SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1 To avoid a shock ha zard, do not
in sert or re mo ve the power plug
with wet hands
2 Alwa ys use the AC adapter sup pli-
ed with the de tec tor
3 When re mo ving the power cab le,
han dle it by the cab le plug to avoid
the cab le da ma ge
4 When mo ving the de tec tor, be
su re to re mo ve the power plug
from the soc ket Otherwise, fi re
or short cir cu it may oc cur
5 If the device is not in use for a long
time, remove the power plug of
the AC adapter from the wall out-
let
6 If the de vi ce was ex po sed to cold
for an exten ded pe riod of ti me, it is
ne ces sa ry to ma in tain it un der the
ro om tem pe ra tu re for at le ast two
hours be fo re star ting ope ra ting
7 To en su re long term du ra bi li ty of
the de tec tor without ser vi cing, be
su re to ob ser ve the fol lowing
ru les:
a make sure that the work sur-
face is flat and level;
b protect the detector from
direct sunlight and accent

OPERATION
Stric tly ob ser ve the fol lowing sequ en-
ce, du ring the de vi ce poweron:
a Connect the AC adapter to the
device via "PWR" socket (Fig1)
b Connect the AC adapter to the
wall outlet, 100-240V~ 50/60Hz
To turn on the device, shortly press the
ON/OFF button (Fig 2)
When first ti me tur ned on, the de vi ce
go es in to the IR mark chec king mo de
via the ca me ra po si tion ed at the top
of the de vi ce If the de vi ce has be en
tur ned off for a short ti me by pres sing
the ON/OFF but ton (see be low), but
has not be en dis con nec ted from the
wall out let, then when tur ned on
again, it go es in to the pre vio us ope ra-
ting mo de
The device is turned off by pressing
the ON/OFF button and holding it
down for 2 seconds or automatically
after the specified work time interval
To switch the device on again, press
ON/OFF button not earlier than in 5
second after switching off
The shorttime pressing of the ON/
OFF button makes possible to specify
the work time interval With this, the
unit displays the "SLEEP" message as
well as a number from
0 to 180The number is the work time
interval for the device in minutes after
last pressing any button (0 value
means that an automatic turning off
is disabled) The interval is selected by
pressing the "+" or "" buttons with a
step of 10 min

WHILE CONNECTING DORS 1010 OR DORS 1020

EITHER SWITCHED OFF OR IN THE STANDBY MODE

ga te in de ta ils the lo ca tion, sha pe and
struc tu re of the IRmarks of the bank
no te In the Zoom IR mo de the scre en
pic tu re is blackandwhi te, and in the
Zoom White mo de the scre en pic tu re
is co lor (if the co lor ob ject is avai la-
ble)
OPE RA TION WITH ExTER NAL
DORS 1020 TELEVISION MAGNIFIER
The DORS 1020 television mag ni fi er
(Fig 5) is con nec ted to the in put V1 and
al lows chec king the pres en ce of infra-
res (IR) and ultraviolet (UV) marks in
the re flec ted light, the sur fa ce of bank-
no tes and other ob jects in the whi te
oblique light, the pres en ce of mic ro
prints Con nect the DORS 1020 televi-
sion mag ni fi er to V1 jack on the re ar
pan el of the device The ty pe of the
magnifier is de tec ted au to ma ti cal ly at
the mo ment of switching the de vi ce
on, that's why the cab le of the magni-
fier should be con nec ted either to the
un plug ged de vi ce or to the de vi ce in
stand by mo de Switch on the de tec tor
Press the SE LECT but ton on the up per
part of the magnifier The de tec tor will
chan ge over to the next pres sings of
the SE LECT but ton on the magnifier
help to se lect the requi red il lu mi na tion
sour ce The DORS 1020 television mag-
nifier has three ty pes of il lu mi na tion:
Pla ce the bank no te within the viewing
zone as shown in Fig3
IMAGE BRIGHTNESS
AND CONTRAST ADjUSTMENT
The pa ra me ter to be ad jus ted is se lec-
ted by shortti me pres sing the
SE LECT but ton The scre en mes sa ge
"BRIGHT" or the "CON TRAST" is dis-
pla y ed as well as a num ber from
0 to 31 in di ca ting the cur rent va lue
The ad just ment is per for med by pres-
sing the "+" or "" but tons
The parameter to be adjusted (bright-
ness or contrast) is memorized and
could be adjusted again with "+" or
"" buttons without pressing SELECT
button
In the IR mark checking mode via cam-
era twoband bank note lighting mode
is turned on/off by longtime press-
ing the SELECT button At that time,
the screen message "BLINK ON" or
"BLINK OFF" is displayed
With the twoband bank note lighting
mode turned on, two IRtransmitters
with different wavelengths are turned
on alternately with the interval of 04
seconds providing the possibility to
check the special "M" elements for
certain bank notes
SIGNAL SOURCE SELECTION
Signal sources can be chosen by
shorttime pressing the INPUT but-
ton By default (when turning on the
device), IR mark checking (IRsource)
via the camera is selected When
pressing the INPUT button, the fol-
lowing sources will be selected one
after another:
1 IR1 IR mark checking via the
camera positioned at the top of
the device
2 Zoom White/Zoom IR/Zoom
UV vi deo in put from te le vi sion
mag ni fi er (in put V1)
3 AUx video input from an exter-
nal source (input V2)

