiennes sur la sécurité des véhicules (normes 213.2) et est homologué
pour une utilisation à bord des véhicules automobiles. Ce siège d’auto n’est
conçu que pour une utilisation dans les catégories de véhicules: voitures,
camions et véhicules à usages multiples tels que les VUS (véhicules
utilitaires sport) et les VUM (véhicules utilitaires multisegment).
CETTE RETENUE POUR ENFANTS N’EST PAS CERTIFIÉE POUR
UTILISATION DANS DES AÉRONEFS. Les sièges d’aéronefs n’ont pas de
ceintures diagonales requises pour utilisation avec ce siège d’appoint.
Le siège arrière est le meilleur endroit pour les enfants de 12 ans
et moins.Consultez le manuel du propriétaire de votre véhicule
pour les installations de retenue des enfants et des instructions.

les instructions rangées sous la base du siège d’appoint pour utilisation future.
• Avant d’installer ce système de retenue pour enfant dans un véhicule,
assurez-vous de vérifier également le manuel du propriétaire du véhicule
pour obtenir des informations sur une installation adéquate.
• Utilisez UNIQUEMENT avec des enfants pesant entre 18 et 54kg (40 et 120lb)

• NE JAMAIS installer en mode orienté vers l’arrière, le côté ou à l’arrière
d’un siège de véhicule rabattu.
• Installez TOUJOURS ce siège d’appoint sur le siège arrière du véhicule.
• N’utilisez PAS ce siège d’appoint sans le dossier à moins qu’il n’y ait un
repose-tête de véhicule pour cette position assise.
• N’utilisez PAS ce siège d’appoint avec tout autre dossier ou coussin.
• Fixez TOUJOURS le siège d’appoint à l’aide de la ceinture de véhicule ou
le système d’ancrage universel même si le siège n’est pas occupé. Le
siège peut blesser les autres occupants du véhicule en cas d’arrêt soudain
ou d’un accident.
• N’utilisez PAS tout accessoire, option ou produit non inclus avec ce
siège d’appoint, à moins qu’approuvé par Diono. Les articles non testés
avec ce siège d’appoint peuvent blesser votre enfant.
• N’utilisez PAS ce siège d’appoint s’il a été impliqué dans un accident automo-
bile. Vous DEVEZ remplacer ce siège d’appoint s’il a été impliqué dans un
accident, même s’il n’y a pas de dommages visibles au siège. Un siège d’appoint
endommagé peut ne pas protéger votre enfant lors d’un accident futur.
• NE modifiez PAS votre siège d’appoint.
• N’orez JAMAIS ce siège d’appoint à une autre personne sans égale-
ment lui fournir le manuel d’instructions.

EXPIRATION
• NE PAS utiliser le dispositif de retenue pour enfant si une pièce est endommagée
ou brisée, s’il est expiré (plus de 8 ans se sont écoulés depuis la date d’achat), des
instructions sont manquantes, des pièces sont manquantes, ou si les sangles
sont coupées, elochées ou endommagées. Appelez 1-866-954-9786 pour
savoir si la partie endommagée ou les pièces peuvent être remplacées.
PRATIQUES SÉCURITAIRES
• NE PAS llaisser des objets tels que des livres, des sacs, etc., à l’arrière du
véhicule. En cas d’un virage abrupt, d’un arrêt brusque ou d’un accident, des
objets pourraient être projetés et causer des blessures graves aux occupants
du véhicule.
• N’utilisez PAS le siège avec des liquides chauds, car cela pourrait brûler l’enfant.
• TOUJOURS vérifier toutes les surfaces de retenue avant de sécuriser votre
enfant. Par temps chaud, les mécanismes de verrouillage peuvent devenir très
chauds. Ne laissez pas les enfants jouer avec les ceintures de sécurité du véhicule.
• Certains systèmes de ceinture de siège de véhicule ne peuvent pas être
utilisés avec ce siège d’appoint. Lisez le manuel du propriétaire du véhicule
et la section «Systèmes de ceinture de siège de véhicule» de ce manuel.
• Selon les statistiques sur les accidents, les enfants sont plus en sécurité
attachés dans les sièges arrière plutôt que dans les sièges avant.
SYSTÈMES DE CEINTURE DE SIÈGE DE VÉHICULE
IMPORTANT: Certains systèmes de ceinture de siège de
véhicule ne peuvent pas être utilisés avec ce siège
d’appoint.
1. Installez TOUJOURS ce siège d’appoint dans des sièges
de véhicule avec des ceintures en 3points (abdominale et
diagonale).
2. Fixez TOUJOURS ce siège d’appoint grâce aux fixations
inférieures des sièges de véhicule lorsque disponibles lors
de l’utilisation de ceintures en 3points (abdominale et
diagonale).
3. N’installez PAS ce siège d’appoint dans des sièges de
véhicule avec uniquement une ceinture abdominale.
4. N’installez PAS ce siège d’appoint dans des sièges de
véhicule avec des ceintures abdominales et diagonales de
véhicule motorisées (automatiques).
5. N’installez PAS ce siège d’appoint dans des sièges de
véhicule avec des ceintures de véhicule montées à la porte.

ASSEMBLAGE DU SIÈGE
FIXER LE DOSSIER
1. Avec le siège à plat sur le plancher, insérez le revêtement
en tissu à l’arrière du siège. Placez les crochets sur le
bas du siège comme illustré.
2. Fixez les crochets de dossier aux points de montage
du siège.
3. Poussez sur le dossier de siège juste au-dessus des
crochets jusqu’à ce qu’il soit complètement engagé.
4. Tournez le dossier de siège à une position droite
tout en maintenant de la pression juste au-dessus des
crochets. Terminez en insérant tout excès de tissu par
le haut et le bas du tissu du dossier de siège.