The DORS 1010 television mag ni fi er
(Fig 4) is con nec ted to the in put V1
and al lows chec king bank no tes un der
vi si ble and IRlight The television mag-
nifier is ac ti va ted by pres sing the LIGHT

whi te, IR and UV For the onscre en
me nu of the mo ni tor in di ca tes the sta-
tus of the il lu mi na tion No te Zoom
White cor res ponds to the whi te il lu mi-
na tion, no te Zoom IR to the in fra red
il lu mi na tion, no te Zoom UV to the
ul tra vio let il lu mi na tion It is pos si ble to
chan ge over the de vi ce to ob ser va tion
with the help of the in ter nal IR ca me ra
by me ans of the IN PUT but ton
VIDEO SIGNAL INPUT
FOR REMOTE DEVICES
The video input (V2) is designed for
connecting other visual control de vi-
ces such as se cu ri ty ca me ra, etc To
con nect the de vi ce use a spe cial vi deo
cab le sup pli ed by the ma nu fac tu rer*
VIDEO SIGNAL OUTPUT
The vi deo sig nal out put (V3) is des ig-
ned for tran smit ting the vi deo sig nal
to any au xi li ary de vi ce with a stan dard
RCAvi deo in put (ca me ra, TV, vi deo
re cor der, etc) To con nect the de vi ce
use a spe cial vi deo cab le sup pli ed by
the ma nu fac tu rer*
To con nect the de vi ce to PC (with stan-
dard USBport) use spe cial vi deo con-
ver ter sup pli ed by the ma nu fac tu rer*
* Video cable and video converter for the DORS 1100 are supplied optionally
TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
The de vi ce should be sto red in the
ma nu fac tu rer's pac ka ge in he a ted
sto rehous es un der the tem pe ra tu re
from +5°С to +40°С and re la ti ve
air hu mi di ty not ex ce e ding 80% at
+25°С
The de vi ce may be trans por ted in
the ma nu fac tu rer's pac ka ge (for not
mo re than 30 da ys) by truck or ra ilway
trans port in con ta i ners or house cars
or by air trans port in the pres su red
com part ments un der the tem pe ra tu re
from –30°С to +50°С, re la ti ve air
hu mi di ty not ex ce e ding 98% at
+25°C and pres su re from 84 to 107
kPa (630 to 800 mmhg)
TROUBLESHOOTING
The screen is dark when the power is
turned on:
1 Check the proper connection of
the AC adapter to the device and
presence of line voltage.
2 Make sure to use the AC adapt
er supplied by the manufacturer.
If the above described actions fail,
contact your local service center
3 When wor king with the mag ni
fi er it is not pos si ble to switch
on ul tra vio let il lu mi na tion. Pro-
bab ly the mag ni fi er was con nec-
ted to the al re a dy switched on
de vice and was not iden ti fi ed cor-
rec tly Put the de vi ce in stand by
mo de and then turn it on again
4 The re is no pic tu re from the
exter nal te le vi sion mag ni fi er or
the re is no chan ging over to the
cor res pon ding vi deo in put by
pres sing the SE LECT but ton on
the mag ni fi er. Pro bab ly the pin is
not com ple te ly in ser ted in V1 jack
of the de vi ce Put the pin de ep
in to the jack till it stops
